We moved to the area a year ago and after reading this site I was extremely concerned. After now being here for a year I will say that my opinion has changed dramatically. The teachers my kids have had go above and beyond. They are incredibly communicative and overall amazing!!! Everything about this school is great!

I loved being at this school. The teachers were awesome, and they worked really hard to allow others to succeed. The principals were all over the place and half of them were monsters who would make your life miserable if they decided they didnt like you. They are really biased and not there to support kids or teachers who need it most. They're there

Depends on the student; some are given great attention and the resources they need, some are left to figure it out on their own, and others are coddled into being allowed to do whatever they want.

It's such a large school that if the kid who is being bullied can identify who is harassing them, usually it can get taken care if, but there are so many students that it can be hard for a kid to be able to identify who that bully is to a grown up in the school.

Hillcrest is a global community. My children are greatly benefiting from the diverse population and have made strong friendships that will hopefully weather the more challenging tween years to come. The teachers and staff go above expectations and the administration has been building in programs that benefit all learning styles. The rating on this site is out of date. I appreciate the efforts of the staff so much that I chose to accept a job at Hillcrest. I personally found the majority of the school community so passionate that I brought my children to HES, too. In fact, I was so blown away by the re-engagement of the parent community that I even joined the PTA. Please consider that the Hillcrest Elementary School of 2014-2015 is a much different (significantly improved) school than the one from 2010.

The teachers are committed to the children's education great support from administration. Parents do have responsibility in their child education. The rating is not the reflection of the staffs efforts at Hillcrest Elementary School.
