Booker T. Washington High School is the worst I've ever been to. They claim to offer special education, but they don't, and it's the worst program I've seen in all my years as a student. The students here are completely unequipped for the real world because the school only prepares them for the military. It does nothing to help them get ready for college or other careers. The ROTC program itself is a joke, and someone literally needs to tell the commander to retire because it's ridiculous. Some of the students are very nice, but they're just not prepared. The teachers do the best they can with what they have, but at some point, we have to look at the school system as a whole and admit that the situation is horrible.

Woodom Middle School merged into Washington bringing it down. The parents are the problem not the school. I graduated in 2000. My sister graduated in 1989 it was a great school because most of the kids had parents that cared now it's a mess. Two cops on campus, teachers going to jail that happened in 2020 recently. Now without Malcolm Thomas former Superintendent it's getting worse. Ransom Middle School is one of the few good schools in Esc. I will forever be a wildcat love BTWHS.

Going downhill, I know a lot of other parents are pulling their kids out and sending them to private school. I predict in a decade or less the school will be an F school and they will have to implement another emergency measure a la IB at PHS. Don't come here if you're going to be something. All the guidance counselors quit from last year, both assistant principals from last year quit, and a bunch of deans left. Sounds fishy to me. Glad I got out of there when I did and went to a real educational institution. A school with lots of drugs and guns. Do what's best for your child and move to Santa Rosa County.

There's a whole wing of the school dedicated to special ed kids for the entire county.

They never let parents know when there are guns on school property, which happens more than you think nowadays.

Administration and faculty and staff are dimwits, not hired on merit, if you know what I mean.

All the good ones are gone. A few are still there (for now), but for the most part they retired or went to a real school with intelligent students.

What homework? Never did much homework in my time here. For the classes I did those A1 teachers are gone and never to return.

After walking the hallways to see the school first hand, I couldn't help but notice how old, run down the lockers for the students are...and now come to find out there are terribly rusted and old, that students can't access the lockers. Front office administration mainly ran by students, needs some guidance, because the female secretary has a serious lack of patience and communication for all students, she is disrespectful and rude. The nurses office has about the best staffing of all with understanding and respectable staffing. Guidance has an exceptional assistance whom will will guide and assist all the students, because she cares.....Educational wise, we'll after attending one of my son's classes while he attended, shocking to see how a video for math class was being utilized to education for metric conversion, lack of educated teachers and laziness is what is displayed. I feel sad for students in the district who's parents don't have the choice of selecting another school due to transportation, cost, etc. All kids deserve the best and finniest education possibly. Sad to know they can't get it at Booker T. Washington High School ...really makes me want to educate and become a teacher, we learn from our own experiences, good and bad, and definitely needs an overall of "back to basics of on hands teaching, and effort of education of the students".....make it worth the kids attending school like they leave every day learning something and feeling proud of where they attend. Take a census, get an idea if the kids are proud or a survey to see what can be improved, besides the teachers....maybe the way they teach, the darkness of the interior of the school, lockers, respect both ways, ...I think that the school can learn from the students to make it a better school, after all they are the reason the school is there....Watch out for virtual education....seems to be taking over and it is a wonderful education system that is all about the students.....

The only people who rave about this school have lived in escambia county their entire lives. Washington is a below average school; there are only a handful of good teachers who actually teach b it the majority just babysit and text all day. Facilities are rundown and have the feel of a jail because of a lack of windows in the majority of the school (you'll rarely see the sun during the school day). Administration is extremely incompetent and disorganized, and not to mention rude (guidance office desk and conselors are mostly inefficient and rude---it a must to go up to the school because they never return your phone calls). Of you are an honors student Guidance will put you in general classes of you don't watch out and deter you from taking honors and AP. changing schedules is an ordeal and some of the counsellors are not accommodating when you request courses. During county and state testing periods, the administration makes the whole student body stay in a certain period for half the day, thereby reducing precious class periods right before finals and AP exams, and the computer systems are frequently down. This school district/school is extremely poor so don't expect cool science experiences or manicured lawns---It's all weeds and trash everywhere---there is no pride. Heck, the graduation rate is way below the STATE average. So, bottom line is, if you're intellectually curious and an ambitious student, don't come to this school, or anywhere else in this district.

Booker T. Washington is a great school. Don't listen to the people that say, "oh, it sucks" or "I hate this school" or "the teachers are bad". Those are the people that don't give any effort. You have to play a part too. Don't just sit back and be lazy. I have been going to this school for 4 years. I'm just an average student. I make average grades. Well actually, this year I've been making all A's on my report cards. That's a first. But anyway, I mind my own business, I don't get involved with many people, I pay attention in class and I am respectable to the teacher. I promise you, these 4 traits will keep your grades up, it'll make you have a good reputation, the teachers will respect you and you WILL graduate. Stay positive. Be active. If you do, you will realize what a great school this really is. What we stand for, which is perpetual hope and striving for the best. Come to Washington!! Also, we have the best band in the land. The Marching Wildcats!! Not forgetting to include the best drum line. So if you're in middle school band, join Washington's band. You will NOT regret it. But overall, Washington is a great school. And always remember, it's great to be a Wildcat!!

Washington high school is overall a good high school. There are many great long term teachers there. The curriculum has been updated to accommodate advanced students, but there are still controls in place to limit acceleration. AP courses are available and instructed by effective teachers. College campus dual enrollment is not encouraged but tolerated by this school.

Worst math department I've ever seen in my life. I've been to 5 different high schools and this might be the worst. There's nothing positive about this school. Teachers will fail you just to fail you.

Washington High is a good school im going to be a senior this coming school year at washington and ive been there since my freshman year and i love the school. The foreign languages i love along with the pep rallys and the homecoming dances at school. We have decent to good teachers there and some of the students are okay there not all. The school has became a little more populated and its harder to move around but overall its a good school.
