This school is different from other schools. The teachers really go the extra mile to take care of your child. Sonshine treated my son like family, and I will always recommend them to other parents that don't know where to place their child.

We took our son to this school. He graduated three years ago. The experience was always positive, teachers always greeted him with the biggest smiles. He was always excelling in all subjects and I could not be more happy with the level he was at in his education to prepare him for college!

I went to Sonshine my whole life. The teachers have positive attitudes, love the Lord, and do their best to teach each student individually. Great school experience and I am happy that I spent all of my years learning here. Went to Jacksonville University after and graduated easily. Sonshine set me up very well and prepared my for college effectively

This school has terrible staff and lots of favoritism its sick. and if u send your kids to this school they wont succeed as promised. the curriculum is behind and students are supplied proper help if they dont understand the material. I could say a million more things about this school but im afraid id run out of space. Its not bully free I mean no school is but at this school sadly its not taken seriously and staff sweeps it under the rug and dont get me started on staff kids (teachers kids that attend the school) they are given passes to do whatever. And half the newer teachers haven't even finished college personally I would never want uneducated teachers teaching my kid. Im afraid this place is worse then any public school u could send your kid to save yourself the money and time dont send your kids here. P.s they treat it like a business not a school they will take and take your money more and more each year.

Sunshine Christian Academy has been one of the biggest blessings to our family since we moved to Florida in the summer of 2021. This sweet little private school is tucked into the heart of Callahan, FL. Our kids attend school at Sonshine Christian Academy and play sports for the Yulee public schools in Nassau County. This has been perfect for our kids!! The private school education paired with the public school sports! The staff at Sonshine is committed to giving the students the best education in preparation for college, or the Trades. Many students take college courses before finishing High School. The teachers are sensitive to the needs of the individual students. My favorite aspect of this school is the staff's reflection of Christ in how they care for and disciple the students, helping them to grow in their faith and their walk the Christ. In Florida, you can apply for a private school education voucher. If you qualify, the voucher will cover the cost or the majority of the cost for your children to attend a private school. If your family is new to the area, Welcome to Nassau County, Florida!

The faculty, especially Lori Johnson, treats it as a business and not an educational facility. The students come second to money. If you're not from an affluent family the staff looks down on you

They call themselves Christian but they are to just judging students to teach them

I am completely disappointed with this school. I donÂ’t like the way they have treated my children and I feel like they arenÂ’t in any different of a situation than they had in public school. They have targeted and picked on them and caused issues with them and it is totally inappropriate

They send work that is outlandish and not related to school assignments

I have Worked as ballet Teacher In couple pre- School In South Florida. I Can Tell when a School is excelent. Sonshine is to me 5 stars school. The Staff is amazing, starting by the director that every morning receive our kids at the door. A very Organized school. Christ is the center there. All that we were looking for. My son just start VPK and is very happy with our choice. The students are polites as well all the staff. I could go on and on speaking how excited we are to have our son there. I went in about 6 school in Yulee, Fernandina and none was so good.
Tks Sonshine!
Thanks Jesus

I love SCA it is a great place to have my son. The teachers & staff care for the children. When, my child gets out of the car every morning every teacher & staff member greets him & knows him and can call him by name. From the principle to the janitor, every staff member knows who you are & who your child is. It is a family.

I think the school should have given her a warning that they saw the post and in Christian love forgive ,forget and go on. This gives a horrible name to Christianity .

The parents who are writing these horrible comments about the school are upset. This school is awesome. Instead of getting on Facebook and venting how about doing what a mother does and go to the school and speak with the faculty and staff face to face. She bad mouthed the school and they have a right to kick her kid out if she's that unhappy. This is a private school!

i can only assume the parent was correct in her assessment of the school performance there really is a paucity of good performance in most organizations

Run from this school. You are a fool for sending your Children to this Debacle

One look at the website of this school it's obvious that a mega church is behind it. Hmmmm, not for profit!? The schools homepage has all these great events and fund raisers, yes a lot of fund raisers, only one event is not a fund raiser actually. Wonder if the school or owner of the school gets a cut.....that would be a sin so probably not. The website is perfect and pretty similar to others, it's just coincidence I'm sure. Oh well at least it's 99% white cuz otherwise someone would be in jail.......thank god!

Petty administration with false Christian values. School exercised their right to expel a 4 yo because of his mother's frustration. The school's reaction really proved the mother's point.

I absolutely love this school for my children! The staff is very nice, polite, and always available! I do not go to church however my children has grown so much academically and spiritually! The school not only appreciates and cares about the students but parents as well!

If I could rate this school higher I would. The negative comments that are left are NO way and in no shape or form accurate. I put my two boys in this school last yr and this yr. I have had NO issues what so ever. Of course with any school you are going to have the rebellious ones and the ones that have no respect for others that is not the schools fault. It does exceptional. This years motto is NOT AT MY SCHOOl... for elementary and EDIFY to lift up one another in the middle and high school. I am a very large part of my childrens school going. I have known of parents that have had problems. BUT just because it is a Chrisitan school does not mean that the children and adults are Christians and behave as such. They handle issues as they come and I am there quite a bit and there is NO problems that is so horrible to take out the child. Academically, my children have learned more this past year than they did the first few in public. It is well worth it if you as a family do not tollerate fighiting, bullying etc. THIS SCHOOL IS AWESOME AND STRIVE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE CHILDREN. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SCHOOL..... LOVE IT!!!!!!

Have two children that attend here and are very pleased with their studies. The staff and teachers go out out of their way for the safety of the children and not once have I felt not welcomed at the school. They encourage parents on campus and as a father to me that is a plus. Parents need to do their part also. The school has been a wonderful asset to our family academically and spirtually. Thank you to the staff for all you do and we will do our part to help make the school the best it can be. Awesome job!!! Awesome school.

I have sent my children to this school over the years. I feel like I need to speak up. I think they are doing wonderful in some ways but in others, well...not so great. Some of the staff need customer service training. Each time I go by , I leave with the feeling that THEY are the customer and it is all about them. I have had one peson speak quite rduely to me. They have lost my paperwork/attchmetns more than once. You call and come by and each time they are "busy" and it is not a good time. WHEN IS???? I feel like a "bother" to them. It is like going to Wal-mart to shop for the first time, when you have always gone to Publix. I feel like I have had enough. I can honeslty say I will never take my children here again. EVER.

EyI have two children in this school and it has been the worst experience EVER!!!! They treat my children like they are a red headed step child. They only listen to your concerns if you go to their church. My children have been picked on my daughter called fat numerous times....she is in vpk....and she is not fat..even if she was it is not very Christianly to belittle a child. My son is treated even worse....he has been physically hurt by other children in his class and when he brought it to the teachers attention she told him she does not like tattle tails......REALLY????? The last straw was when they took them out to PE and did not provide water before or during and it was 80 degrees outside....and the children had on their uniforms...when I brought this to the principles attention she proceeded to tell me that they water the children when PE is over. WHAT???? My son is not a plant. Please do your research first. Also, for some reason they teach that r makes the sound "er" L says "ool" and that M says "mmm". When did the Campbell's soup commercial become our phonics lesson.....

My daughter is attending the vpk program. She's only been in a couple of months and has learned so much. Thanks to the wonderful teachers and staff!

If you want a school that will not listen to you or your concerns, this would be the school for you. My daughter spent 1 semester here before I yanked her from this place. If you want to be talked at instead of talked to, this is your place. This is not a school, it is a joke. I STRONGLY recommend you do your research and keep records of EVERYTHING!!! Make copies. It will benefit you in the end!!!

My daughter just spent three years in Sonshine Christian Academy. It was a good experience and a blessing. This is a good school for children who benefit from a smaller school and more individual attention. The teachers are caring and truly emanate the standards of the Gospel.

I do not know one student who is happy here. Few staff members are helpful, and the curriculum is ignored. After transferring schools, my child found they were far behind. While supposed to be shining the light of God, they are simply scaring the students away from the truth by being overbearing.
