The best High School around. Fantastic staff, JROTC program, and Dual enrollment programs are available. This high school is a dream compared to the middle school years.

My son graduated with honors at Wicomico High School and went on to honors school at Virginia Commonwealth University! He also played Varsity Soccer. They went to states that year. If you work hard, you will reap the benefits no matter where you attend here in Salisbury. (My other two graduated from Bennett High and fell through the cracks. Very disappointed.)

Wi-Hi barely counts as a school, they don't prepare you for college or University, in most cases they don't even expect you to go to college. There are resources that the County provides or programs that could get you ahead in life, but you aren't informed about it. You have to hear from word of mouth. They never went over application processes with students, compared to the other high school. The only information they give you for college is how to request high school transcripts, which is informed only since it would give the administration less work to do. Pretty much once you enter college from this place you realize how much of a waste it was since you are behind your peers by almost 2 years.

The Homework here is ridiculous, you either than none or you have a lot depending on what level you are at with higher difficulty courses having more homework. At the higher levels most of the homework is busy work, which doesn't help you learn the subject better or improve yourself. It's just worksheets, and papers just to inflate the grades of students to make it seem like they are effective or good teachers, while they don't have knowledge of the subject itself.

The Teacher quality is going up and down, it's literally a hit or miss at this point. Teachers are brought in some gets transferred, get a new job or just quit. The teacher quality is much lower than the other 3 high schools in the area by a lot. if the Parkside and Bennett has 7/10 as teachers Wi-Hi has 2-3/10. It also doesn't help that teachers tend to have favorites, who they help, and have students they give up on since they don't like them, so they provide very little feedback. For the few Teachers who care they are like water in a dessert scarce, but life giving. In the school they are probably only 10 of them.

Students here have zero integrity, a lot of them cheat on assignment or test. They take the easiest way out. Compassion? also non-existent for most teachers their rule is to keep your attitude at home or outside the door, which usually meant if you have any problems who cares. Respect, teachers starting arguments with students for no reason, and students cussing teachers out is a norm.

Leadership? It's non-existent in the school, there is absolutely none of that coming from administration or Teachers.

The special education class covers grade 9 material for 4 years. For learning difference for students with minor learning disabilities there aren't accommodations put into place.

When the administration and teachers are the biggest bullies it's hard to say that they effectively deal with it. Most of the time it's just ignored unless you escalate it by going to the BoE, contact the state, or threaten to take legal actions.

This school is going down hill pretty quickly. Many of the teachers who are experienced has quit and new teachers fresh out of College are coming to teach. They have no experience or guidance and commonly has little to no idea of what to do. Not only that the school also has many misbehaving students that continues to break rules and not get in trouble. The also school loves to pick on the weak and the principal does nothing to improve it. Another problems is the guidance counselors as they do not want to do their jobs. They lack care and interest for their students. Pros: The few teachers who are dedicated to their jobs. Cons: Lack of leadership from the principal. Many mediocre or not caring teachers. Students that does not want to learn. School preferring to pick on the weak; both teachers and students. Old and poorly designed school. Out dated resources. No improvements.

I must say I am not very fond of this school. They pick on the weak in mt opinion. The Dress code policy is said to be in forced and though that is partially true. The dress code policy is in forced on the ones that are 'weak'. I am not one to break dress code yet they have said i violated it more than once and yet you see people with there pants around there legs and boys who have no shirt on and girls wearing leggings that are so tight you can see under garment and yet they say nothing to them because they are scared because those kids are the ones that are 'bad' and ''troublemakers'. I think the school could use a lot of improvement. Even though I must say that there are a handful of teachers that are really absolutely incredible and enjoy what they do. I would also like to say that the principal is not the best he will say whatever to make you think the problem is going to be solved. you have to go over his head to get problems solved. I also do not find alot of the office staff respectful. They talk about kids as if they cant hear them when they are right there and I dont think that is an adult thing to do.
