Hello, I'm currently in my first year of high school and I used to be a student at LCA. I went there for two and a half years. Please keep in mind that I'm really bad at communication when you read my review.

LCA's top priority was money, not students. Most of the students I was surrounded by did not care about their education and didn't do their work. The teachers did nothing to encourage or help these students. I struggled a lot at this school and only started doing well when I transferred to a public school.

I had a horrible experience with the staff at this school. They made assumptions about me based on stereotypes and accused me of horrid things. They seemed extremely prejudiced against neurodivergent students and looked for any reason to punish us while neurotypical students could discriminate against marginalized groups and call others slurs without any discipline. The reason I only went to LCA for half of eighth grade was because I had an extremely traumatizing experience with the staff and my parents had to pull me out.

I did not receive the accommodations and help at LCA that I do now. Neither did other students around me who were in need of them. This school does not care about students with special needs, please do not send your child to this school if they have them.

Students were completely free to make homophobic and transphobic comments, none of the teachers or staff cared. I remember hearing students talk about violent things they would like to do to queer people. I was ostracized by students because I was suspected to be queer along with showing neurodivergent traits (I was not diagnosed at the time.) All of this combined with my experience with the staff had a horrible impact on my mental health.

Working at Lexington Christian Academy has been a blessing! Its a place where meaningful work and shared values come together. The focus on both academic excellence and spiritual formation creates a unique environment where staff feel supported and students are truly cared for deeply. Theres a strong sense of purpose in helping students grow not just in knowledge, but in character and faith. The leadership is thoughtful, encouraging, and full of grace. The team culture is collaborative, joyful, and mission-driven. Its a place where your work mattersand where you're reminded daily of the impact education has on a students life.

LCA has been an incredible blessing for our family. Both our daughters attend and have since 6th grade. They are thriving at LCA. We are so grateful for the whole person education they are receiving. Not only are they stretched academically, they are being nurtured spiritually and emotionally. The faculty and staff at LCA care deeply about the success and well-being of the students. It's evident in parent-teacher conferences and in the way they affirm and support our girls. Students in turn care about one another. There is a strong sense of community at LCA and we've encountered no bullying. As our oldest prepares to apply to colleges, we've appreciated the advice and support we're receiving. We're encouraged (and not surprised) to see LCA grads get accepted into excellent schools. We wholeheartedly recommend LCA!

Disclaimer: This review reflects our personal experiences and opinions regarding Lexington Christian Academy (LCA). Others may have had different experiences, and we encourage families to conduct their own research when choosing a school.

We enrolled our child at LCA with high hopes for a nurturing and supportive environment. Unfortunately, our experience did not match our expectations.

When our family needed support, we often received responses that felt impersonal and dismissive. Communication with the administration sometimes seemed more focused on maintaining policies and the school's image rather than providing meaningful assistance to our child. This led to a sense of feeling unheard and unsupported during a difficult time.

At a certain point, it felt as though the school was no longer open to working with us. We were not offered a compassionate conversation or a chance to share our perspective. Instead, we felt as though the door was quietly closed, leaving us to navigate the situation on our own.

We were also concerned about LCAs "no refund" policy. In our view, this policy created a challenging dynamic where it felt like there was little incentive for the school to find a positive resolution. We recommend that other families carefully consider how this policy might impact them if unexpected challenges arise.

Even after our departure, we continued to receive routine school communicationsannouncements and celebrations that reminded us of a community where we had not felt welcomed. While this may have been an oversight, it added to our sense of isolation.

We understand that no school is perfect, and our intent is not to discourage families from considering LCA. However, based on our experience, we suggest asking thorough questions and ensuring the school's culture aligns with your familys values and needs.

This review is based on our individual experience. We encourage prospective families to visit LCA, speak with current community members, and gather all the information needed to make an informed decision.

Family of multiple LCA alums. We chose this small, Christian school despite living in one of the top districts in Massachusetts.

Have found dedicated teachers who really strive to support and grow their students through academics, spiritual leadership and emotional welfare. Students are challenged with a vigorous curriculum and are well prepared when they graduate for college.

Administration has improved dramatically over the past year culminating with the appointment of a new Head of School who background, vision and enthusiasm has brought a renewed joy to the school.

LCA has become a positive and refreshing change having come from a high ranking public school system that was an embarrassment and disappointment to say the least. This school is where academics and human values thrive, a perfect match for us truly. The school demands a lot academically, and lets face it, the no homework, A for effort culture wont work or help to prepare students for the demands of a college education. The community is supportive, engaging and encourages the best that your child is capable of, whether they know it yet or not. This school is an investment in your child, and it has been more than worth it as we watch our children thrive, get excited to go to school to learn every single day, analyze and think critically, and make beautiful friendships that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.

My daughter is 9th grade and has been going to Lexington Christian Academy since 7th grade. LCA has been a good school for my daughter. The teachers and staff are very helpful and committed both to the students and parents. During in-person learning time, they created a safe learning environment for the students. My daughter and I always recommend this school to everyone.

Our son has been attending LCA since 6th grade and is now in the Upper School. We love everything about LCA. The head of school is amazing - truly committed to the students and the overall LCA community. The teachers are top notch and are devoted to academic excellence and the overall well-being of each child.

We have been particularly impressed with LCA's handling of the pandemic. LCA was able to swiftly put a plan in place for remote learning last spring. That plan allowed the classes to move forward in the curriculum. While many other schools were stuck in "review mode" for nearly two months, our son's classes were progressing through the curriculum. This year, we've been even more impressed with LCA's commitment to in-person learning as well as keeping the students safe. They have found the perfect balance or those two objectives.

We highly recommend LCA! It's great!

Our family has been a part of the Lexington Christian Academy community for five years. My daughter is a 10th grader in the Upper School.
2020 has been a year like no other and LCA has risen to the challenge to provide an excellent education. When the pandemic hit, forcing all schools to close, LCA was able to pivot to online learning within a couple of weeks. The administration and staff worked tirelessly to create a learning experience as close to what is provided in-person at LCA. As parents, we were incredibly grateful and impressed that they were able to have the technology, support, and provide consistent and clear communication to all parents and students.
This school year, LCA has been in-person with some remote days. The transition between the two has been seamless. In a time of uncertainty, LCA has taken all the necessary precautions to allow students and staff to be in-person at LCA. Smaller student cohorts, daily health checks, clear safety guidelines, and social distancing allow me to feel confident sending my daughter to LCA. They have a plan and backup plans and have thought about many different scenarios.
My daughter is thriving and loves LCA. She has played field hockey, made new friends, deepened her faith, and the academic instruction is excellent. She is learning, growing, and being supported by her experiences at LCA. The teachers are wonderful educators who really partner with us as parents to help her succeed in all aspects of school life.
We highly recommend Lexington Christian Academy!

We love LCA. My child started in sixth grade and we plan for our child to stay through twelfth grade. We were looking for small class size and a school that would focus not only on academics but the whole student (Mind, Body and Soul). Our child has grown in academics and confidence. The teachers and administration care about the students and work together to make LCA a great learning community.

My son has had a wonderful experience at LCA. He has attended for middle school and now part of high school and is truly flourishing in this wonderful learning environment. As a parent of a black son, I was very interested in a school that values diversity and LCA is living up to it's calling to Christian Leadership in this regard as well as in academics. Going beyond the wonderful Students of Color club, the school has invested time and resources in inviting guest artists of color, and creating leadership spaces for listening and learning about race issues. We are thrilled to be here. With great leadership, it is getting better every year. I highly recommend LCA.

We are so pleased that we sent our daughter to Lexington Christian Academy. The teachers and staff members take a genuine interest in the students academic progress and general well being. The course work is challenging, but teachers provide lots of academic support so that students will be successful. In addition, the music and arts programs are among the best I have seen anywhere.

I feel like there is too much homework pressure on LCA students, but assignments are easily tracked and managed through the school's excellent online portal.

We were especially impressed with the school's response to the current coronavirus pandemic. The school leadership quickly put together a distance learning program that feels cohesive and comprehensive.
