My grandson attends Patrick Taylor. It is a wonderful school in a safe location of the county. My grandson is safe and happy. He is receiving a quality education there. The administration is kind and helpful.

PFTSTA is NOT the impressive force it once was. Once upon a time it was a rare school that focussed on academics, achievement, and college prep, but now it's just like any other public school - solely focussed on unnecessary rules and regulations - like the type of jacket a student can wear or if they dare to go to the vending machine outside of designated hours. It really is a tragedy that JP allowed the gem of a school to lose everything that made it great. How can these students be prepared for college (where they will be expected to be accountable for themselves - with minimal restrictions) when they are treated like small children, or worse - prisoners through their senior year of high school? I still recommend this school over the alternatives in Jefferson Parish because, as of now, there is still a small academic advantage that college admissions will look at and like - but I don't think that will be around much longer. I do hope the administration figures out soon that if you want to run an advanced studies school, you have to treat the students like they are advanced - otherwise, there is zero benefit.

I am proud that my son who is a Senior this year tested into Patrick Taylor and got in! I do feel like the leftest agendas are definitely in this school as many progressive schools are nowadays. I see a lot of disturbing things that are damaging to young people. My son now feels bad for being “white” he’s inundated with liberal leftest agendas such as LGBTQ.....agendas. Socialism is very apparent. I wish they would just focus on teaching children and not worry about making them into socialists. Too liberal but still feel good that he goes to one of the top schools in Jefferson parish. The teachers seem to be very passionate about what they teach. I don’t seem to have a good feeling about the office staff. Sometimes I feel as though I’m bothering them when I have to call about something. Also I think they put too much emphasis on test scores, there’s a class he had to take just on how to score a good grade on the ACT. This generation of school children are just basically test-takers and GPA, ACT, SAT score driven.

THIS SCHOOL IS IN THE MIDDLE OF F***ING NOWHERE AND TRAVEL BY CAR/BUS FROM KENNER/METAIRIE WOULD TAKE FOREVER.

This is a great school! I will definitely send my son here next year! I was only wondering if there is bus service from this school to Kenner. If so how long does it take and what route does the bus take - Huey Long or downtown, since this will add to the travel time. If any current parents have any experience with this please let me know. Patrick Taylor has a great student:teacher ratio and the teachers are top-notch. My child is challenged and LOVES school! The new facility is amazing.

Patrick Taylor has a well rounded curriculum with enthusiastic faculty, staff, and student body. The school has a successful and purpose driven mission to educate students and expose them to the most current technological resources, both in and outside of the classroom. Faculty members consistently work at continuing their own educations, which prepares them and the students for the future. Faculty members are also committed to seeking funding and educational experiences from outside sources to expose the students to a variety of subjects to help them select their future careers. I am very glad that we chose this school for our child.

PFTSTA is an outstanding school! It has all the tools in place to enable a child to be successful in the growing technological workplace - strong academic curriculum focused on bringing out the best in each student, adequate resources to test each child's capabilities, and faculty that posess the desire to educate and grow each student beyond what any parent/guardian could ever expect. The school fosters an enriching learning environment and has each child's interest at the forefront. With state of the art facilities and teaching labs, my child certainly has the best of what this area has to offer at their fingertips.

Patrick Taylor has provided many opportunities for my son to connect with different colleges. The school has provided him with an excellent education and prepared him for college and independency as a young man. The faculty and staff do more than just teach and work at school. They go above and beyond for each student to excel in their own way. The project based learning is fundamental in preparing for everyday living after high school and during future careers. I'm so happy that my son is a Taylor Tiger and I am a proud Taylor Parent.

I am really impressed with Patrick F. Taylor Science & Technology Academy. The faculty and staff really care about the children and what they accomplish. It's a very challenging school but the kids definitely come away better for the experience.

Patrick Taylor is innovative, motivating and on the cutting edge of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math. It's leadership and opportunities are there for all students to embrace. Parent involvement has grown our Co-op to over 500 members. Our staff, teacher and most of all Mrs. Zapico (principal) is readily available for everyone. Our children are getting the best education the state of Louisiana has to offer. Our children are quality, prime-rib, the best of the best. We are a public school so funding can be challenging, but I can guarantee this will be your best donation, wisely spent.

This is a first class public school! I had one son graduate in the first graduating class in 2009 and another son is in 10th grade. The opportunities that are available to the students you cannot get at any other public school. The small school size and the wonderful teachers enhance the educational experience you receive while enrolled at this wonderful school. I cannot brag enough about it!

My daughter started at Patrick Taylor this year. She loves the school. The principal and teachers are all very involved with the students. You can tell the teachers are there to teach and help the students not to earn a paycheck. They also have a program where the seniors have a sixth grade buddy. My daughter loves getting to spend time with her senior. She lives her teachers and the fact that they make learning fun. She feels this is the best choice for her. She wanted to move back to where we used to live when she was young for her junior and senior year to go to the college she wants to go to without having to pay out of state tuition now she says she's not leaving her school she loves it so much.

My son started at PFTSTA this year in the ninth grade. We are really impressed by the campus and teachers that we have met. My son is very happy and says it has been a great choice. I am surprised at the difficulty level of homework , but he seems to have no trouble with his homework. I attribute this to good teachers and an environment conductive to learning. We are very happy with our choice of PFTSTA and feel that out son is getting an excellent education. I went to the co-op meeting and was thrilled to see the number of parents at the meeting.

PFTSTA is an excellent school, providing a rigorous curriculum for grades 6-12. Our son is currently a 6th grader at this school, and we love that his teachers strike the right balance for sixth graders making the difficult transition from grade school to middle school. At the same time, they are preparing the students for the years ahead in high school. There are a large number of AP classes available for high school students, and students learn about technology starting in the sixth grade with a class that not only teaches them computer skills, but also safety. As a small school, it feels like family, with small class sizes and involved parents. We are thrilled with the academic rigor that is balanced with a real concern for the students as individuals.

What an amazing school! The teachers and adminstration are first rate. I have a son who graduation from the school two years ago and a daughter who is currently a junior. They have each received a top notch education. The social issues that are prevalent at other public high schools do not exist at this school - bullying, alcohol and drug abuse, etc. The children feel safe, valued and appreciated. They are now in a state of the art facility. This school is a crown jewel in Jefferson Parish.

Our daughter has been a student here for just over a year now. We couldn't be happier. The staff truly cares about the students and their success to a level I have never before experienced. Everyone - students and staff alike - is here because they *want* to be here, not because they have to be. Ms. Zapico has done a wonderful job of fostering an environment where all students are welcomed and encouraged. I would urge anyone looking for an advanced studies academy in the area to take a long, hard look at PFTSTA - it's been an incredible opportunity for our daughter! And an incredible opportunity for us, as a family, to be fully involved and invested in our child's education.

My daughter started her this year in sixth grade, it has been an easy transition to the middle school atmosphere. The school's new campus is complimented by a very caring and dedicated staff. The school is an excellent choice for advanced academic curriculum. I am truly gratefull my daughter has the opportunity to part of something so well put together.

My son can enjoy being smart here and feel in like company. The teachers challenge the kids to aspire to fulfilling careers by not only getting them well primed for college but meshing advanced education with the life skills of cooperative teamwork and public speaking. The beautiful new campus clearly reflects this school's mission to have it's students "armed and ready" for their promising futures.

Small enrollment results in a close-knit community of students and faculty. My son is getting a top-notch education, already learning basic engineering principles in 7th grade! There is great pride in the school, an emphasis on community service, and many opportunities for extra-curricular involvement. I am proud that my child is a Taylor Tiger!

This school only caters to one type of student. Unfortunately, if you're not that type, you'll have trouble succeeding at PFTSTA. As a student, I felt that I wasn't allowed to be just that -- a student. In the 7th grade they expected us to be adults and treated us like we were dumb if we showed any sort of a childlike personality. The teachers and administrators were not open to every type of person. My faith was constantly being tested and I actually had a faculty member get very angry at my mother and I because I was too shy. There are a ton of students and parents who love this school and I'm sure it opens up many doors academically. But please keep in mind that schools are about more than just academics.
