My two children, ages 6 and 12, previously attended a different location where our family experienced difficult and traumatizing situations. Although we were accepted into this campus multiple times, I waited a year before enrolling them. I never believed I would return, but a close friend continued to share how different this location wasand she was right.
Since enrolling, my children are thriving academically and, more importantly, feel safe and genuinely cared for. When an issue did arise, it was handled with grace, maturity, and sincere compassion. As a parent, that response meant everything. Knowing my children are supported and protected each day has brought relief I had not felt in a long time.
The school is a rigorous, very structured environment but it has restored our confidence in education. Clear expectations, consistency, and strong communication have helped my children rebuild their confidence. We feel respected, heard, and supported throughout their educational journey.

Had my children here for years. Bullying was horrific. Intervention was to protect the school not the children.

Our school is more than just a place of learning it's a launchpad for lifelong success. As a K-12 college preparatory institution, we are deeply committed to developing not only academically prepared scholars, but also compassionate, resilient, and forward-thinking individuals.
At the heart of our school culture are our core values: excellence, perseverance, integrity, and kindness. These values are woven into every aspect of our academic and community life, guiding scholars to make meaningful choices and become principled leaders in their communities and beyond.
We believe that academic success is only part of the equation. Thats why we intentionally cultivate essential life and career competencies such as problem solving, time management, collaboration, and self-direction. Through real-world projects, guided independence, and supportive mentorship, our students gain the tools they need to thrive in both college and life.
Our ambitious goal is for 60% or more of our scholars to graduate with an Associate of Arts (AA) degree, and for the remaining students to earn significant college credits. This early college model ensures that all our scholars leave with a strong academic foundation, a head start on their college journey, and the confidence to pursue a prosperous, purpose-driven future.
This is a school where potential is nurtured, character is developed, and futures are built one scholar at a time.

Disappointing Experience
I'm extremely dissatisfied with the way this school is run. The staff's behavior towards students is often unacceptable, with some teachers and administrators being openly dismissive and condescending. Students are belittled in front of their peers, which can be devastating for their self-esteem and the parents that voice concerns are often responded to with blatant gaslighting attempts.
Often more concerning is the way some staff members threaten students, creating a culture of fear.

I am grateful to work at GPMS, especially after moving from one of the large districts in the area. The difference has been incredible. Both the administration and staff truly care about the well-being and success of scholars. My principals are genuinely supportive and make sure the staff feels seen and valued. The school calendar includes several well-timed breaks, helping both teachers and students stay refreshed and focused. Scholars are consistently challenged and held to high standards, and they rise to the occasion. Im thankful for the strong sense of community among colleagues, parents, and administration. Its a place where everyone works together to support student growth and achievement. 10/10 would recommend working here and/or sending your children to this school!

Gem Prep Meridian South (GPMS) does not take threats of violence seriously. On 9/20/2024, a middle school scholar made a credible threat of violence towards the school and other scholars.
GPMS attempted to hide the incident (as they referred to it as) from parents by not notifying them and it was only found out to the masses because a parent made a post on a GPMS Facebook page because their child came home and told them that a scholar was arrested for making violent threats at school.
Once this was found out, many parents attempted to contact the Principal for information and what the school was going to do moving forward. The Principal would not respond to parents and refused requests to hold open meetings. GPMS Administration decided to allow the scholar back onto the school campus after a 5 day suspension.
Safety should be of the utmost importance for a school and GPMS does not appear to care about safety based on their lack of response to the incident.
