I have 2 boys that come to this school Not only do they love it and love their teachers and their aids but every single person there has Impacted their lives for the better I cannot recommend another School I would ever send my 2 special needs children to go too the work that they do there is just phenomenal I am so incredibly grateful For these incredible People who are preparing my sons for their future Anyone that writes a negative review obviously has not gone to the school this is a wonderful School it was Is established in 1968 and has benefited so many people and it should continue to stay Grace King because it's our school nobody elses Thank you everyone for all the work that you do from All of the kids and the parents

It seems attendance is all they care about. The education of the child is pretty much last on the priority list.

It just depends. If you're not in an honors or AP class, then normally they are not. In those cases, this school is more like a glorified daycare. Honors teachers have always been capable in my eyes, but comparing to my past teachers (I was in the magnet system from 5th through 8th) they are mediocre at best.

The school does not attempt to develop character in its students, and it shows. That's not to say that students here are bad, but it's not like it's the school's "character-building" that deserves credit. Some kids here are beyond disrespectful and rude, and some of them have no sense of social norms, good behavior, and respect. Not all of them, but enough to make me worry.

Leadership? Far from it. The administration at this school across the board is laughable. Incompetent clerks, unnecessary and sometimes near-inhumane discipline policies, a new principal that has taken the "school is a prison" approach, and just a general lazy attitude towards anything (complaints, requests for forms/information, enrollment, schedule changes, and so on).

As a normal student, I do not see this side of the school in any regard and, as such, can not comment on its ability to support special learning or special needs. I know the programs are there, but I am unsure of their quality.

They do have a strict zero tolerance policy, but its effectiveness depends. Bullying is a rare sight, anyways. It's kind of funny but you actually don't get bullied a lot here if you stay away from trouble. A much major issue is emotional and/or psychological trauma that some kids have from their personal lives. Some of these kids go through hell while at home and show up the next day with a smile on their face, and it hurts that the school does nothing to try and lessen that load while they're in a safer environment.

Grace King is like the ultimate metaphor for modern society. Unfair treatment, lazy administration, all walks of life in the same room together, and an unclear goal.
Don't come here unless all you need is the diploma to further your future goals. If you want a good education, scholarship opportunities, and/or literally anything that would improve your education, do not come here. This is the losers' brewing pot. There's a reason we aren't in the advanced academies.

Ha, that's funny. Homework is rarely given. If it is, most students do not complete it. The only time you'll see homework is either in an honors class or AP class, but even then it's a rare sight. And even in those classes with the "smarter bunch," most kids simply have no work ethic to complete it, including myself.

It's so terrible. It's absolutely too much to list. Nobody knows what they're doing and it's a constant fight. It's like pulling teeth to get anything done because staff are so lazy and student leadership boards are filled with students who bully and spread rumors about others.

It was good at first but it progressively got worse and worse. It's my senior year now and I'm constantly so stressed. NOT at all because of coursework, but because of the pure laziness and ignorance of the staff. I've had to fight them for so much that I should have to. (fun fact: my grade level was wrong and I went twice to get it fixed and I ended up having to email the principal to fix it because the counselors are so incompetent. And THEN after fighting to get it fixed, they still failed to print my ID correctly so I'm still being pegged as an 11th grader when I shouldn't be! Thus creating MORE fights I have to make for the rest of the year in order to get what I need since my ID is wrong! yaaay)

Many teachers do not assign it. As a student, I obviously don't want homework but I do realize that it would help if we had a little bit of it.

Most of the teachers I've had have been great and have prepared me well for state exams and helped me perform what I needed to. Honors and AP teachers go above and beyond to help their students and I've had teachers from those courses tutor me with classes they don't teach because they love helping students that much.

I hate this school! The new principal comes there and just changes everything. The traditions we've been doing and everything. They make us not want to attend school. When mrs.griffon was there she made the school fun but now it's like we're in prison!

I am I Freshman at Grace King. Class of 2018! This is a wonderful school, the teachers are great and they push you to do your best daily! At GK we have many different opportunities to help our education, like AP courses and Honors. There is also and ample amount of activities to be in. I am class vice president and it is a lot of fun .We have football, Student council, dance team, pep squad, cheerleading and even video game club along with others.GK is a B school and our principal expects nothing less. Of course we do have some rules that we think are unfair but they do them for our protection. We may have a label from the past as a "D" school and some of the kids are not civil as well.All schools have that group of people and the disciplinarians handle it very well. This whole year we have only had a small handful of fights and of course none were gun related. All in all I love Grace King and honestly it is the best school I have ever been to and I feel that I am a better person because of it!

I'm a Senior of Grace King , Class of 2015 , Grace King taught me so many things that's I've never knew , Its a blessing to wake up every Morning to come to school . The teachers are there for you thick and thin Im very proud of my school because we work very hard to make things happen at Grace king Some of the rules may be unfair , but we know how to suck it up and move on . Any parents looking for a high school to bring there child send them to Grace King .

Assistant Principal Suzan Serigny should resign as she is the single worst administrator I have ever worked under. She overly identifies with problem students who cause a lot of disciplinary problems and actively backs them up as they give staff and other students a hard time. I was a new teacher working under Serigny and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. Serigny was extremely abrasive and offensive in a way that was completely unprofessional. She is a disgrace to her profession and should go into a new line of work

I'm a freshman at Grace King, and this school...well, this school is alright. I have found that the educational amounting of Grace King exceeds my expectations in some points (The Geometry courses are sipmly amazing!) but also lack in others (Creative writing: No creativity whatsoever.). Being in the advanced classes, I still do not feel like I am doing my highest possible range of work, but that's what the school gives us. As for students, Grace King is a great enviroment. When I first showed up, I was really scared, because I didn't have the best experiances with school the past few years. But the student body really accepted me, and I have lots of friends all over the grades. The Seniors are very helpful! The school is lacking in a good Band Program, but is working hard to get up to highschool level. The Band room, to our dismay, is the only room that hasn't been renovated. We also lack in support for our Girls Soccer team. Altogether, Grace King is a wonderful school! There's so much to do, and if you play your cards right, you can have a lot of fun!

I'm new to this school. I came from bonnabel high. My first few weeks were ok . Then people started to mess with me. The other day a guy him me .(I'm a girl). I'm new and no one knows me and everyone knows him bc he's "popular" . So they all said he didn't hit me . I got in trouble for him hitting me . Since then I been bullied everyday and it's still going on. I got to the point were I HAVE to be taking out of this school and be online schooled bc I can't deal with bullied and me getting in trouble for what they did. Also you can barely learn everyday the teachers teach something new, they think you can learn all that stuff in 90 mins. If I were you I wouldn't send your kid here .

Perfect! Everyone is nice there, the block schedule works perfect, there's only 20-25 students in a class, a lot of teachers, a safe school, good environment, a clean campus, it's just a great school overall! If you live in this district, SEND THEM HERE! It's perfect!

The principal at this school, Meg Griffon is horrible with the school. She tries to run the school with an iron fist, but that has only made the students hate going to school, and one teacher even stated to me that they are all too intimidated to go to the principal with any opinion other than hers for fear of being fired! She has also had no parent involvement whatsoever since she's been assigned as principal. She claims she has an open door policy, but this is simply not true! Her assistant principal has been much more helpful towards both the parents and the students than Mrs. Griffon has ever been!

I graduated in 2010 and I miss every bit of high school! Those 4 years were so much fun! I enjoyed the classes, the teachers, the extracurricular activities (mainly JROTC), and the overall environment! I wish that I could do it all over again - Bissonet, Meisler, and Grace King!!!
