I have had a good experience at this school. The teachers and administrators give their best effort to teach and support the students. The issues that are ran into are the families and students not putting effort into their education and development. There are individualized issues because of teachers being unqualified or disrespectful and students being disrespectful as well. Overall, this school gives what it gets. If you put in the effort you can succeed at this school and will have the resources to do so.

As a current student I wouldn’t say the school is that bad. It is lacking some extracurricular activities, but I am greatful for my education. The lunches are mid but somewhat edible. They are understaffed sometimes but who cares.

Many of these teachers are actually quite degrading to the students and want you to him to contact the administration i.e. the principal you are treated just the same and often the students are yelled at and degraded and demeaned

Please see comments above, this must be a joke. Where did they receive their degrees? I can’t believe that they are actually able to get away with treating children this way as well as adults I believe that they are working with a demographics that doesn’t happen to be extraordinarily let’s say educated so they feel that they can treat them poorly but they’re also trading the ones who are educated poorly. Now we’re going to do something about it

My child has needs but they are not met so I can’t truly answer this effectively because I can’t tell you how they are working with students with special needs to be quite frank what I can tell you is the students that have special needs only leave for an hour a day to go into the special-needs room in my opinion that’s not enough time. The no Child left behind Law is no longer in effect so do something to help them that’s all I can say. Again when you are dealing with a parent who is educated enough to know what you’re doing in that school perhaps you should do your jobs

If my son was not as far along as he is right now in school I would have my son at a different school in a New York minute I do not recommend the school do not send your child to the school your child will not get any kind of extracurricular your child will not get the opportunity to take any type of classes that will be effective or efficient they will not get the same kinds of things that you would see in public school districts right over in south county or in Columbia these are not acceptable the electives that are offered are a joke and of course there are very few of them this is not what you want for your child and if you want your child to be yelled at to be Degraded by the faculty by the staff members and more importantly by the principles themselves then go ahead and send your child here. The Dupo school district is an absolute terrible place.

I graduated in 1972 from Dupo High School. During my high school career I felt that the school had a lot to offer. The quality of the teachers at that time was very good. there were many after school activities. Sports, band, student government and and other clubs related to educational and skill building activities. I felt the school did a good job of preparing students for college and vocational jobs in the work force. I was very disappointed to see the current ratings for Dupo. I'm sure there are many factors that have caused the decline in this rating over the years. I'm not sure how Dupo High School can reverse this trend. I still live in Dupo, and I'm proud to say I graduated from Dupo High School.

They punish kids cause tHe parents don't have money I.e make them eat cheese sandwiches when they haven't even told me I was out of lunch $$ my son can't go to his homecoming because they want over $250 first even though I have ALL yr. to pay it.... It's ONLY sept.... I can't say NOTHING good about the whole district

I've never had to pay for my child to learn. Chorus and art all things all kids should be doing are after school extracurricular activities. My son may not go to homecoming because we haven't paid his $250 school fee, even though you got until end of yr. to pay... And that's just ONE kid... I have 3 worst school of all time and looking to MOVE!!! Oh yeah made my kindergartener eat a cheese sandwich cause they failed to tell me she ran out of lunch money and NOT accredited really could go on and on. My oldest daughter's teacher last yr. punked on her because my husband is dyslexic and don't write very well accused her of signing her own papers, then when confronted to call me like 6 times last year. She NEVER called.

Very poor. Most of the teachers do the best they can with what they have which is very little. There is virtually no art or music program. The main focus is teaching the students enough to pass the standardized state tests and using their baseball & football programs to drive the students. There is no advanced program for exceptionally gifted students, let alone above average students. This school is such a disappointment.

I was a student and graduated in 2001. I know that was almost 12 years ago but I can only offer what I know. The school desperately needs funding and is constantly losing classes. Good sports programs but also in need of funding. The computers that students used to learn were extremely outdated when I went and im sure not much has changed with that. Academically its a little bit under average but not horrible because there are definately worse. Definately in need of more class options and only has basic classes to offer. Great potential to be an average or above average school but lack of funding is really hurting it and is in desperate need of help and being updated. My son now goes to Dupo Elementary wich is outstanding but I am having second thoughts about Dupo High. If it is the same and doesnt change I will be looking for an alternative or unfortunately have to move. Again my experience was from 12 years ago so I can only base my opnion from what I remember. I also hear they have new principles so hopefully something is better.
