The leadership for this school fails to follow through with things that they promise or agree to.

We have seen so much growth in learning and confidence with our daughter since she started Beach Elementary (HBES). She has become an avid reader and uses the leadership skills she's learned from school in her everyday life. We have really enjoyed working with the teachers and staff at HBES. The Principal, Glenda, will win you over if you ever meet her. She is so positive, upbeat and truly takes the time to get to know each and every student at the school. Outstanding school, highly recommend you give it a chance and tour it...You will love it, guaranteed!

I have a son in 5th grade who has been here since 3rd. He Loves it! There are so many school clubs to join and he has had great opportunities to be on Math Team, Boomwhackers Club and Art Club.
The Leader in Me program is about responsibility and working with others and this has improved his entire outlook. I can't say enough great things about the staff! The Watchdog Program is so unique and engages fathers in the educational process.

I have 2 (3 this year) children attending Beach Elementary, and have for the past 3 years. I am constantly impressed with this school. The administration and faculty are amazing! These are teachers and staff that go above and beyond, the kind you hope for when you think of a teacher for your child. The leader in me curriculum is leaps and bounds ahead of private schools we have previously paid thousands for. We are so lucky to have Beach and we know when the school grades are 'unfrozen' with the new FSA testing, H. Beach will blow people away!

Love all of the positivity!!! The students are leaders and everyone of them have some kind of job.

There are several teachers who willingly came from A schools because they liked the family feel. The teachers know what they are doing and are able to teach effectively.

My child never had homework on the weekends. She only had one math and one reading page per night.

All students are able to be leaders. They have jobs in the classroom as well as other areas.

I will say that the Kindergarten teacher we got was fantastic. I am not complaining about her - but the teachers have been horrible. There has been ZERO communication unless I tried to get in contact numerous times, and when I have they all complain about their jobs.

When a second and third grade student have homework that takes three hours out of their night, that's absurd.

This school seems to have teachers that don't care for their jobs and it reflects on the students.

Please understand that this review is honest and comes from a parent with a child that has been in this school for three years now. This school is completely unorganized. I've only had one teacher that I liked so far for my child's education that actually stayed in contact with us and enriched the kids and showed concern for them. The teacher we have now does nothing but complain about her job in front of our children and even my husband and I during a conference. It reflects on her class and the grades they are making, which is a shame. Don't expect to get notes about things on time, expect to not know about events until it's too late, and when your child performs - expect them to have been sitting in a cold hallway for an hour. The drama and gossip is huge. I am not involved in it, but I have stood back and overheard it during open house and even going through the office to bring things to my child. That is unacceptable. Absolutely TERRIBLE parent-teacher communication. I feel I've wasted three years of my child's education.

A parent: the teachers at this school are amazing. The principal is awesome!! But being a parent and the first person you see our the front desk ladies that are rude and not pleasant at all. I've waited on my child a few times and heard them gossiping about kids and parents. I've also got eyes rolled at me and told no I couldn't go to the classroom to take supplies that the teacher requested. But then someone else comes in and they give them passes. On one occasion they had a fit about someone picking my child up and wouldn't give them to her. But the following week my child's friend ( that I had no idea was coming home with us. And wasn't suppose to they we're suppose to go to bay base) walk right out with my child! Luckily I am friends with their parents and called them but it's stuff like that. They pick and choose when rules are going to be in place. And they are just plain rude. My child will not be going to this school again next year not because of the amazing teachers. But because of the unpleasant and rude front desk ladies.

My 9-year-old attended this school last year and it was NOT a good experience. The classes are overcrowded, the teachers are overwhelmed and the students are WILD to the point of dangerous. Unruly and slow (many had failed at least once and several had failed twice!) students prevented adequate learning for the whole class. This area is great for vacation but not a good place to make your home. We feel like we completely wasted an academic year for our child. Praying and trying our best to relocate!!
