My autistic child is currently enrolled at Mandeville Elementary. Scenes his enrollment, I have received weekly negative reports about my son. Also, my autistic son has not been able to attend a single field trip. The day before or even the day of a field trip I will get a call from the school that he is being to difficult and has to go home/ stay home. I will also get calls to pick him up, not because he has a fever or he is sick in any way, but becaUse hes tired. This school is not equipped in anyway shape or form. In fact they believe his stemming is a form of attention seeking.

Really love this school. Principal is fantastic and listens to and concerns you may have. Teacher has been wonderful, both kind and an excellent educator. I like how small it is compared to Pontchartrain. I think elementary schools should be small and nurturing, not huge.

We came to this school after trying a private preschool, that effectively failed my son. This school has been supportive of him and us since the beginning. The teachers are phenomenal. The staff is phenomenal. They generally care about the students and want them to succeed.

Each month the school focuses on a different character trait. The whole school, the staff, in the classroom, etc., looks out for ways to teach about the trait. The school also recognizes students that exhibit the trait.

Having taught for nearly 40 years, In Mandeville Elementary I see caring, giving and prepared instructional leaders. The leadership in Mrs Smith is phenomenal from an outsider looking in. Cant say enough about Mandeville Elementary! Submitted by a grandmother from Vicksburg, MS

We moved from Tennessee and being new to a state is not easy. Our year at MES has been great. It was an easy transition because of the administration team and the wonderful teachers at MES.

My child needed support, and the student support team was reasonable and worked with us to put appropriate plans in place

100% respect this administration. Responsive, positive, community oriented

The "Fishing" program, where kids can be caught being good and doing good for others, works extremely well here. There is an opportunity Hervey morning for kids to tell the entire school what they did the previous day when they were caught being good. Love that- great community building.

The HW seems fair, and my kids are showing growth year over year on basic literacy, math, etc. I do not put much weight on testing, but they are showing mastery on those as well.

Strong administrative team, great principal. Emphasis on positive attitudes, community, etc. The teachers have all been great. We had a snag with one teacher, but after working with the admin team, things have gotten better. The best things about the school are it feels safe and my kids are happy to be there.

My child has attended MES for 3 years now. Absolutely a fantastic school! He's had a great experience, they manage to make learning fun. They cater to individual child's needs and are academically excellent. My child loves MES, he comes out smiling everyday.
