As a parent/guardian of a child who has been enrolled as an student to this school; Rocky Hill Middle School, I have had MULTIPLES news of how terrible condition the school building has been through. Such as, being aggressively vandalized in many places around the school building, like bathrooms, classrooms, and even special ED classes. This has proved how UNSAFE this school's environment is. You can clearly walk around the halls, and smell the recognizable scent of weed, vape, and other drugs students have used. Not only is this unsafe to teachers, and students, and staffs, this has HEAVILY impacted my child's education negatively. Even worse, there has been unbelievable counts of rumors of students, yes even 6th graders, engaging in sexual intercourse. Horrible school.

This school is terrible as a former student you can find easy access to drugs vapes and my time here a kid had gotten very sick from taking something from another student also for promotion why isnt there more sits? 20% of the 8th graders were not even on stage but where parents come to watch shouldve have kept it in the cafeteria than the play stage in clarksburg high school

At this school there is lots of fights, it doesn't where you are there has most definitely been a fight there. Sometimes the bathroom smells like weed, and I have seen a vape or two outside near the field. There is bullying but if you just stay out of the drama ur fine. There is also a whole ton of diversity! If you get a teacher that likes you or you get on their good side then they are like your best friend. The hallways are VERY cramped and crowded it is impossible to get around comfortably. At lunch, if you are buying lunch it takes forever to get dismissed into a line to get food and then you get like 10 minutes to eat. I am in 7th grade and I honestly have a love hate relationship with this school lol.

My child hates going to this school. She comes home everyday talking about how the teachers are disrespectful and cruel. The students are rude and fight and pick on people everyday. The AP's at this school are horrible and they do not discipline the children correct. My daughter has gotten introble for defending herself and it is not fair. The teachers also do not make school fun my daugher comes home saying school is prison. She is in 6th grade she says the teachers are disrespectful, rude, and act like the children are an army that have to be serious all the time. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS SCHOOL AT ALL!!!!

My daughter has been bullied at school, so I sent an email to the counselor asking for guidance. Unfortunately, I never received a reply back. Due to the lack of support from the staff and seeing my daughter suffer daily to go to the school she previously loved going to, I decided to withdraw my daughter from that school. I sincerely hope she never has to go back.

Unless your child is an MMA fighter, watch out for bullying every day.

This school is trash as well as the teachers. My child hates going to school everyday because of the students as well as the teachers. The staff is late giving out lunches during lunch time, giving them a short amount of time to eat. The teachers act like they don't want to be there and that schools priorities are messed up!!

My daughter started 6th grade here in 2022-2023. I was shocked to learn that there are fights every day. Either in the halls or in the cafeteria. One day there was a food fight. Students were throwing oranges at each other. They stand on tables. One of my daughter's teachers has problems just about everyday keeping control of the classroom. Students talk back and run out of the classroom. Or the teacher leaves. My daughter also has learning disabilities and the school has yet to give her the tools she needs to succeed. One of the SE assistants make snarky comments to her because she isn't understanding the assignment.
So far I am disappointed in this school. I understand there will always be problems in school but this is more than I imagined.

My experience at rocky hill middle school was not the best. A 7th-grade science and Spanish teacher are probably the worst teachers I have ever had. They have no control over the kids at RHMS and don't even do anything to stop the hate and violence at this school. There are almost 2 fights every day in each grade and the school barely takes any action and innocent students are put to blame. The students are always very energetic to learn and participate in class ad the teachers barely even teach. Over 3 of my current teachers right now just play videos for the students and don't check to see if the students are even following along. (I am a straight-A student and the school should see the pattern in having certain subjects in D's or E's.) The teachers are very easily attacked by the students and plan out to fight them. There is one teacher in 6th grade that should be fired at this point. They have been suspended from school for putting their hands on a student and many more reasons which I cannot say. The one good thing about this school is that the counselors are very good and understanding and the school takes very good special care of people who struggle to learn to have a disability. I don't want to seem like I am complaining, but this is the straight honest fact about this school. I've only gone here for 1 year so far and I am hoping that this would be my last. Other schools around this area are way better than this school.

This school has a discipline problem with students which may be based more on the local population than the faculty. The faculty has been very responsive regarding repeated incidents of bullying and physical violence. However, despite their assistance, they may be powerless to prevent or adequately address many of our concerns. Also, academic standards at this school appear to be lower than other schools my son has attended. Despite some negative aspects of our experience, Rocky Hill Middle School is a modern, clean facility with a robust team of educators.

I was hesitant with my child going into middle school but this school has WAY surpassed my expectations and they are high. My child turned into a beautiful leader, has a great appreciation for all cultures, has found a new sport, and has exceeded all of our expectations and is continually a high achiever. This school has archery, and the coach and team spirit is phenomenal. I am so sad the covid put a damper on all the competitions but we enjoyed our time here. She has been preparing here at this school so she will hopefully be ready at the SMACS magnet program next year. I love the time we spent at Rocky Hill and look forward to another 6 years when our youngest will attend this school. We will miss you Rocky Hill. Thanks for making life wonderful for my middle schooler.

Somewhere between average and bad. Average in that it meets the standards of the County. Bad in that teachers are more concerned with checking boxes than assessing actual learning and guidance doesn't advocate for your child when the 2 are not in alignment. Gone are the good old days where teachers actually cared and there was open communication between parents, administration, and teachers. I guess the world has gotten too big - at least Rocky Middle School has gotten too big.

My daughter is going into 8th grade and she loves Rocky Hill. She is challenged by the classes. She says her teachers are approachable. She loved her principal her 1st year (Mr. Edmondson), but only kinda likes her current principal. We are happy with the teachers response in posting her grades.

I'm an eighth grader at Rocky Hill who has been going to school there for three years now. Rocky Hill is a great school overall. The teachers are mostly good and try to engage the students. Its a very diverse school but is a little cliquey. Most people stick to their groups of 4-5 people. There are fights OCCASIONALLY and drugs/alcohol are not commonly seen and mostly occur in eighth grade, if seen at all. A lot of people say it is a "ghetto" school, but compared to other middle schools in the area, it is pretty decent. The atmosphere and classes are interesting and help us learn. The schedules can be confusing at first, but most students get the hang of it in the first month. The only down side is that Rocky Hill was WAY overcrowded. the hallways are always packed and at times it can be hard to move from one class to the next because of all the people. They are working on fixing this but its difficult to have that many people in a school that was made for a lower number of students. They have a good selection of extra curricular activities and sports teams. I would recommend this school.

Our daughter is in the 7th grade and in her second year at Rocky Hill. She loves the school and I'm happy to see the teachers and administrators so involved in the students' learning.
