SCI High is top tier! There are so many opportunities for students to get plugged in. From the band, led/taught from a current local musician that has traveled the world, to a young men's club that dresses up every week, dedicated track & field & cross country coaches, carpentry, invested teachers and staff, with a very safe environment, paid internships, partnership with oschner, a full CNA program, all under the leadership of Dr. Cola, the ONLY black female neuroscientist in Louisiana! I could go on and on, but in short, I am so thankful that my 2 kiddos attend here, and my 3rd child will be attending next year!

Sci-High has computers and translators to help students who have difficulties speaking English.

They do not protect kids who are bullied and condemn the bullied when they protect themselves. The social worker talks about the students to faculty/ staff (of what she knows or think she knows). For this reason, students are leery about going to them with problems.

Math and Science is a great school. The teachers and the rest of the staff genuinely care about students and want them to succeed. The school is now under FANTASTIC new leadership from former NOCSM teachers who understand the needs of their students and are willing to work with them to help them excel. With the Sci High administration becoming more stable this school can only get better. There is a great AP program, and the teachers work very hard to make sure students are prepared for AP exams (that all Sci High students get the opportunity to take for free) at the end of the year.

My kid excels here the teachers care about the students, only complaints i hear about is the cafeteria food.
