This is probably the best school I have ever been too. Although the teachers are somewhat mean, they teach you what needs to be taught and that is all that matters. I would recommend this school for future students like myself who are very engaged in learning the material that is provided. They make sure that you are safe and accounted for. I am a graduate of 2026, and so far I have loved this school. I would not recommend it to future students who are sensitive or get bullied often.

I went to Mountain View for a little over 2 years. One of the biggest problems I faced was with the students: for some students this school is perfect, if your child is white, wealthy and athletic, Id recommend Mountain View. However, due to the demographics of the student body, there are glaring issues with discrimination and bullying. At best, my experience was neutral. Kids will be kids and the teachers arent equipped to handle every students behavior. If you think your child *might* experience these issues, do not expect leadership or faculty to resolve the matter. I know being a teacher is a really really difficult job and we all have off days but.. The vast majority of teachers here dont care for students or teaching as a whole. In the 2 years I went to Mountain View, there were only two teachers I found that cared for their students and actually enjoyed teaching. There are schools in Idaho that have passionate teachers, but Mountain View is just not one of them.
I dealt with a lot of social anxiety and this school made it so much more difficult, if your student or kid is having any issue with students, mental health or bad teachers.. do not send them here.

My daughter enjoys going to Mountain View High School. Shes enrolled in advanced placement classes and feels supported by her teachers. This year she even signed up for classes at BSU so that she can get credits during high school to start BSU as a sophomore. We went to an information night where we learned about the program and one of the counselors helped her map out which classes would be best.

I enjoy the classes, but I've got bitterness toward administration.
Homework: Homework style varies between teachers. Classes like math are the most inconsistent, while elective teachers tend to be more consistent with the way they assign homework.
Teachers: For the most part, teachers are effective. However, there are several problematic teachers here. I've been laughed at by teachers and shamed in front of my class before in a couple different classrooms (and I'm an above average student).
Leadership: Leadership/admin has more issues than I can count. Personally, I've had issues with the way they handle sexual harassment/ sexual assault. The school tells the victim to remain quiet about it and they'll take care of it. They don't take care of it.
Character: Students aren't receptive of the character developments admin tries to put into place because staff and admin don't reflect it. Incredibly hypocritical. Sources of Strength is pretty cool though, so they get a point for character.
Learning Differences: I honestly am not particularly sure
Bullying: Though I've never been in a bullying situation, I've heard countless times that admin doesn't handle it well. They'll run away from problems and silence the students until the problem goes away.
Side Note: MVHS replaced their admin this year. Mr. Miraya is the best (shoutout to Mr. Miraya I guess), and I don't know much about other admin so far. However I have absolutely no trust for former admin or counselors (except Mrs. Funderberg and the career counselors). The teachers at this school are also awesome for the most part, but you have to listen to other people to see who's worth having as a teacher and which classes are worth switching out of.

Students can choose to be challenged based on their course selections. Honors and AP classes will be more challenging and require more time.

My kids have loved all of their teachers, who are experts in their subject areas AND enthusiastic about teaching.

Staff encourages students to join clubs and groups that foster strong relationships and a sense of community.

The school follows all IEP and 504 accommodations.

The school presents anti-bullying videos to students and then students have discussions about the videos. The administration addresses concerns with bullying when reported.

Not even close to trying to stop it. Principal was fired for bulling another staff member and leaving notes under door with homophobic writing

Nope, teachers bully other teachers and certain teachers help their favorite student bully another student. Its the ugly truth

The kids here are so out of control it isnt even funny and very disturbing

Teachers give homework but yet lock kids out of site to do it then yell at them for not getting it done. Teachers forget to put grades in PowerSchool so if they take to long it cant be put in and the students grade is an F and final

Its a horrible place to put a child in

This school is a great school. I love it an I love going here. Mountain view offers a lot of academic courses other schools do not such as culinary arts, pottery, design, drawing, painting and much more this school also offers classes can take at other schools and most of those classes u can get transferred to by bus but sometimes u have to provide ur own transportation. This is not very often that u have to most times they have busses that go to a lot of the different schools and drop u off and pick u up. The classes u can take outside of mountain view that mountain view offers are things such as welding, engineering, and advanced classes such as advanced culinary arts. All in all this is a great school.
