Terrible school ! The principal is Mrs. Hammond she doesn't care about the children. My child needed to call me for a change of clothes after another kid pored his water bottle on him . And the principal didn't let him call me! My child had to spend the rest of the day at school in wet clothes. All the good teachers left and both of the counselors left too at the same time! The Paraeducators leave and new ones come in but they don't stay long , this school can't keep their staff. The principal is never there! I see other schools near by that principal is outside in the mornings helping to get the kids off the bus or from the car line . Not this one , not sure what she's doing but she is definitely not caring about the kids or the staff. I saw one lady rushing out of the building crying she looked like she went thru something awful.

Having a child in this school for over 11 years now, I have seen it come back post-COVID to get community engagement, teacher morale, and school activities increased. A majority of the staff I have encountered over the years is very kind and wants to do everything they can to help the children succeed. There are challenges in the community with kids not following the rules, and specifically kids that started in online school. As there is everywhere.

Best school in Germantown. Diversity in school. I transfered my daughter from rockville to waters landing elementary school after a friend suggested. My daughter was bullied in rockville elementary after complaining many times school didnt take any action. I am very happy after moving to waters landing. My daughter is happy about her classs mates and teachers are welcoming. Her test score has increased comparatively from her previous school. The teachers are helping out students indvidually to achieve the success. Best part no to bullying here, and good environment

We are new to WLES …
We are utterly disgusted. Ms.Hammond the principal is rude beyond comprehension. The front office staff is very rude as well. I requested to speak to the principal several times within the first week and a half. She never returned my calls. I called the director of WLES and all of a sudden she calls and fabricated that she called and left a voicemail. She was very argumentative and never resolved my issue. She was very condescending and facetious.while speaking with her. My daughters teacher (3rd grade) has an accent that I can’t even understand. No communication folder no homework folder.Mu daughter has come home almost daily and shared how disrespectful and rude the students are. They curse use the “ N” word a lot A white student said that “white is superior “ . I will not tolerate the unprofessionalism . I will be contacting any all persons to share our experiences. I hate that we have to deal with this kind of situation. My daughter is a honor roll student. She was placed in an advanced math class on her third day. She is a quite respectful student. I am so angry that we are in this school district

Kids are unruly and plagued with bullying. The school staff is part of the problem. It seems that they look the other way at any incident. Forget trying to get help from the administration, they will gaslight you to no end. Move to another district, this place it toxic.

I initially sent my son to a private school for Kindergarten because I thought the reviews of WLES weren't good. The private school didn't work out and I sent him to WLES a few months into his Kindergarten school year. He was welcomed to his class and had no issues with the transition. In fact, my son thrived at WLES, both academically and socially. As an involved parent (joined the PTA, volunteered and participated in school activities) I got to become familiar with the staff and students at WLES and found the people and school environment inviting.

Horrible experience! The staff in that school needs to be more involved with the kids. Principal and Assistant Principal should be aware of what goes on at there school. The staff needs to be trained correctly when it comes to bullying and what to do next! Not a safe school at all!

I have a first grader so still relatively new in the school system, but so far so good. My daughter has loved both of her teachers. They've both been very responsive to emails. I'm fortunate that my daughter is a good student and has stayed out of trouble and not had any bullying issues, so I can't speak to how those types of things are handled. Overall, we are very happy.

Poor parent communication and parent involvement in the classroom is not supported by teachers.

A lot of problems with bullying and poor student supervision. When confronted with problems leadership did little to resolve issues.

I love Waters Landing! The teachers and staff are all great, loving, friendly, helpful. They are organized and work hard to get the students what they need. They handle things professionally and I have no complaints.

This school is the worst I have seen. We have moved through the US and outside the US and have seen many schools. My child was at this school in Kindergarten and first grade. The Kindergarten teacher seemed to be annoyed all the time and not happy to be there. The first grade teacher was not better. They both did not put any efforts to teach the children!!!Also the teacher-parent communication is very poor, they did not reach out to parents to improve the situation.
