Hello there! I noticed one of the reviews coming from either the principal or the eighth grade teacher said that the students lack the knowledge to be able to write a review about this school. I had to leave in the middle of eight grade due to how harmful the school was to me. I think that its quite funny how us students, previous or current, lack the understanding and knowledge to rate this school when WE are the ones in the first hand position of how we are being treated. They publicly shame and humiliate children, racism is big in the sister schools, and so is sexism. People of color are constantly being mistreated, being discriminated, and bullied by WHITE teachers. On the second note, sexism with primarily females has been an up and coming thing with them. One of the teachers at Liberty Charter School is an ex pdfile, the physical education teacher at Legacy has made more girls than i can count uncomfortable. At Liberty Charter School, they raided a girls house for speaking up about a teacher who had shamed her publicly for the clothes she was wearing and the fact that he was an ex pdfile. They did so because she used the song Pumped Up Kicks. So please, coming from an ex student who had multiple people leave alongside her, think about what you are putting your children through.

I recently graduated from here, (3yrs ago) and now gp to a public school. Yes, my academic experience was good, except of the fact that teachers will ignore you if they don't find any interest in you. You can engage and try to get help, but if they don't think you're worth it, they won't help. Racism is pretty big here, teachers will randomly accuse colored students, and immigrants are NOT appreciated by the staff. Sexism is also big, girls are main targets, (even as a white American guy I noticed, so big deal to be honest) If you get bullied they won't do anything. Special ed students get abused and laughed at my the teachers. Lunch is good, but short. A lot of unnecessary rules that target students in the most random ways. A teacher tried to contradict what students are saying by writing a review on this website. But truth is, it's good for education, and good if teachers like you, but if they don't, get ready to face a living nightmare.

Good:

Teachers are great and very caring of my two kids education. Advanced my boys at least a grade ahead of surrounding schools. Start your child early or they will struggle at the level they teach at.

Bad:

Classes are too large for one teacher so they separate the class and make some kids work on computers while others get a teacher. This school is only education, no sports or other opportunities. The School forces the kids to do good on the Idaho testing exams. If they do bad they are punished or kicked out of the school. This is why the school standardized testing statistics are higher than surrounding schools. Church and school is not separate at this school!!!!! Had many issues with the principal of the school. He would teach history and always talk about the Bible and his religious beliefs. I had my kids record him and take pictures of any school work that pushed religious beliefs.
****Beware***** This school pushed religious beliefs on both of my kids. I had to report this school two different times to remove religious beliefs from their curriculum. This a public school- not private so they have to follow nampa school district guidelines.
If the school fired the current principal and kept religion out of the curriculum, I would rate it three stars. If they lowered the teacher to student ratio to 20/1 I would give 4 star review. If they had any clubs/sports it would be a 5 star review.

honestly this is a fine school in my opinion. More like a meh kind of thing. If you want to send your child here, just be sure that they are willing to because there is a lot of assignments starting in 7th grade. The purpose of that is just so you can be ready for high school. Sometimes the principal can play favorites but Im pretty sure hes not realizing it, so not anything bad about him much. There is one classroom per grade and it all starts in 6th grade where theres 50 students and it might be hard to get some help from the teachers. The lunch here is pretty fine. Especially with all the delicious ones like pizza or nachos. In 5th and 8th grade, they have a massive project to do involving history. (Which is We The People), and that they present with a congressional hearing that can be pretty overwhelming. (specially if you have to dress up fancy). Community service is also required too in order to graduate 8th grade (at least 30 hours and this is not a choice too). I could go on more but this is enough. If you wanna send your child here, do talk with them if they should attend here or not by the things listed in this review.

My review got deleted so Im gonna say this again;

This is the worst school to ever be in 8th grade. The homework is too much. (Math, Spelling, Khan Academy, Literary Analysis, Constitution, Presidents, etc.) and its very stressful. We also do somewhat weekly essays and we need 2-3 pages at least, in a specific format. And no one smart can write that much. Plus we do community service and its required to graduate, not optional. (30 hours at least). Recently, our history teacher (aka principal) said that if we dont get a 90% or above on our constitution and presidents test every Monday, hes gonna take away all our free time by rewriting the lists over and over again until we memorize it well. And it must be a new thing too. This is not the right place to go to for 8th grade. Never attend here.

We moved from out of State. My children came from a private school setting. Legacy went above and beyond to help my daughter with the social anxiety she had been dealing with since she was in pre-school. When she started at Legacy she had not spoken a single word in a school setting since she was 3. With the help of the Special Education Teacher, Her 3rd grade teacher, the speech therapist, and many others she is talking at school and getting the help she needs to excel at grade level. She is almost to grade level for her reading. Compared to the private school the resources at Legacy were by far superior!! I am so happy my 2nd grader is there and that one day my youngest will start kindergarten there.

As a person who attended this school for 2-3 years I can now say it's the worst school ever. One year in 2nd grade the teacher isolated me without telling my mom for 3 whole months because i saw two flies on top of each other. The teacher and staff will bully and humiliate your child for doing the smallest things wrong. they will give your child mountains of homework and very little exercise, if you are a parent in the state of Idaho, and looking for a good school, this is not the right school to look for.

I feel like this school gives grades that are not earned to ensure their test scores appear higher. There is really no discipline or consequences and it definitely doesnt prepare students for entering into higher education. The classes are huge and there is hardly any one on one with students.

Not all teachers are helpful. Many anger when kids ask for help. Some are wonderful but my kids have had many who actually get angry when asking for help.

Not sure on this. I feel the staff bully Childern into behaving. They are very strict and they even have to go to school court when a shaming the child doesn't work.

Not the school for many kids. Many including mine have had to leave. The environment is Stifling.
My friend talked us into going to charter school. I should have never put my kids through this but kids are resilient so they are doing very well now.

There is fear. Children at this school fear staff and many teachers. They use Childern as examples when they do something wrong. They are shamed in front of the entire class. My kids tell me their friends cry while being shamed. That does not teach self worth and integrity to a child it cuts to their core in embarrassment.

Staff all but the receptionist are snooty and non approachable. My children are scared of the 2 highest up. They anger eaisly and are very very very strict. To a point it's uncomfortable for my children. They feel like robots and don't feel they can be theirselves.

Each teacher goes well beyond what they need to. The bar is set high for each student. My kids have reached that bar. That is not the stopping point for the teachers here, they are being helped above it.

The home work at times seems excessive.
I see the concept in what they do at school on a daily basis.
Repetition - at school and at home has been wonderful for my kids in learning the concepts.

I would describe this school as phenomenal.
With the four kids that I have there. They help each child individually. It's not a cookie cutter experience. My daughters are above their grade average's, they are helped to achieve their growth and potential. My sons keep the teachers on their toes (sorry, if your reading this) But they are taught to the best of their abilities also.
The music program is top notch.
The principal (s) of the school are there to help each child. From what I see, they follow the Harbor program. Which is wonderful! Yes, tough and accountable for a child's actions. But the concept is more for later in life.
That is what I want for my kids. To see and understand what a teacher is suppose to do. The teachers are there as professionals, to teach - Not to put up with any dis-respectfulness. Mr Stollcop does great with following the rules (yes, my boys have visited his office- he's tough)
I do a lot in the scouting programs. I can tell where a child goes to school (public or charter) By how they treat other scouts and especially the leaders.
I feel that my kids are taught a higher standard for today's society here at Legacy Charter.

The staff is professional. They all take their jobs serious. They are courteous. They make my son feel safe. Ever since my son has started at Legacy charter school he has excelled in every subject. I give some credit to the Charter method of teaching, but give most to the teachers.

Terrible school. Principals and teachers are rude and cheap. No sports team. They teach from a democratic view rather than neutral.
