My child was really struggling in public school due to the large classroom sizes and high pressure put on her, even as a kindergarten student. Since transferring her to Lighthouse, her whole attitude has changed about school. She loves school and has been thriving. The homework is totally manageable and beneficial. Her teacher is extremely supportive and good at communicating and being flexible with parents.

Over the last year my family has become part of LPCA. This school is simply amazing. The programs and sports offered give my child every opportunity to succeed in a safe, friendly, Christain environment, I could not ask for more.

Great school with diversity and high standards. Our son has done very well at Lighthouse PCA. He started in 1st grade and is now entering the 11th grade. He tests each year well above the standard. We are very happy with the education and spiritual support he receives.

Teaching is maintained by the teachers at school at Lighthouse. Homework is minimal but required when a student does not complete work or if behind. Projects are sometimes given and are completed of campus.

Awesome accredited Christian school. Other private schools in the area do not have the accreditation or college connections that this school has.

My grandson has had a very positive experience at Lighthouse Private Christian Academy. He is excelling well and has such a better attitude about school than he ever did in public school. There is no doubt that he will be graduating from high school at Lighthouse!

Lighthouse Private Academy is a positive, safe and effective choice for providing a well rounded education for our children. The school has a diverse student body, a caring and highly qualified staff and administration who understands the need for school choice and quality education. We have watched over the years the beginning of the school and the successful growth, doubling of attendance some years, including the last two. This is obviously attributed to happy parents and successful kids. The word is out about Lighthouse Academy, good things happen when you are striving to do the best for children. Lighthouse is a wonderful place, we are so very happy to have the option of Lighthouse Academy in our lives, the life of our son! In the last few weeks it seems that there have been some negative comments about the school... Funny, the comments are from people who we have never heard of? Who have never been a part of the Lighthouse community. Sad, this corresponds with the release of a couple of school staff who lost their way and no longer had the best interest of the children in mind. An obvious attack on the reputation of this wonderful school.

My children attended Lighthouse for many years. They thrived there. The POSITIVE discipline created a welcoming place to learn and grow. We moved out of state about a year ago and I can tell you, there is NO place like Lighthouse anywhere else! I also worked in administration for a few years at LPCA. I will tell you that the owners and the people that they trust to teach your children will do everything in their power to make sure your child(ren) are happy and growing...in knowledge and in character. I have seen first hand how this school can transform children. It is an incredible thing to be a part of it!

Lighthouse is the best School by far! I love that my kids love going to school and are learing so much! They really do care about your children and want to see them excell! The school is growning like never before and has doubled every year. Any negative comments that I have read are unfounded! God has blessed this school and I am blessed to have my children be a part of it!

We needed to move mid year and were faced with the choice of a new school. We felt good about Lighthouse but wanted to be thorough so we researched all of the options indepth. After the tour we jumped in with both feet. With raising four children this was the best experience we have had with a school in all of the years. It feels rewarding to have something in our lives go completely right. So glad we chose this school.

My children fell behind after attending Lighthouse. The admin staff is unorganized. There were many safety concerns both with the cleanliness of the school and the lack of discipline. We had a few bully issues. The teaching staff turns over often likely because of the bad conditions. Parent involvement is not welcome. I think most of these reviews were written by people who work at the school.

I am a parent, and my son loves Lighthouse at Gadsden campus. He has excelled in areas where he did not a year ago in public school. The small classroom sizes create a great learning situation. The teachers can care on an individual bases. The Principal is very hands on and involved with the students achievements. There is always something exciting going that motivates my son to learn. I feel this school is on the right track to getting back to caring about students success and safety. Kids feel good about themselves at Lighthouse.

My son is at the Pensacola Campus. He has autism. He has learned so much in the past 4 months than he has in a whole school year of public school. He has an AWESOME teacher. Some doctors told me he would never be able to function around "normal" kids or be able to read and write. Well that "assumption" has definitely been proved wrong. Thanks to a wonderful school and a wonderful teacher (Mrs. Barone). I absolutely love this school. I've also advertised it a lot to. Everyone one there is absolutely wonderful. I thank God for allowing me to find this school for my son.

Hello!! We are in our second year at our Pensacola, Florida location at 901 E Gasden Street. This location is 3 year olds through the 10th grade. Our Gulf Breeze location is VPK-5th grade only. Lighthouse Private Christian Academy is the best school around. My Children are learning and excelling way more than they did in public schools. The teachers are caring and helpful. If you want to have a great education, learn about GOD and see your kids thrilled to go to school, then LPCA is the place to be.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy curriculum incorporates a well rounded experience for students. I am particularly impressed with Academic management, teacher professionalism, parental involvement, physical plant, focus on God, country, patriotism, integrity, moral clarity, student physical development, and community support. Peace of mind, a safe environment for children is a major benefit . I would recommend this school without qualification.

Great place to have your children! Friendly, kind and responsive to any needs or requests. My children are so far ahead of where we started! The teacher and admin created a plan to fix the failure of their previous school. Exactly what I expected and a huge value for the cost. How can you place a cost on your childrens future? I agree with the posts that say the kids LOVE going to LPCA. Mine loved going to school as well. However, they loved it because all they did was play and had no order. The Zoology is a unique and great part of LPCA. It is better than public as far as smaller classes, not much of a bully problem, and they learn about God, the Bible and prayer, which is HUGE. I'm not convinced, no matter what their awards, that it is educationally sound though. Many parents, from the school with whom I have spoken, like that the curriculum is slower paced. It may be good for children who are not able to handle a regular work load that is up to par, but for the norm, it is counter-productive. The director seems to have a great love for the children. As far as IOWA testing, for some reason it does not correspond to their report cards. My child also received ALL A's and B's on the report card but scored mid current grade level when they really should be testing at the NEXT grade level. And, that book as well was only half completed. I am teaching at home this summer using the half completed book from Lighthouse. So, yes, the children love going to this school. But, at what cost to their futures?

There is a TOTAL and COMPLETE lack of organization and discipline. Teachers have no options to control students. Principle just yells. I have witnessed dangerous situations on field trips where students could have easily been hurt or "lost" because teachers had no control. 2nd grade went through 2 teachers this year and 3rd grade went through 4, including the sub. for 2 months. The 3rd grade class is way behind according to multiple parents AND their IOWA test the school gives. Due to the poor quality of education at this school, my child has to go for tutoring in 2 subjects before another will accept them into 4th in the fall. Even though, report card grades were all A's and B's and IOWA test at grade level. Other private schools use the CAT, which is a lower level standardized testing and my child is not at grade level in two areas. A's and B's on report card shows the material was just not taught to the class. (There is no trouble learning for my child.) It's the material was never taught. Their books were only half completed. Because of this, I will be shelling out over $3,000 for a tutor in addition to the tuition I paid LPCA! I am very sorry I sent my child to this school.

We enrolled three of our children at Light House this year during the middle of the year. When we enrolled them the 4th and 5th graders came from public school and were below grade level with concerns if they would pass the grade. Upon graduating this year from those grades the IOWA Test showed at grade level and HIGHER. We are so impressed we are enrolling our other two children this year. The teachers are FAR above standard, Kind and VERY good with the children. The School received 3 "Awards" from Christian Schools of Florida this year 2013 for being FAR above standard as a School - One of the BEST in the entire STATE. Mrs. Joanna (the schools founder and owner) also received an award for her leadership and care for her students. The best test is to ask the child - I've NEVER seen a child LOVE school. Our children LOVE going to school now! We can't keep them home! They can't wait for the new year and are wishing their summer away wanting school to start . - Trust me when I say you WILL NOT find a better school in the State of Florida. THANK YOU LPCA for changing our WHOLE outlook on EDUCATION!!!

LPCA is the best school to send your children. We love that our children are getting a great education and on top of that learning about God and not evolution. I am very impressed with the School, the teachers and the curriculum they use. My children are excelling in every subject and really enjoy going to school.

This school is a health hazard. It is filthy! No one cleans the school as a whole. The operations director takes the trash and "cleans" the bathrooms. That's it. There is open insulation above the 4th/5th grade classroom and the fibers are torn and go into the air every time air blows by it. Very unhealthy and harmful to the lungs. Each teacher is responsible to clean their own classroom but no one is doing it very well. In the hallways, cafeteria, bathrooms and the entire school, there are layers upon layers of dust and dirt built up that shows there's not been an actual cleaning event for quite some time. I have used their bathroom multiple times and the build up on the hand railing was disgusting to say the least. Same substances each time plus more. I can imagine what the substances were. There is scotch tape holding a hinge on one of the "doors". The swing outside has a loose screw on one of the main brackets and could realistically cause it to come apart with children on the swings. I have told them about this over a month ago and at end of school, it was not fixed. Nor were swings blocked off until it could be fixed. Too much wrong to list. Just not a safe or healthy place.

The VPK program here is just horrible...organization, scheduling, ORGANIZATION. I was waiting for it to get better but got disapopointed each time. I'd rather pay out big bucks to another school. As a former educator, I was appalled in how they handled my boy's transition and then they 'forgot' to include him in the graduation ceremony. I 'm SO glad I moved to Niceville.
