This school is so awful, my other child will not attend, even though it's our home school. We will either home school or she will attend a magnet school for her talents. My older child, who was taunted and excluded here, transferred to another high school. It's unfortunate because the building is attractive. Too bad that the people inside are anything but.

Teachers at this school tend to pile on the homework, and it's either remedial or too advanced because the teacher didn't effectively teach the material in class.

There are a few shining standouts and exceptions, however most teachers my child encountered were checked out and not interested in truly engaging with students.

To keep control, leadership advocates increasingly punitive measures such as assigned seating and aggressively patrolling halls. Students who report wrongdoing are often exposed and then bullied or stalked.

I've heard that Linganore is good in the area of supporting variously abled students. Of course, those kids still have to deal with the viciousness and taunting of the majority of students at this school, so that may cancel out the better services.

The teachers are nice and the test scores are good and all, but the kids are vicious (yes, more so than at other schools) and the administration does nothing to stop it.

I love the increasing diversity at this school because we can learn so much from one another. It is such a benefit to the community to have this because it makes the area more desirable to live when the schools are strong. Thus, I am grateful for LHS.

This school has a great engineering program allowing you to take college level courses and earn credit for upper level engineering courses through the PLTW program. They have an excellent athletics program and outstanding support from the parents and community.
