I loved this school. My kids were in the GATE program at this school and the teachers were absolutely phenomenal. SO involved, so creative, so friendly and helpful. They felt like family!

Both principals that I had to deal with at Hawthorne were excellent. Involved, creative, kind. I felt like they always were striving for the best for their students and their school.

I don't really know a whole lot about this area at this particular school. There is a wide range of incomes that go to this school with a lot of the kids falling into the poverty range. This school had a lot of teacher and leadership support for all of the kids and had after school programs to support the kids and parents as well as free lunches for everyone. Everywhere I turned there was support for the kids with everyone doing their best to make sure the kids learned and thrived.

We had issues of drama between kids in the 5th and 6th grade. There was one girl that must have been having issues at home and took to bullying some of the other kids. It was dealt with by her teacher and the school principal.

I loved this school. It felt like family to me and my kids. Everyone was so involved and kind and looked out for the kids. They had lots of different events for the kids to participate in and welcomed parental involvement.

I love all the teachers the principle and the whole atmosphere there they do amazing with my daughter who has a bit of medical problems! They really focus on each kid and what that individual child needs to move ahead in life great school !

My kids go to this school most of the teachers and staff are wonderful. They care and really try to help the kids. The office staff, mainly the secretary is incredible rude! Anytime someone has to go into the office she doesnt want to give you her time regardless to what she is doing. She always acts like whatever she is doing is more important than what you need. I would rate this school high minus the incredibly rude secretary!
