After our initial acceptance into The Goddard School in Gaithersburg, Maryland, our experience took an unexpected turn. Despite the joy and relief we felt upon being accepted, the owner's subsequent decision to reverse this acceptance was both surprising and disheartening. This review reflects our experience, aiming to provide other parents with insight into our journey with this institution.

The most challenging aspect of our interaction was the lack of consistent communication. After the excitement of acceptance, the reversal of this decision by the owner, without a clear explanation or sufficient notice, significantly impacted our plans and trust in the school's administrative processes.

The reasons behind the sudden change in our acceptance status were not transparently communicated to us. A clearer understanding of the criteria and decision-making process would have been appreciated, as it would have helped us better prepare for alternative arrangements.

The unpredictability of this situation placed a considerable strain on our family, disrupting our scheduling and causing unnecessary stress. The excitement of securing a spot, followed by the disappointment of its retraction, was a rollercoaster of emotions for us all.

While we cannot speak to the academic or developmental aspects of The Goddard School, our pre-enrollment experience was far from satisfactory. The unforeseen reversal of our acceptance not only caused logistical challenges but also left us feeling valued less by the administration.

My son has been going here since 2018, and I am a widow on a single income. I chose to send my son here due to the curriculum which is challenging and well rounded. I have encountered some awesome teachers throughout my time here and the owner Jill has been ok to work with, she has been somewhat condescending at times but I’ve always felt I could go to her for anything. My son was being bullied by a particular kid in the class and when I brought it to the lead teacher’s attention, she became defensive and I asked that once it is addressed I just wanted a courtesy call to know how it all went. I am a black patron there and the disrespect and underlying disdain has always been there. Two admin ladies called me instead and while we were discussing what happened, they apparently must have had me on speaker because another admin person came in to the conversation and said she heard screaming(lies) and won’t have her admin people be yelled at snd hung up on me. Even Jill Worley, owner of the school has never disrespected me to that extent. This is not the end of this but I am at my wits end with this level of disrespect.

I think, there are two factors behind the success of this great school. that’s undoubtedly it’s great set of teachers and Mr. & Mrs. Worley.
I am sure Mrs. Worley knows each and every kid in the school inside out.

It’s easy to fall in love with Goddard school of Gaithersburg. My kid displayed a tremendous improvement after attending to Goddard. I have no single complaint about the school. Each and everyday with this school was a beautiful day for my little girl. She loved her teachers and the whole set up. As a mother who is also from the field of education, I have to say that this is the best early childhood education environment I have seen so far!

This is my favorite. Goddard school of Gaithersburg has the best, best, best set of teachers. Always full of energy, happy and enthusiastic. I love them.

We love this school! I can't say enough to describe how wonderful this school is, from its owners to the teachers and staff. They truly care about your children and the owners are always present, attentive and involved in what is occurring at their school. As a first time mom it was very very difficult leaving my baby with strangers but we went from my baby crying every time I dropped her off to her actually reaching for her teachers to hold her and not even noticing or caring that I left. As another example, my baby initially refused to drink from her bottles while at the school. The pediatrician told me to tell her teachers to not offer her anything else, just let her go hungry and eventually she will take from the bottle. I even clarified that he wanted me to tell the teachers to let her starve until she drank from the bottles and he said yes because her "survival instincts" will kick in. Needless to say, I was devastated and beside myself with worry. The next day when I picked her up, the teachers told me she finished her bottles...they spoon-fed her the milk. I was so happy she ate but also shocked that they took the time to feed her the milk, small spoonful at a time. Clearly, they did not agree with the pediatrician in letting her starve either. The owners and teachers here are so caring and attentive; we absolutely love them!!!

Homework started when my son entered the Pre-K program. It was just the right amount of homework to help him understand the concept of homework and enjoy it. It was never overwhelming. He was excited to do it and felt accomplished.

The teachers at this school are top notch! I don't know how the school finds such great people with such a high retention. These teachers are amazing!

The school does a great job teaching the children about themselves and also others. The school has some really great ideas and ways of teaching children to help them communication and feel more confident.

The owners and the front office are wonderful! Any time I had a question about anything it was addressed immediately and to our satisfaction.

I highly recommend this school to everyone. I am so happy after 4.5 years of being here and two children. This school has it figured out. The only drawback is it's very difficult to get into because there is a wait list. But I promise, it's worth the wait! I couldn't have been happier!
