This is one of the best middle schools in MCPS. We are small in size but show a lot of heart and hard work.
Redland is a great learning environment for students. There is a good balance of study and play. There are many activities hosted here outside of regular school hours. The adults really care about the kids and go above and beyond for them. We have a very engaged PTA, too. RMS is also a great workplace for staff. Staff members regularly recognize each othersÂ’ efforts and have
many celebrations. Leadership is physically visible in the hallways and in the cafeteria. Administration is easily accessible and supportive.
I love being a Bulldog. Blessed to be here.

The teachers are engaging and take the time to actually care about the needs of each student. The recent school play was outstanding, well produced and brought out the talents of our middle schoolers. We are comfortable that our kids are learning and growing because of the leadership at Redland!

My daughter is in 6th grade and thriving. The school automatically enrolls all 6th graders in advanced English and it is working just fine. My daughter is also in advanced math and doing great. Socially, the school has many activities- mostly sponsored by the PTA- to engage with other students.

Our daughter is thriving and making great friends. The PTA is engaging and encourages families to participate.
The administration is attentive and the teachers are best in class.
Redland has figured out a way of making middle school a fun experience.

this school is the worst the staff hates some kids and makes kids mad the "clean" bathrooms smell like trash water and kids get hit and punched all the time. teachers don't try to help and if you miss one work assignment you get an email home and you get yelled at by teachers. if I cud give 0 stars I would worst school ever

it has been amazing i had to fill put a COSA to go to this amazing school i spent 3 days at a different middle school and that middle school was awfal the lockers were so squezzed together and the staff are kind of rude there is one teacher that doesn't wear age appropriate clothing which distract some kids but overall it amaazing and when it's the weekend i get sad in the morning beacause i don't get to go to RMS

This school is absolutely terrible. In the girls bathrooms you can find terrible things written in the inside of the stalls like I'm going to kill myself and and I'm going to kill myself by starving! This is not the right way to run a school. Plus, all the kids are just obnoxious because they just yell and laugh really loud during the middle of the class and the teachers just don't care. This makes learning harder for other students that actually are trying to set a good future up for themselves! I highly do not recommend this middle school.

Redland is a great school. The staff is dedicated, the administration is solid. They have created a positive environment where the focus is on giving our kids what they need to be successful.

Redland has come a long way in the past 3 years. The student body is diverse, which is what is REAL WORLD!!! The majority of the teachers are impressive to say the least!!! Mr. Sinclair has moved mountains in order to get good teaches working there and a lot of the "dead wood" has left. Like any school, there are kids who don't care about learning, and they are generally in the lower level classes. If your kid cares and has good values instilled in them, they will do just fine at Redland. Its an excellent school Take it from somebody who has had 2 kids there!
