An great remote school. Less students allows parents to have more of a say in their child's education. Issues are addressed immediately and administration is much more aware than they would be at a larger school. Less red tape to maneuver and admin is open to new and creative ideas.

I think there is a good balance of not overloading kids but there could be a little more in areas where needed.

Staff has come a long way in the last 5 years. Teachers want to stay and kids enjoy classes and learning.

Character development programs are in place and working at the elementary level. A little different focus could be used at the middle/high school level to be more effective.

A change of leadership around 2014-2015 made a huge improvement in this school. SAT scores are up 54% IRI scores are up and 100% literacy in kindergarten (2018-2019). New school board in 2017 has been very effective at making hard decisions and doing their research and holding admin responsible. Things are working!

Special ed classes and dedicated teachers/paras for learning differences. GT programs offered and also helps to make learning more creative.

Victim proof teaching is very effective when taught at the elementary level as this district does.

While I was in school, many of the teachers played favorites, the principal never seemed to care, and the students just have no manners. I read an earlier review on this school about new kids in the school, and new kids were extremely welcome.... Into the popular crowds. There were one or two teachers there who were absolutely amazing and care about the kids. Kermit Tate is wonderful and never played favorites. He cared about his students, and was also the track coach. This school is going downhill. It'll be closed within 10, or even less. The school board cares more about funneling money into their own pockets instead of investing in their teachers and school.

Rather than teach the students how to solve problems, they stick them into special education, and leave them there to do nothing. I would know, I had it happen to me.

I'm very disappointed in the quality of "education" my child was getting. Many of the teachers are near retirement age and don't really teach. He had a teacher who gossiped with the students for entire classes (that was when he was actually in class), another who was gone almost 1/2 of the year with meetings and sports, he did not have a math book because there were no books, and kids that never turned in their homework got A's. The students are rude and don't like new kids to come into "their school". Some of the boys would go into the girls locker room while they were changing and the principal and P.E. teacher did nothing about it. The water tastes really bad and leaves a gritty feeling in your mouth (probably a health issue). Overall I was very disappointed in this school.
