if i could go back and not have my high school experience be through quince orchard i would. i truly do not understand why this school only cares about theirs athletes. they push things off until the last second and just expect the student to run with it and it is a complete waste of the students time and the schools. me personally ive been in summer EVERY SINGLE SUMMER throughout high school and every year around mid way through 3rd quarter my mom would come in to have my 504 meeting which they would then inform her of the 2 classes i now have to take over the summer because of something from the YEAR BEFORE. ive been DROWNING in spanish work for 3 months because they decided to wait until LAST FREAKING SECOND AGAIN to take care of the problem when this problem could have been taken care of at the beginning of the year or any other time through the ENTIRE YEAR that i was to admin and counseling about this.

Our son graduated from QO last year, and our daughters attend currently, grades 12th and 9th. We absolutely love this school. The principal is amazing; so engaged with all student activities, creating an inclusive and dynamic environment for all. There is something for everyone here, with awesome sports, fantastic academic opportunities and all types of clubs available. The student population is diverse both racially and economically, which fosters acceptance and awareness. Communication from the school/county is fantastic. Sure, some issues arise now and again with poor student behavior or fights, but problems are immediately addressed and resolutions communicated to the parent and student populations. We moved back to Montgomery County several years ago, looking for a more diverse, progressive and inclusive community for our family and QO has given us exactly what we hoped for; I can't say enough good about this amazing local high school. Our kids have fun while learning every day at Quince Orchard High School! I highly recommend this school.

Great school! Offers all the advanced courses, AP and Honors. The teachers are very connected to the students. The school spirit here is very high and engaging to all the kids and local community.

My experience at this school was very bad because you have a bad administration who can handle the truth!

Because the teachers who plan the homework, give the answers to the students in the homework

They are all a circus because they are afraid to discipline the students

This particular school does NOT do any of this except to LIE

I graduated Quince Orchard in 1997 - even at that time I felt the school was safe, diverse and provided the opportunities needed for children to succeed. Teachers showed interest in the education of their students and there was several opportunities of involvement in different course selection and after school activities. I no longer live in the MD area but I hope more children had the opportunity to attend a quality school such as Quince Orchard.

Quince Orchard is a great school. My daughter is in the 9th grade and our experience thus far has been all positive. My daughters previously participated in a performance with the poms there when they were in elementary school. The students who taught the girls were very driven and excellent with the children. So glad my daughters are going/will go to Quince Orchard High.

I am a little miffed about the statements that this school is not racially diverse - I have found the exact opposite of that. Not only are the racial stats on this website showing diversity with 49% white, 22% hispanic, 16% African-American (which is an almost exact replica of the national statistics of the american population), the kids at the school come from a variety of cultural & economic backgrounds - nationalities of my children's friends include families from Poland, Jamaica, the middle east, India, Korea and Japan as well as African-Americans and Asian-Americans. My family would fall under the Hispanic category. It's like the United Nations in there. Plus, the school's diversity extends to economic background since the district pulls from many neighborhoods that include high income (mansions), middle income (houses and townhomes) and low income (apartments/townhomes communities with assistance). This school also has a diversity of programs from engineering certificates and art focus to upper AP college prep. There is something for everyone who is willing to utilize what is available. This school offers a lot and can give a lot depending on your drive.

Quince Orchard is an excellent school. It is what we want a neighborhood school to be in North Potomac. My daughter has been going there for the past two years. I have found the staff to be always very helpful, and there are a wide variety of classes for students to take. The school does very well in sports teams, especially in football, and the students are quite pepped up before a home game is played. Considering the fact that the school represents a large section of North Potomac with very educated parents in a nice suburban setting, I am quite surprised sometimes as to why the rating for the school is not higher. The school offers a large number of AP courses, and definitely challenges students to get higher grades. However, the pace is easy going, and it does not have a stifling atmosphere where students are disturbed at the workload. The idea is to create well-rounded students that are ready for college and the next phase in life.

Absolutely love this school. It has a lot of different academic programs to meet various student needs. The school has all students eat lunch at the same time making it so that every teacher is accessible during lunchtime to help students. Every teacher has been ready and willing to help both of my children who are students there. There is a top notch football team and other great sports too. If your child isn't into sports, there are tons of clubs and activities for them to pursue. Excellent participation in AP classes plus a Cisco Engineering program and Project Lead the Way with a STEM focus. Great mix of students and lots of diversity make this a wonderful, enriching environment. We are thrilled with this high school.

Has several subject specific and overall National Honor Societies, Has a full 5 course Project Lead the Way for teaching Engineering to students that translate to College credits. High student participation in AP credits There is significantly low incidents of troubled kids and very few overly spoiled kids in the cluster. Principal is very well respected by the students, parents, County School Superintendent and the school board. In addition to great academics has one of largest music programs in the County and some of the best sports teams in the state. Parents are very active and there is broad community support for the school. Happy we moved to this area. We were able to be in one of the best Elementary through High Schools and also get a good sized house at a reasonable cost for this close to DC.

Quince Orchard High School is a great school that attracts great community support, active PTA involvement, great teachers' and principal's support for students. My daughter and nieces graduated from this school and all loved everything about school.

Administration and teachers have no control over the classrooms or campus. My freshmen son reports the following; students leaving class without notifying the teacher and slipping back in before bell rings, groups of students in hallways during class, zoo like atmosphere when substitute teachers are leading classroom. I have witnessed students during school hours (not lunch) at local fast food restaurants and students walking in the opposite direction of the school minutes before the first bell is to ring. There is a big lack of leadership at QOHS.

I like this very school ,this is a wonderful school, full of happy and knowledge, the teachers in this school are all good, I love this school!!

I'll have to second what a previous parent said about the lack of cultural diversity at the school. The teachers are a mixed bag too. Some are very good and cordial, while others are nasty and unprofessional. I'd also not recommend kids of color to participate in the orchestra as the director needs a lesson in fairness and cultural diversity. Overall, I'd say that my daughter received a good education at QO, but it came at the price of her not having many peers she could relate to.

There is poor class room management and the students are allowed to do what ever they like. It sucks

On a grand scale, this school is not culturally diverse and differences are not respected. The environment is quite insular. Carole Working, the principal, is never involved with the students and teachers who bully students are supported by the administration. My child has been attending about 1.5 yrs and it's been many complaints of select teachings being a bully. There are some teachers who are altruistic but the other bad apple teachers are a hazard to the learning environment. I'm in the process of removing my child from this place as quickly as possible.

All three of my kids attended QO and all had great eperiences. There is a huge diversity of backgrounds due to families from all over the world living in the surrounding neighborhoods. Huge school spirit follows all groups including sports and music& arts. Academically challenging for those who will take the AP classes and while there are a few exceptions, most teachers are great and will provide lunchtime and after school tutoring if needed. Current principal is not as active than the one who retired a few years ago but parent involvement in the Booster Club has never been more robust. I will be sad when my last child leaves this great school.

My daughter just graduated frm this school and had a pretty hard time in her AP classes due to not enough attention and not enough tutoring available. I found the guidance counselor not to be very helpful with her college or career information and guidance she needed. She came here from Florida in her 11th grade year, and struggled with her academics but exceeded in sports. That doesn't really help as far as scholarships are concerned. I was pretty much disappointed and expected far more from a Montgomery County school.
