My son doesn’t even go to this school he’s only in the summer program and so far it’s terrible only a few teachers are respectful but over all there’s a teacher who doesn’t know how to compose herself correctly as an adult and who doesn’t know how to interact with the parents she didn’t give me a clear instruction in the carpool lane and she got heated just because I signal to her that I’m still waiting on my child just because I didn’t move up to THE BLUE LINE God forbid making a simple mistake is a crime she proceeded to get my son and she brought him to the car to not only YELL at me in front of him like I’m a child she didn’t let me get a word in and LUCKILY my child was fully in the car she slammed my door shut I never been disrespected like that ever especially when I know I wasn’t disrespectful to begin with she talked to me crazy with so much ease like she was right so just imagine how many others she talked to like that and nothing happens it’s truly sad.

Our child attended Solis for 2 years. I can't really complain about Pre-K, but our Kindergarten year was bad. Our child has a learning disability, so requires special-ed. Our child is probably gifted if anything, & has more of a behavior issue. We have a BIG problem with the whole Special-Ed Dept. in Jefferson Parish. We got a letter in early summer before pre-k saying we would be at another school, & literally the day school started, we got a call saying we would be at Solis. We didn't have our original special ed teacher back for kindergarten (we loved her in pre-K). So we get a new teacher, who wasn't actually a new teacher to special ed, but from another parish, and used the excuse that she was new for at least the first half of the school year. We go to orientation for kindergarten , & we are told we might have a certain teacher for for reg. ed, but it wasn't definite. That teacher even met with us, but basically from that point on, we never felt like our child was considered her student & only viewed as a SPED kid. After we figured out that she was indeed supposed to be our reg teacher, we found out that they didn't even bother to send our child to her class for at least the first month (maybe a few minutes if that), and then after that month, they barely brought our child into the kindergarten room because she was out sick, and they didn't want SPED kid with substitute (They had same substitute though). Our IEP read that half of the day was supposed to be in reg ed. We sent a text to special ed teacher asking for a copy of minutes in SPED/reg. ed (We didn't expect it to be minute, by minute). She told us on phone she doesn't keep a log. So from that point on the teacher would only call (rarely) & not send texts or written messages back, or bother to answer at all. Our child learned the routine of special-ed room, which was more like a pre-k room & playing Go-Noodles, & then when we questioned why reg ed was being limited, we got excuses. We called for an IEP meeting that didn't happen- They acted like it was just a meeting. We were given date and time for IEP meeting, & even tried to verify it by emailing principal & texting teacher to verify & never got a response. WE showed up to office but they didn't have staff or bother to write out new IEP. This school does not believe in inclusion for special ed students.
