The principal isn’t involved at all! They don’t believe in recess or any free time for middle schoolers after they say we need to be outside and they make it known we need to go outside! There’s people who constantly dictate the school, for their kids because they don’t believe their kid did anything wrong, therefore the kid won’t have any consequences. There’s a decent amount of good teachers, but when the principal doesn’t communicate it doesn’t work

We have had a great experience with the Principal and Asst. Principal and we are VERY EXCITED that the Asst. Principal became Principal this year after the Principal retired. They new Principal is so down to earth. You can tell she really cares about the students.

My daughter is in the Immersion program and is learning in both English and Spanish. Sometimes the teacher has to go back and repeat things in english to make sure the information is understood.

We haven't experience any bullying. The only thing I have experience is kids being kids. Friends one day and then not the next. - then friends again.

My daughter started Ellis in 4th grade and is now in 7th grade. - She has never had any problems with the amount or length of homework and she doesn't get off the school bus until 5:30. If she doesn't have written homework - I tell her her homework is to study!

So far so good. My daughter has had some really amazing teachers. She has learned a lot and her Leap scores were amazing. Mastery and Advanced. Also they have great communication if I emailed them with a question or concern they have messages me back with in a day.

This school helps the children make good choices, teaches them how to be responsible. They learn how to be dependable and trustworthy. The school helps them build themselves up and set goals for themselves that they can and will reach!

We have had a great experience. The teachers and staff have been great. They went above and beyond when my child transferred in a few years ago. We have always felt welcome at the school.

They do not want to be bothered with interventions unless parents make a big stink. They are quick to write off all LD’s as ADD/ADHD.

Posted: August 23, 2018

Teachers are allowed to bully and when confronted claim to he close friends with the principal. The principal does not help or step in on behalf of students.

Posted: August 23, 2018

Horrible, destructive, negative, and unacceptable. I pulled my child out, despite the tack we live walking distance.

Posted: August 23, 2018

Too much homework for young children. Not in line with current research on age appropriate homework.

Posted: August 23, 2018

Some of the teachers seem motivated but lack support from administration. Other teachers seem checked out, only there for paycheck and have clearly stopped trying or caring.

Bullying, vandalism and theft is allowed. Older students can act as they please with zero real consequence... other than having their names yelled angrily over the loud speaker.

My son has adjusted well in this new atmosphere. I would like to Thank his teachers for their support and for making both of us comfortable. Thanks to Ms. Bertucci, Ms.Crider and Ms.Ridgley

The office staff is not friendly at all, they let you stand there for minutes before they acknowledge that you're there . There aren't enough people of color or male teachers.

Ran! The school is majorly unpopular, the teacher themselves talk about it. The office staff is horrible! There's no communication, very unfriendly to parents who call just to see about there children. If your child needs to go home or has an accident they'll tell them to dry. If you want to put your child in the aftercare. Beware to have your child hit, pushed, left alone, and crying themselves to a stupor by the same people who are suppose to watch them. I witness this my self then told the principal. Nothing has changed. When I wanted to take my child out of school was told I wasn't allowed. I found out from the civil rights of schools department you can your child out any school at any time. The teachers have to many students to put the attention to students. I spoke with a students mom she was told here in America you have to wait to receive services. Ran do not be fooled by the high rating its only from testing from the fifth grade leap that's all.

No the schools lack of communication and parent involvement should raise a lot questions. The school board should see to this

Posted: July 14, 2015

This school doesn't want parnes involvement any way shape or form. there's no communication or seeing them. Calls and emails go unanswered. the aftercare program is jail with hitting the children. Horrible school needs to be investigated.

We are so thankful to have our daughter enrolled at JC Ellis. She is in the immersion program for Spanish and has excelled in all aspects since she began attending in August. This is a top-notch school with teachers and administration that genuinely care.
