Our kids went through the North Scott School District from Kindergarten through graduation. They received an excellent education and were able to start college with several college credits earned during high school. Our daughter commented on how North Scott prepared her well for college. While many students in her college classes were struggling with writing a paper or preparing for a test, she felt NSHS did a great job in preparing her for success in college. We would highly recommend this school district to anyone looking for a district that provides a quality education in a great community!

Teachers at NSHS are fantastic! Not only do they know their subject matter, they know the kids, and are trusted by the students to help with life issues as well as homework. They want to see the students succeed and they go out of their way to help them.

The students learn about integrity, compassion, and respect through the example set by the staff and leadership. Students get involved in the community through food drives, collection of winter wear for those in need, blood drives, and so much more. Many of these activities are spearheaded by the students themselves, with support from the school where needed. Im so proud of the work our students do and the people they become.

North Scott is one of the best schools in the area because they have strong and effective leadership. The school principals and deans work with the school board to make sure the students have every advantage. They actively work to improve curriculum by adding more AP and college level classes; they support the arts as well as sports programs; and they bring the students opportunities to learn about careers, colleges, and scholarships.

My daughter was in the special education program and it was life changing for her. We moved to the district when she started as a freshman; North Scott integrated her into their program easily and she became very close to her teacher, paras, and counselor. They worked with her to give her opportunities and classes she wouldnt have received elsewhere. They were in regular contact with me and let me know of any difficulties my daughter was having and successes she achieved. Im grateful they were there to guide my child through her high school experience.

Instances of bullying were addressed immediately when reported. The students do a great job of standing up for others, too.

I went through school at North Scott from kindergarten through graduation. The opportunities available to me during those years were amazing and varied. Now that my children are part of North Scott, Im blown away by the variety of programs they can be part of. The school works so hard to get students ready to take the next steps in life, starting when theyre freshmen and continuing through senior year. When we moved to the district, my daughter was ready to start high school and didnt feel like she belonged anywhere. Only days into her freshman year, she felt good about herself, like she had found a home and friends who understood her. Moving back to the district was the best decision we could have made for our kids.

All of the students have Chromebooks and the assignments are issued through Google docs. Students and parents can view assignments due, see grades, and read comments from the teacher. Homework is very balanced; my child never has so much that he feels he doesnt have time to complete it. The last block of every day offers students the opportunity to work on any classes they feel they need extra help with. The support from the staff is phenomenal! They all want the kids to succeed.

Couldn't ask for a better school district to raise my children. The school has been supportive of all of my daughter's interests. It doesn't matter if it was History Day, tennis, archery or orchestra our experience has been fantastic.

They have worked hard to use homework as practice work. They are trying to move students towards the learning and away from point chasing. 6th period has been a good addition to ensure that my student is meeting the standards for the class.

My daughter's teachers have been willing to go out of their way to make sure she is learning at her highest level. They seem willing to do whatever it takes.

They have implemented 3D coaching through Tim Schenckloth and Steffan Nass which is more about building better people. I hope they continue this training.

The PLC time that they provide all teachers is based on meeting the needs of all students. It was a benefit to my daughter, especially in English.

This site has little input in the North Scott High School. Too see a two with only four reviews does not tell an accurate story. Ive graduated two daughters and have ONLY great feedback to share....

This high school is exceptional. The district has the best National History Day program in the state; the history day sponsor was PBS teacher of the year two years ago. The music and drama programs are outstanding, with students being recognized at state level every year. The speech team has numerous all-state champions. Sports team compete at the highest level (4A) of Iowa football. The city of Eldridge with 5,000+ residents hosts the high school, junior high, administration building, and the largest of five elementaries in the district. You may see North High in a real estate listing -- this is not that school. The parts of the city of Davenport north of I-80 are in the North Scott district, not Davenport.

Generally speaking it is a fine school but EXTREMELY clique filled and not just the students but the parents (it's easy to see where the students get it). Outsiders are not welcome but people who have been in the community a while often aren't either. The academics are NOT good as honors, AP, and college classes are dropped by the school at an alarming rate. The new teachers coming to the district are unprofessional are frankly have no place in the classroom. If you try and talk with administration about any problems you are ignored and the problem is blamed on "Your" stupidityAs for extracurriculars, unless you or your child is in football they will get no support. The programs are fine but the teachers who are in charge are retiring and essentially not being picked up by any other teachers so the days of any decent programs will soon be gone. Honestly if you are even considering this district you should turn your head around towards Bettendorf (sports), Pleasant Valley (academics), Davenport Central (music), or Assumption (religion).
