Absolutely this school district. The staff and teachers are extremely helpful and love all the kids. My youngest son is special needs and he made huge progress.
This school district is the best in Madison County hands down. People from all over the state move here just for the school district. I highly recommend if you want the best education for your child. Note: My older son graduated Triad with honors and scholarship engineering in college. They did amazing job with him as well. Sincerely, Stephen B.

2 of my daughters have gone completely through the Triad district and with great success. My daughter that graduated in 2018 went through the Running Start program and has just graduated from University of IL with a 3.5, straight A's her senior year and she's 19! She was accepted into the Teach for America program and she has accepted a position with North Side Community School in St Louis. When she finishes her contract she'll be going on to Law school.

This can always be better no matter the school. I have appreciated the TLS program that helps the severely disadvantaged students.

I'm sure bullying probably exists, but my kids say they haven't seen kids being bullied at school. They said the bullying that happens is on social media.

Most teachers do not overload the students with homework; however, a few teachers think the students have nothing to do but the homework for their classes. I do appreciate that most teachers have strict policies concerning due dates and late work.

The Triad teachers go the extra mile to help the students both collectively and individually.

Triad has very strong groups that deal with developing character. I know of at least three clubs that focus on character: Link Crew, Brighter Futures, and TLS Mentors. They might have other clubs with this focus, also.

Each principal has his/her area of responsibility. They work hard to make sure they are consistent, especially with discipline. They also participate with the students in the more fun parts of school.

My kids have loved Triad. As a parent, I have enjoyed their experiences as well. The teachers are excellent. The extra-curriculars are available to any student who wants to participate. No school is perfect, but Triad has been perfect for my kids.

I have been extremely pleased with our experience at Triad. The opportunities for student engagement are endless. They even have clubs designed to give students the chance to be leaders and community volunteers. My children have made many friends and truly feel safe in the environment of Triad. My kids have been pushed to succeed in their classes, and for the most part, they've had excellent teachers. At times, they've had an excessive amount of homework, but that has been primarily with honors classes. The administration goes above and beyond to communicate with parents. We are somewhat new to the community, and we enjoy the regular communication from the administration and staff keeping us in the loop. Overall, I am very pleased with this school. I have encouraged friends in nearby cities to consider moving here simply for the schools.

There is rampant bullying. It goes unresolved and even actively ignored because the bullies are children whose parents are friends with the administration.

The administration actively retaliates against children if their parents speak out.

The principals, counselors, administrators, and even the support staff (bus drivers, secretaries, etc) are vexing to say the least. They hamper the educational process with arbitrary limits and regulations that prevent the students from excelling or reaching their potential. For instance: limiting the number of students allowed to attend the more advanced classes. If you have have a larger number of students capable and interested in advanced classes, why set a limit? No correctional education process for kids who make mistakes. Only harsh levels of public ridicule and detention.

The school administration preaches these traits to the soon-to-be-adults in their charge, but they don't give them any decent examples. They treat the kids like cattle. Students (and parents) at this school have no rights. They have no voice. They are told that the administration has the authority to enact any rule they see fit with no oversight from the parents or community. They answer only to the government. This teaches our kids that their opinions and feelings mean nothing to these authoritarian rulers. No child is permitted to think differently or act singularly. They must fall in line with the process or be left behind and ostracized. Not a good way to bridge into adult life. Kids leave this school with good grades and no ability to function as free thinking, self reliant adults.

I think that the teachers are rather student focused, caring, and engaged in the emotional well being of my children. There are some rather nasty exceptions to this, but overall I am pleased with most of the individual teachers.

This school is safe, and clean, and likely has a high average of graduating students. Statistically, it looks great. The realities are not as pretty.

The faculty behaves like a click. They openly treat long time residents better than those who are new to the district. Academically, they place all their focus on standardized testing. The administration cares very little how well the students actually perform day to day in each class or their emotional health. Placement into honors or other advanced classes is based solely on a single standardized test, regardless of long term past performance. Instead of challenging students, they prefer to have everyone take the lightest class load of the easiest classes. The children are actively encouraged by the counselors and principals to take easier classes to help keep their grade point average up, instead of guiding them to stretch themselves and actually learn something new.

The disciplinary process is archaic. The administration patrols the facility and openly berates students in the halls much like VP Strickland on "Back to the Future". Correctional education is not their concern. Every offense is met with detention. The administration bullies the children. There is no guidance or educational process for kids who make mistakes. There is no discussion to determine what caused the child to err. They are only concerned with order, discipline and their appearance.

The individual teachers, for the most part, are not part of the problem. Many of them seem to really care about their students and work to see them succeed (there are exceptions to this of course).

There is no avenue for parental involvement or oversight. They have committees and meetings where parents and other citizens are welcome to attend, and they will even let you speak. They will meet with you and on rare occasion will even respond to your email. However, all of this falls on deaf ears. They have decided that the one-size-fits-all routine they adopted works because it results in a pretty looking school with shiny floors and nice photo ops. If a parent speaks out, the administration retaliates against the child.

Overall, this school is better than most in the area, but much like most public schools, they are too focused on keeping the politicians happy, and not enough on actually educating our future leaders.

We came to Troy after moving from Europe where my daughters attended a private International school for 5 years. I was searching for a school that would not erase the valuable education they'd received there. We've been in Triad schools (both Middle and High) for 3 years now and I can honestly say it has been an excellent choice. They are getting a quality education, a full range of extracurricular activities, nurturing and involved teachers and a safe environment to thrive. I'm so happy we chose Triad.

My son has autism and Triad's special education program has enabled him to grow academically and develop the social skills needed to live independently. Their program also helps parents by providing information for and about students that we may not have knowledge of.
