I taught at this school years ago and I really enjoyed my experience at this school. I previously taught at a school in Ascension Parish and I hated it. At Henry Ford the students can actually read and comprehend what they read. At the school I worked at in Ascension Parish, I was lucky to have an eighth grade student read on a second grade level. At my school in Ascension we knew a couple of weeks prior to evaluation that the school was going to be evaluated and we went to the perfect school role and acted like a good school is supposed to act. It was nothing but a horse and pony show. When I accepted a job at Henry Ford, I thought that I died and went to heaven. I had no problems with the students and I was amazed at how efficient Henry Ford was. When some people told me that Henry Ford was the worst school in Jefferson Parish, I told those people that they sure didn't know what the word worst really meant. My only regret was that I wished that I had started my career working at a school in Jefferson Parish. At Ford, the teachers really cared for the students and the majority of students really cared about their education.

My grandson is attending Henry Ford Middle School for the second year and transition from 7 to 8 grades seems is to going well. He is looking forward to working with his new teachers and trying out for the football team. No complaints so far about his class studies. The atmosphere at Henry Ford Middle is one of very good origanization for parents and students.
