I cannot say enough things about how wonderful Jones Lane Elementary is. All 3 of our kids either graduated from Jones Lane or currently go to Jones Lane, and we just love it there. The teachers and staff are kind, patient, caring and attentive. The principal is fabulous - he is supportive of students, parents and staff, and attends every PTA and school event. We moved to this neighborhood several years ago because of how great of a school Jones Lane is, and it has far exceeded our expectations. The teachers challenge students and support students individually. All of our kids felt safe & respected and continue to feel safe & respected at Jones Lane. We love Jones Lane Elementary!

School administrators and the PTA are wonderful! However, Im not so sure about the classroom teacher, they tend to raise their voice at the kids quite easily. I hope the teacher realizes that this isnt a good way to teach young children.

My child is a student at Jones Lanes Elementary School. Our experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I am pleased to share our impressions.
Highlights
1. Supportive Teachers: The teachers at Jones Lanes are very supportive, attentive, and dedicated to each child's success. They communicate regularly with parents and make sure every student feels included and encouraged.
2. Positive Learning Environment: The school fosters a welcoming and nurturing atmosphere where children are excited to learn and participate.
3. Academic Progress: I have noticed significant growth in my child's academic skills and confidence. The curriculum is well-structured, and my child is progressing well in reading, writing, and math.
4. Community Engagement: The school encourages family involvement and hosts events that help build a strong sense of community.
5. Enrichment Programs:
One of the standout features of the school is its enrichment programs. These are especially beneficial for students who are excelling, as they offer advanced study materials and engaging activities that keep kids challenged and motivated.
Jones Lanes Elementary School has provided a strong foundation for my childs early education. I highly recommend it to other families looking for a school with supportive staff, a positive learning environment, and excellent enrichment opportunities.

I don't know where they get the 14:1 ratio, when my kids started they had 5 kindergarten classes with a ratio of around 30:1, this past year it was at best 24:1 in the class. Bully kids in the school are moved to another class and not punished, kids from other areas of MoCo are bused into the school which is insane as the school is already over crowded. The teachers are great, the principals are great; MCPS School Board is ruining this school by over crowding it with kids from other areas.

This school is a total hidden gem! From the principal down to any and all teachers and staff members, you walk in and feel like this is a part of your village. Amazing school/family/community engagement. Very strong PTA and parents that are always willing to jump in to support their amazing school staff.
The only thing Id love to see grow is the academic rigor for students who need a more challenging environment in school. Theres a ton of focus and support for students who need additional help but it feels like the students who are excelling academically, get left behind.

Jones Lane is the best case scenario school in MCPS. The principal and assistant principal are rockstars. The school is small and close-knit. The PTA is very active. The school population includes the affluent neighborhoods nearby and more diverse areas from farther upcounty. So, the community is diverse and inclusive. Everything about the school ideal.

There is a white parent clique at this school and they bully the administration through the PTA Leadership and the other parents through the rumor mill. These women have way too much time on there hands.

Jones Lane is a smaller school than those in the nearby area. My son is starting Kindergarten there and they only have three classes as opposed to many nearby schools with six or seven. We couldn't be happier with his teacher, Ms. Xie. We are looking forward to a terrific hear at JLES.

Amazing network and neighborhood of supportive parents, active PTA, eager teachers and pleasant "small school" feel.

The principal do not hear the parents and do not really care or even know the name of some kids. This school needs to start working on getting better. It is going down and I am sad to see this.

This is my daughter's first year at Jones Lane and the academic quality and warmth of the school community has far exceeded our expectations. The teachers and administrators are excellent and the broad array of co-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities is astounding. I really think Jones Lane deserves a rating of 10 and I can't imagine sending my daughter to any other school. All students thrive at Jones Lane!
