I do not recommend going to this school. This school is terrible. The teachers are alright, but some staffs will just give you a dirty glare or yell at you for a simple question. They won't let you explain yourself at all. One example I experienced was when trying to go to Talented Art class, but was turned away by a staff. To go there, you need a pass. I had a pass, and it was right infront of their face in my backpack. By the way, there was no testing or any shutdown around the hall with the class in it today, and I got turned away. There is so much more examples. In the classroom, the students misbehaves every single day. It's hard to contain them. They're noisy, they act like they have no brains. Students here do not know basic manners. That is the problem. The students are quite literally the biggest problem. They cause problems, fights, entirely brainless. Most students here also has the most lowest academic scores mankind. I'm so glad I'm not staying in this school next year. Such nice building does not deserve this monstrosity of disrespectful staffs and weird kids. This is disappointing. Last year, everything was fine. I got student of the year, good grades, and actually loved my school and the students. The students there were not as bad as T.H. Harris's students. I genuinely hate this school. I'm so relieved to move away from that garbage school. I dread coming here every day. I'm so done with this school. This school also kind of ruined my self esteem because of these staffs and students. Do not come here.

I am currently a seventh grader in this school. I would say that the programs are very welcoming and easy to get in. I am in the talented theatre program and it is a really good, welcoming and fun programs much like the rest of the programs in this school. Based on how well they give some tools for people that have sped or anything else really, I would say that they don't have the best programs for that kind of stuff really. I experience seeing some fights more often now and I feel like maybe the school should be more engaging to solve this problem with the students constantly talking in class and not letting the teacher actually teach, the teachers almost always have to tell the class to be quiet. Overall though the teachers do try and stop these fights so overall the school is okay.

If you can afford to live in Metairie, you can afford private schools that is the best route. These students at T.H.Harris are not getting a decent education. Parents with children who have special needs (SPED) or IEP will not get it here. The resources and discipline are lacking and there seems to be communication issue with the non-english speaking student population.

As long as we live in the school zone that is zoned for my child to attend a brick and mortar school, and TH Harris is the school for attendance, I will have him homeschooled.

Took teacher over a week to return my call, and still did not. She sent a shoddy message in the dojo app, and was in no way warm or inviting. Coupled with the nastiness of this principal, these things helped me decide to home school my child. As an entrepreneur, the last thing I need is to have to deal with people who hate their careers and choose to bully children, and are EXTREMELY unprofessional!!!

The leadership at this school is lacking. The leadership at this school is unprofessional. The leadership at this school abuses its authority. The leadership at this school is more concerned about children branding the school with logos, than educating the warm bodies that are there. The leadership at this school needs to be replaced.

I'm happy my other 3 children will never step foot in this school THANK GOD ITS TRULY A BLESSING MATAS GOES TO 8th grade. I would rather home school my kids. TH Harris needs to be shut down I've never counter day schoolI could care less

T H Harris is a school where every child can get a great education. It is truly available to any one who wants to learn. The faculty creates a safe/secure environment for the students and go out of their way to support them. There is a lot of diversity at Harris, which means that the students are being prepared for LIFE/SOCIETY as it is...many different cultures, all contributing to our community. Would be great to have a school based service club that could do things like, paint the parking bumpers along w metairie...encourage recycling at the school...provide homework help for struggling peers???

My child went to this school and it was one one of the worst schools ever. My child has medical issues and learning disabilities and falls under 504 accommodations. NONE of the administration or teachers accommodated my child in any way. In fact, after my child was tested for reading, I was told my child was lazy (in front of other parents and students) bc it took them longer to take the test. Even though, I took the time to speak, email, and put to paper all my child's issues and concerns things were still neglected. Im just glad my child got out of there worse off (and that's thanks to MY parenting). Word of advice to all parents (esp those with special needs: DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!!! EMAILS!!! FIND AN ADVOCATE. CALL SCHOOL BOARD! They can't tell you you didn't do your part.

I am going to be graduating this year and I have been at Harris for all three years and each year was absolutely wonderful. I loved the teachers and the principal and dissaplanarions are very understanding and focused. I loved my years at Harris.
