The teaching is good but some teachers need to calm down and help us understand problems by not shouting in our faces, and the safety isn’t god from what I’ve heard

principal doesn’t care about students health. dismisses bullying and even blames the victims.

This is the worst JH in the district! My daughter was bullied the two years she was there. I get most schools have this problem but my daughter was physically assaulted twice within a month. The administration tried to get her expelled the second time because she fought back! The administration is terrible, the SRO is terrible and clueless and some teachers are very unprofessional! It’s not a nurturing environment at all, which is what they still need at this age. They are overly strict for no reason and will try to get a student in the most trouble as possible! They will yell and curse in a students face! I get that some kids at this school are animals but that doesn’t mean you have to treat every kid like an animal! My daughter transferred and has never been happier! The administration needs to be replaced!!

As a student, there are so many teachers that are amazing at engaging their students in lessons, but there are also some that couldn’t care less. I’ve always felt safe at FJH, but fights happen often. There’s clear bullying, and teachers and admin don’t really do anything about it. Overall, I like it, but it’s easy not to.

If I could give the school zero stars I would. As a parent it is disheartening to hear about the homophobic and antisemitic things that are said. Both of my kids hated the school environment. The teachers that I have interacted with have been great. The vice principal has been helpful when assistance was needed. I think the classes taught in math and ELA are repetitive and don't advance the students learning.

My experience at this school is / was decent. They don't care about issues due to, homophobia, racism, and personal issues. I am the first boy to be on a dance team out of the parish. I got treated decently for that. My education has been decent. I've always been a middle average student and I didn't see a different except, in social studies. Had a really hard time in 7th grade for social studies it was really hard to get past by. Other than that most of the teachers are amazing, principal is really nice and amazing. The assistant principle.. couldn't say the same. But overall it's a middle average school. For athletics, the teams are good except, football. We have lost every game last year and still are this year.

My daughter hated Fontainebleau Junior High due to bullying issues. She also was 4 years behind in Math thanks to the schools that she attended in St Tammany, and no one told us she was so far behind. We only found out by taking her to a private tutoring center to test her levels. We have since spent $12,000 in tutoring to get her caught up in Math. She is progressing rapidly with a private tutor vs attending that school. She was physically attacked there more than once, so we vowed to never send her back. I have legit fears that they would cause brain damage, and no one at the school ever contacted me to tell me she was injured. The school system was not helpful either, their response "We're sorry to hear that". Nothing else. I would never send any child of mine child there ever. We are doing online school, and I'm considering moving to find better schools for my kids.

Fontainebleau Junior High School is a great school! With my youngest child moving on to the high school next year it will be difficult to say good-bye to so many great people.

FJH is an awesome school with an awesome faculty and staff. Both my boys are in high school now but I enjoyed my years at FJH. I will have some grand children and friends children coming to FJH with in the next 2 years. FJH is a very well run school and that is because of the wonderful staff. I volunteered there when my boys attended and even was the PTA Co-President. I highly recommend this school for this grant. They are in the process of building some new wings so this money would be greatly appreciated and used in many ways.

Very strong administrative team and great group of teachers. This school holds kids to a high academic standard and offers many extracurricular programs.
