I am an 8th grade student at this school and I would not recommend bringing ur student here Ive heard better things about other schools than this one teachers will give you a work sheet barely explain and expect you to do it and if you dont know how then you have to figure it out on ur own theres been 2 physical fights at this school and a lot of verbal fights and nothing is done there only solution is to call home and thats it Ive been here since pre-k and nothings changed since then

The leadership is nonexistent. The principal is horrible - she does nothing while the Vice Principal does all the work.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!! If the students are unsure of how to do something they are called "Stupid" by teachers.

My daughter and I have been trying to deal with just the Vice Principal on a bullying issue - name calling done in person and online, water being dumped into her locker several times - yet nothing is being done. My next move is the Superintendent & Home Schooling cause I do not trust any school in Somerville because of WSNS.

I have 2 children in this school both started in Kindergarten - 1 is almost done & the other I may home school.... I would highly recommend you do not send your child to this school.

They give students homework but when they get home & you tell them to do it - they tell you they don't know how... "What do you mean you don't know how - their response - they didn't teach us how to do it....

Their is no discipline for the students, so NO there is no compassion or respect.

My 5th grader has been attending this school since kindergarten. We love it. A true neighborhood school. Great teachers, very strong school community and "spirit." Kids come out of the building laughing and smiling and hugging each other. They make lifelong friends. The school serves several different populations at once, and so there is both diversity but also issues of transience, which tend to pull academic ranking down. For those of us who stay, it's an absolute gem.
