Alpha Montessori School

I felt so comfortable bringing my first born to Alpha that I enrolled my second born when he was old enough. The teachers genuinely care about the children and their families. Time and again as my boys have gone through transitions and milestones, their teachers have been supportive, understanding, and accommodating while also setting boundaries. I feel that we are able to work together to help my children learning new skills taking into account their personalities and developmental age. It’s a very comforting feeling with both parents working and in school.

While not accredited, Montessori principles and materials are present. I am happy to see Montessori phonetic learning and mathematic principles being introduced to the children along with practical life skills. Due to it not being accredited I do not expect them to adhere to strict Montessori education principles. I would say there is a more relaxed approach balanced with plenty of outside time allowing children to learn through social interactions and In the fresh air.

The facility is older, some of the materials are older but cared for, and I do wish they had more staff to support the main teachers, Ms. Victoria (director), Ms. Charlotte and Ms. Wendy however, their rates are so affordable that I’m sure that factors into it possibly. They do have working video monitoring which is a huge plus in my book.

I have yet to meet a parent that sends their kids there that don’t like it.

At first I would be “unnerved” when I heard a teacher raise their voice from time to time. But honestly? They deal with more kids than I do on a daily basis with less help and all of the kids love them….its hard work and takes an amazing amount of patience. I think I might raise my voice more accidentally at home than they do here.

I will always recommend them.

My son attended this school for 2 years. He made a lot of great friends and learned a lot while he attended the school. He enjoyed going to school every day and "working" (Montessori method calls playing, working). My wife and I were very happy that he had great teachers, a good education, unreal hours (6a-6p which is unheard of in the daycare world) and it was all very reasonable pricewise. We have since moved out of state and it was a sad goodbye. We will miss Alpha Montessori.

My grandson has been attending Alpha Montessori School for about a month now and seems to love it. The director was out when I first called but we were able to touch base shortly thereafter. We love his teachers. The thing that impressed me most upon visiting the school was the sense of joy and happiness among the children. They all just seemed to be having a wonderful time. We have been very happy with AMS to date. We've even discovered others we know have their children enrolled in this school, too. The hours are good and it's conveniently located from our home. The tuition is reasonable in today's economy. I would recommend the school.

I toured this facility back in the fall and I was never greeted by the director on both occasions. No one could find the director, and she never returned my calls or my emails. So this is why I showed up again to see the school and meet the director. Again, she was not there and I witnessed staff members talking unprofessional as well as using lewd language towards the children. And this is why I cannot give them a good rating.

I would not recommend this school if you, as a parent, are expecting your child to receive a montessori education. Most of the teachers are not certified. And some treat the children poorly.

All three of my children attended Alpha. The environment was always happy and condusive to learning. The staff was always friendly and kind to me and my children. The older two children are in all honor classes. My youngest still attends Alpha. The Best school ever

I would not recommend this school to parents. I was very pleased with the progress my children were making. However, I withdrew my children because of the staff. Very unprofessional and rude to both children and parents.
