this school is very unkind. The teachers are rude and dont know how to do their job. They don't let anyone use the bathroom. And they will make up excuses. The students only have 5 passes per quarter to go to the bathroom. There are a lot of fights and constant smoking in the bathroom. people do not know how to take care of of the bathroom stalls. The school is so little the hallways are always over crowded and everyone pushes and shoves everyone around. The boys here are very rude to females especially. There is so much discrimination at this school. Teachers also have favourite students and it's very clear. I do NOT recommend

0/10. They do not enforce rules, the hallways sound like an animal stampede yelling (not just during transitions between classes, but also during class and when it is in the time period you are not allowed to leave class. I heard a teacher say something paraphrased by me as Good! Youll skip class less! to a student, but I know the student will not follow through with that or get a punishment for not. You cant even go to the bathroom without people jump kicking your stall, shaking it, and looking over. They closed the boys bathroom in lunch but not the girls bathroom in lunch, for days, and theres nothing wrong with that bathroom. There are basically fights every day, and the teachers do a VERY bad job at enforcing rules and teaching effectively. If I could, I would shut down this school, and possibly this school district.

My child's school counselor changed my kids schedule without informing me. She told my daughter that I told her to change her schedule, which wasn't true, and apparently she talked to her history teacher to make the change. As a result my daughter has to retake a class next semester that she's been in 4 weeks already. Why would a counselor lie to change her schedule? She is a good student, takes honors French, plays the viola, so I don't understand. Come to think of it, she said her friends said she does this all the time.

I remember first coming into this school, shy and awkward. Then I started to make friends, relationships with teachers who want to make relationships. But now, I like this school took a part of my life away from me rather than feeling like a home I can return to. This school changed a lot during these three years. The year of 2015-2016 was truly the best. Side note: Last years eigth graders who got the new principal for their last year apparently booed the him. I miss so many things. The understanding teachers who left us. Ms. Mcknight. Better assistant principals. When I felt more inclined to be involved. And especially when I felt welcomed during the first day of school. Now, I may seem like I despise this school enough to give it one star. That is partly true, however, I still once loved this school. I love as much as to cry when I think about what Ive lost because of how I was treated in my 8th grade year here. I do not recommend attending this school unless the staff changes. Absolutely not.

The current principal doesnt do very much for the school, and he doesnt have much control. One of the assistant principals isnt fair to students, and has lied to either students or parents.

There are many teachers and paraeducators at this school to assist and supports students with disabilities and accommodations.

While most classes seem to have some work, it is very inconsistent among different classes and grades.

Majority of the teachers at this school are decent, although there are some outliers on both sides, with some teachers being phenomenal and others being horrific.

My experience at this school has been very mixed. In the 2015-2016 school year, Ridgeview was home to the principal of the year, and two other very good administrators. Currently in the 2017-2018 school year, we have a principal and one administrator who dont do very much nor have much control over the students. The other administrator actually does things, although treats students differently, and is very biased towards some.

Ridgeview is an excellent school. My oldest daughter went there for three years and my younger daughter is in her first year there. The principal was named principal of the year for all of Maryland. She seems to be very capable. In the almost four years that I have had s child there I have only once had to make calls to the school regarding a problem. The issue was resolved swiftly and the student who had harassed my daughter was dealt with and punished appropriately. Very glad this is the middle school my daughters have attended/are attending.
