I have 4 kids attending this school. All teacher do share their successes and concerns. They let me know what my kid need more help in. Principal takes her time to know all her kids and is always there during activities. The support is there.

WES is an amazing school! The kids are able to make friends easily. The principal, Ms. McKeever, is kind, effective, and sets the positive tone for the school that every child deserves. The teachers care and go above and beyond the call of duty. I have been so impressed with everything about this school, and I wish we could stay forever!

I would have to agree with some parent comments. There seems to be abuse in this school. My daughter has a good teacher, but I have witnessed teachers screaming at children. And there is no transparency on what is going on. Since schools have been on lock down there is no parental involvement which is dangerous and offers no accountability or knowing what is happening behind closed doors.

I hate to agree but I also don't think the principle likes her job very much. I noticed my daughter was loosing weight. Only to find out that she has been not only emotionally abused by her peers but physically abused by her peers for months without any word from the school and being told to keep it quiet else she gets in trouble with the principle. She said she even reported the incident to the counsellor Soroh and she did not do anything about it. The counselor spoke with my child without my consent or present and did not have the decency to inform me. When I went to the school to report it she lied and in her attempt to defend lies reported to be that my daughter had been trying to get her attention rather for more than a week but had not had time to talk with her. My surprise !!!!!!. A child who has been physically abused by a peer is being trying to get a counselor's attention for over a week to no avail. wow!!!!!! I was apologized to by the principle McKeever and promised to put interventions in place to prevent future occurrences. Well my daughter has since being physically abused again for the 3rd time. They have given me no choice but to pull her out and get an attorney involved. I find the lack of discipline in this school very unacceptable. I cant even find peace as I risk my life as an RN to safe others when my poor 1st grader is left in the hands of cruel people who careless about the safety and well being of the kids in their care that my hard earn tax dollar is paying especially when you a black child.

All five of my children attended here. Teachers are phenomenal the system should address discipline more diligently aschildren too often don't face consequences for bullying children and disrupting teachers. But I don't fault the teachers as that is an FCPS issue in general

I will rate this school with a 8 out of 10. They give students the homework that the students can handle. Homework are their best way of keeping the kids involved in school while away. Reading is their motivation. They encourage students to read every day. Maths are done on a challenging level.
Don’t like how bullying is handled. They do a good job by saying sorry to the victim but don’t do anything to the person who does the bullying
