Meadows Montessori is an amazing program. We are under new management and thriving. The children and families are always treated with respect. The staff are all welcoming and supportive to the children. There is so much love and kindness at Meadows. I have worked at Meadows for 9 years and have loved every minute of it. The new Head of School is so supportive and amazing and has taught me and the rest of the staff so many things. If I had young children then this would be the school I would choose for them.

My daughter has learned a lot from Meadows Montessori school. The teachers and staff really care about the children personally.This makes for one of the best nurturing , and learning environments out there. The Head and Assistant Head of the School go above and beyond to address any issues that may arise with your child.

Our son just started at Meadows Montessori in Frederick in February at 5 years old - we are so glad we made the switch from her prior school. It's like he was meant to be in Ms. Bev’s classroom all along! Ms. Bev and her support teachers, Ms. Jena and Ms. Megan have been so welcoming and really eased the transition for our son.

The lead teachers are fantastic - they work very hard to provide a genuine Montessori based program which is something that we cared deeply about because of the fact that the child gets to decide where they want to focus their energy through guided lessons. Our child has developed a sense of independence, curiosity, community and caring that I am very happy to see. There has been some turnover with many non-lead teachers but I can't say that's surprising given the situation in most businesses during the pandemic. The Montessori environment is as good as any I've seen and they have invested in creating a very special and high quality place for the children to learn and play. The teachers have been flexible and understanding as well when it comes to potty training too.
Experience with administration has been a little up and down. But overall we are happy we're here.

Our little one was at Meadows for multiple years. We had a great experience from start to finish... flexible, adaptive environment for our little one to learn, grow in an environment that included self development in character, the staff was caring, opportunity to be involved if desired.

Though leadership ability can vary from person to person, each adult working at this school is a leader in their own right providing advice, team presentations, and actively supporting needs of students and families alike. The owner is present and active in day-to-day operations, making decisions that I believe are in the best interest of the children - a positive, caring and extremely supportive school leader.

As an inclusive school, they use a strengths based theory to learning and use non-competitive, holistic, child-centered approach to teaching. I've heard the phrase used on tour that "each child is a universe of one" and we go at each individual's comfort pace of learning. That's why instructuinbis individualized to the needs of each student. I love that!

Excellent private school. We've always felt connected to other families and the entire school community bc they make such effort to celebrate diversity, embrace and honor various cultures, and show respect for the challenges facing families in today's world. Parent education events and school celebrations make our family feel very supported and connected.

Montessori equipment are designed to be hands-on and unless a parent holds a Montessori teaching credential, no studies have shown that children in preschool get any benefit to assigned homework. Check out Alphi Kohn's books on this subject.

Love this school. Owner and teachers are committed and caring. Probably one of the best Montessori schools in Maryland. All staff truly care for the students as their own. Amazing place!

The teachers might be alright and the director is decent, but the owner is incredibly ignorant and arrogant. She has no concern about the kids and her conversation with the teachers show no respect either. Of course, she has no respect toward the parents and kids. We were so disappointed to have spent 1.5 years here and just vaguely believed in Montessori. I thought as long as teaching was fine, it was alright--but obviously I was too naive. If you were ready to be ripped off and ready to experience a difficult owner to handle any issues with your child, you would have plenty of opportunities to take the stress and waste your time here. There are also teacher turnover issues, limited space issues, cheap school facilities issues, etc.

Meadows Montessori has been an amazing school for my child. Any topics I have wanted to discuss with a teacher had have been immediately addressed either in person or by phone. I am able to email the teacher about anything I want to discuss and get a same day response. The teacher was always willing to discuss the topic at hand and make sure that we developed a plan to follow both at school and home. This allowed for stability for my child when the same message was being relayed both day and night. The education that my child has received at Meadows is second to none. Every "work" that the child encounters prepares them for higher learning. For example, the pin punch work makes their hand muscles stronger so that they are better equipped for writing when they are ready. In the meantime, they are learning the continents of the world while pin punching. My child will be entering Kindergarten this fall already reading competently and doing math at a 2nd grade level. I cannot thank Meadows enough for the support and education they have provided my child over the past few years! The lessons that they have taught will span a lifetime.

If you are looking for the most amazing school for your child -I highly recommand that you take a look at this school. I have 2 children that went through this school and I am so happy that I made this choice. The teachers are the most educated and caring educator that I have ever met-My son just graduate this year -this school have given this country a great leade- He his such an amazing kid- never a follower- always a leader and that is what this school foster. He care so much about other people - young and old and again this is what the school offer. He is a quick thinker and that is what this school offer. This school is definately the place to be - great atmosphere - structure and children are held accountable. you just cannot ask for me. please keep up the good work at meadows, really appreciate all your hard work.

Both of my children attend Meadows, and we are very happy with their care. All of the staff is interested in their well-being. I expressed concern about my daughter's behavior at home, and her teacher met me for more than an hour to ask questions and give thoughtful suggestions. She gave me some materials to take home, and recommended an excellent book on child development and behavior. Clearly these teachers are expert at child care. There are some little aspects of the school that could be better, but nothing serious. My kids are happy to go to school and sad to leave!

Meadows is the furthest thing from a true Montessori experience. The administration seems to lack integrity & has proven to be dishonest repeatedly. Teachers lack appropriate training; some lacking required Montessori qualifications. Others lack basic certification, including ast rm teachers lacking basics certs to be unsupervised. The director seems to be grossly under qualified. The owners are rarely present & seem to show little concern to any issues other than profit. It's really no surprise the staff turnover rate is alarmingly high. Poor planning forces children to be pushed out of pre-primary before they are ready, seemingly for financial gain. The primary rms lack the proper support staff, possibly due to the high turnover rate, to handle the young ones. Other Montessori programs provide enrichment classes & cultural activities for the kids, Meadows minimally offers this at an extra charge after school hrs. Kids do not grow, change, & learn here. Rather, they appear to leave emotionally stifled, lacking self-confidence & academically lagging. In the ten years I have used childcare programs, this was by far my worst experience. I regret entrusting them with my child.

I was dismayed, but not surprised to see the other review. My child was enrolled at Meadows for a short time and I feel badly that I didn't catch onto their game earlier. Having read and had past positive experiences with other Montessori programs we thought it was exciting to have one in Frederick, but I now regret every having placed my child there. The staff turnover is very high which is the first warning sign, another is on the tour they try to convince you that by not enrolling your child full time that you are damaging them, We also found they were pressuring parents to quickly potty train their child, before they were ready to push them into the primary classroom. The reason seems to be purely financial for the school, in addition they very openly bad mouth FCPS and other schools in the area. As if this isn't enough they offer very little for the students to do during the day. They don't offer the culturally activities that you will find standard in a true Montessori learning environment. Many of the smaller kids can be found sitting around with nothing to do because the teachers haven't taken the time to show them work or they wander around most of the day.

Meadows Montessori barely deserves one star. If you are looking for a Montessori school don't even bother with a visit, the environment they have created is a fa ade that is only deceiving upon first glance. The "teachers" are not properly trained, the director is unqualified and the owners seem to only visit to collect money. They fool you with having the proper equipment and answer questions during the initial visit, but after you have enrolled your child you will find they offer even less than an average day care. Their idea of a field trip is the same tired in house performance every year, cultural activities don't exist and the children are pushed into the primary classroom well before they are ready for the financial benefit of the school. If as a parent you have questions or want further information the management of the school becomes very hostile and the employees seem afraid to speak up.
