Kingsview Middle School

My experience with Kingsview Middle School has been deeply disappointing. The administration presents polite smiles, but offers little real support concerns are acknowledged and then ignored. Bullying is not taken seriously, and follow-through is minimal at best.
The guidance counseling department is especially troubling. Staff are unwelcoming and show little interest in providing meaningful emotional support to students or families, particularly those navigating crisis situations. A school should be a place of safety, advocacy, and care unfortunately, that is not what we experienced here.

going here was like a fever dream. there were fights practically everyday over the smallest things. but when they fight over actual discrimination (rare but happened) they always punish the one who was clearly aggravated, speaking of which, admin didn't care about bullying at all, even if the student missed a ton of school because of it. students argue with teachers and don't care about their grades. slurs being shouted in stairwells on a daily basis and nobody cared because they were used to. some teachers are the kindest people on earth but some were the most demotivating hateful people.

We transferred to the school and it was great change for my child. We experienced helpful teachers and administrators.

The school over all is okay. Staff are mostly supportive and encouraging, but some students to get away with certain behaviors. Overall, it's a pretty good school. The programs they have are nice and a lot of the classes are good.

My daughter started middle school this year. Few kids in her class are so horrible and bullies I took off school bus and taking her by car. Looks like f b words are casual for kids and parents of these kids are ok with it. Looking desperately to move out of this school teachers and counsellor are total useless no help

Certain students at this school get away with bad behavior, and nothing is done about it. In contrast other students pay for that and don't get a positive experience because of that.

I got bullied out of my school because the admistrative office didnt care at ALL. The school doesnt prepare anyone at all at this school and they only care about getting good test grades. The front office people are incredibly rude and dont care for any of the students. The kids are the fakest kids ive ever seen with no morals or respect towards adults. This school has changed so many people for the worse and made everyone through common sense out the window. I could continue on but overall this school is some honest crap and they dont care about any of their students. If you are zoned for this school honestly move as far away as you can. DONT send your kids here!!!!!

THEY DONT CARE I LITERALLY GOT BULLIED OUT OF MY SCHOOL. THE SECURITY GUARDS PLAY FAVORITES AND THE STAFF DONT CARE! THEY HANG UP POSTER ABOUT BULLYING BUT DONT EVEN ENFORCE THEIR OWN RULES. SERIOUSLY IT TAKES 6 TIMES FOR THE KIDS TO GET SUSPENDED B4 THEY GET EXPELLED. LIKE WHAT?????

This is my first year teaching at KMS. I am impressed with this school and can honestly say that this middle school is one of the best in the county. (during my career I have taught at 2 other middle schools and a high school prior to accepting this position) The school is very well organized, across all content areas. Safety/security is well established. The relationship between students, staff, and parents is largely positive. Educators at KMS are both dedicated and compassionate. I love coming into work each day, and feel lucky to have wound up a part of this school family. I will not be leaving anytime soon!

Front desk secretaries and staff are incredibly rude. I called to advise that I was picking up my child early because of a family emergency. The secretary who answered, was dismissive and as a first year parent it made me feel completely unimportant. I question the way children are being treated and spoken to. Paitnece is a virtue and while I understand that there are others that can test that patience a calm, cool, and caring tone should always be in place when in a school setting. As a school that is in one of the best counties in this country professionalism, courtesy and kindness should be reflected in the way that staff interacts with others. I'm incredibly disappointed and sincerely hope that said secretary was having an off day. I will be speaking to the principal.

Most children left behind. MCPS only cares about test scores and pushing the kids through the system whether they absorb the curriculum or not. Teachers wholeheartedly recommend students making D's for Honors classes in high school. Private, out of pocket tutoring is a MUST in this county or your child will be in Special Education because most classes are 2 grade levels above the actual grade level they are in.
