EAGLE is a loving community with staff who really care about their scholars and families. They will make extra efforts to ensure that their scholars have what they need (physically, emotionally, and otherwise) to succeed.

The teachers ensure that the homework not only reinforces the information learned that day, but supports it as well. My child's teacher even sends home extra resources to help me help him!

Where do they find these people? It be kids running up and down the hall and every teacher conference they got a new teacher somewhere.

Posted: May 2, 2017

They already be up in there all day. Its to much

Posted: May 2, 2017

Too many teachers leaving or being fired. Dean is rude to the kids and dont treat kids the same. They let a white girl hit and bite people kids and just talk to her but let my son get to a argument are defend his self and he the one get in trouble. Principle is the worst and shoul try to do something else for a job. My kids will not be at any of the eagle schools coming up next year. They no better than the regular schools. Dont fall for it

Posted: May 2, 2017

They only suspend the black boys and let the kids that not black cuss and hit other peoples kids they sit in the principle room all day but when my kids hit the back they get suspend

The dean is rude to kids and talk to them any kind of way and tell a parent he didnt

They have good intentions but they seem to need more training using the Love and Logic techniques when the scholars are not cooperating, rather than reacting in a typical fashion. Also, the teachers are not very knowledgeable about dealing with those on the autism spectrum and the rise in children diagnoses with behavior disorders/being on the spectrum. Otherwise, they all seem to have good hearts and intentions to give the best quality education they can.

As a single working mom, I spend about an hour to helping my son with his homework and reading, which allows me to get him ready for bed by 8 or 8:30 every night.

Posted: December 10, 2015

They provide accurate updates on my child's behavior. They have been very accommodating towards his special needs. They help him to acknowledge his undesirable behaviors and how to improve. He is autistic and his communication is below par. But, he is able to admit when he made a bad choice and how he can make a better choice the next time. He is even more capable to give apologies when he does wrong.

My son started his first school year of 2nd grade at the new Fox Park Eagle location. He is autistic with behavior mood disorder, ADHD, ODD and he is very big/tall for his age. He had a very rough start in the school year. He exhibited extremely aggressive behaviors almost every day from the first day of school. He was hitting, screaming, using foul language, etc. It was unknown at that time that his medication was contributing to the aggression. Not knowing what was causing the aggression and a working solution for almost 2 months, every single staff member at Eagle remained compassionate, patient and very encouraging to me as a single parent. They could have easily given up on my son and expelled him. But, they did not take the easy way out. The principle recommended a medical facility where I should take my son. That was when my son received more specific diagnoses and med changes. And a change in his physician. Afterwards, the Director of Special Ed initiated getting my son an IEP which had been discontinued at his previous school. The amount of time and resources put together in the IEP was extremely impressive. This has given my challenging son the chance to succeed at Eagle. My son is improving with all the different therapies he receives at Eagle. I have noticed him showing more self confidence and even taking on more self responsibility. Everyone at Eagle have gone above and beyond for my son. My son has even received a new coat for the winter as a part of their free coat program. I have never experienced a more loving and sincere group of professionals; from the principle to the lunchroom attendants. I have the utmost confidence that my son is being well taken care of academically, emotionally and physically. By the way, they have healthy tasty meals and my son still talks about how good the Thanksgiving lunch was.

The children are reminded daily that bad decisions have consequences. Not only at school but also at home.

Posted: November 24, 2015

My son and I are always greeted warmly by faculty. The teachers give me updates daily on his progress and issues I may need to address. They make sure to pay attention to each child's individual needs and see to it that my son is challenged and never bored. They also have many ways that parents can stay involved in the child's education, such as chaperoning educational field trips. I feel really blessed to have my son in this school.

I was so excited to be hired as a teacher at EAGLE. In the beginning it was a great place to work, but as time went on I've become more disenchanted and will be looking for a new job next year. Our first principal was outstanding and was clearly passionate about the kids and their learning. Over time I could see her enthusiasm start to fade as her ability to lead was hindered by her boss and the director of operations. The new principal is nice, but not a leader or inspiring. She does what she's told and "follows the rules" at the expense of our school. I receive no support with my students or instruction. I feel like this school is failing

When we decided last year to enroll our daughter in Eagle I was very apprehensive. Both my husband and I come from a private school background so we were not sure what to expect. I can say that I LOVE Eagle. Last year there were some definite bumps in the road, which I expected with it being a brand new school. There was not much communication and when there was it was after the fact. The administration seemed very close but was not all inclusive of parents, except those that were able to be at school regularly. At first, I was sad to see the original principal go. This year has been great so far. Ms. Barry has done a great job with trying to take the school in a different direction, not that there was an issue with the previous direction. My daughter regularly tells me how much she loves her teachers and classmates. I feel that my daughter gets the same treatment as others which is VERY important to me. For those that have left, I am sorry that you do not have the opportunity to see how Eagle has grown. But how is bashing it because of hurt feelings going to make it better?

The new principal has not taken the students or prior teachers accounts into consideration for this school year. The new principal has no leadership experience and it shows, she has allowed children to disrupt the learning environment , while making it unsafe, using the rational "we don't want to create a culture where children get suspended for everything". As an educator and a parent I don't want my child to feel so unsafe that she poops her pants weekly from the instability. I would also like to mention that I've heard the Special Ed teacher say somethings that can and have been offensive by others. When your in a position such as the SPED teacher you have to be very careful of the things that you say because parents are delicate as they should be. I would say that Eagle has become a revolving door this school year, and that the changes are not for the betterment of the community. One thing I loved about Eagle last year was that a majority of the staff was from the area being serviced and I can't say the same for this year. I hope that things get better at Eagle for the community and the children there, and looking to go there.

My child is currently a student at this school...at first it seemed like the greatest school until I found out 3 weeks before school started that they were getting a new principal..furthermore the communication between teachers, principals, and parents suck...the classrooms are very disruptive and the kids clearly run this place...not to mention my kid has had many difficulties adapting to this school being that it is forever changing and nothing in consistent...I'm planning to remove my child from this school as Saxon as I find another one that has a schedule that works with my current work schedule..this is not the great choice if you're looking for structure, stability, and learning within a school setting

I toured this school last year and loved the principal and the dean so I enrolled my children. When school started in August the administrators had left to be replaced by staff without principal licenses. Moreover, since August at least three teachers have left. It seems like Eagle has become a revolving door. I am currently on the waiting list for another school because I don't trust the remaining teachers.

As a former employee I feel that EAGLE has the potential to be a wonderful school, but if the principal does not change her management style and improve her communication with staff and parents it will become a detriment to the school's success. Many changes have taken place with the new leadership team, and the rationale of many of those changes were not effectively communicated to the stakeholders, meaning returning parents and staff members. The principal wants staff members to "get on the bus" and align with the mission. In order for that to occur the first thing that should have taken place was to at least acknowledge the work that was done by the staff prior to you coming on board. Also, taking the courtesy to look at what was done last year with regards to the culture of the school. It may not have been perfect, but the staff owned it because we collectively worked together as opposed to one leader making all the decisions. I realize you are young and this is your first experience in a leadership role. You have lots of learning and living to do. I suggest you read some books on leadership and management styles in order to improve your relationships with the staff.

Not what it used to be. They do not take the parents concerns to heart. Trust me I've had my concerns shot down by the principal. Children are hitting other children just because of the color of their skin and it is allowed to continue. Run away.

Eagle College Prep. is a very outstanding school. My son has attended this school since it opened its doors in August 2013. The staff has wrapped their arms around him and welcomed us ever since. The slogan "No child left behind" is truly being lived within this learning institution. I would recommend this school to anyone who ask.I intend to keep him at this school until he has to go somewhere else to further his education. The staff may have changed from last year but the professional and dedication of the new staff matches or exceeds the attitude of the old staff. In my opinion this institution is the best in South St. Louis.

Anyone reading the negative reviews on this page should immediately disregard them. EAGLE College Prep has been a saving grace for me and my scholars. This year at EAGLE has been nothing but positive and productive. The new administration is very focused on academics and is excited to educate not only our students, but the parents as well on how we can better serve our students at home. They provided all school materials to my students, and I only had to purchase a uniform and a backpack, which is awesome, especially for me because I have multiple students in the school. I also have a student that receives special education services and when I read the review below, I nearly laughed. The new principal has a special education background, and the special education teacher is happy to help me and my student out in any way that she can. Overall, this school has been amazing for us,the family community is awesome and I could not be happier with my decision to send my children here.

As a staff member at EAGLE College Prep, I am appalled and saddened by some of the reviews on this page. The 'special education teacher' mentioned below is me, and I know, for a fact, that this particular scenario never occurred, which is even more disappointing because I would never want a parent to feel like their special needs child was not welcome here, or that they would not be properly served. Our number one priority at EAGLE College Prep is our students. And my number one priority is to ensure all students with special needs get everything they need to be successful in the regular education environment. Our entire staff works countless hours outside of the regular school day to ensure that our scholars are receiving the education that they deserve. Our administration has worked to develop us as better educators and is dedicated to helping us better serve the scholars and community. I truthfully hope that anyone who reads the negative reviews dismisses them because I can guarantee they are false. EAGLE College Prep has made amazing improvements since the new administration was put into place, and I could not be happier, or more proud to work for this school.

I m glad to be a part of this school. This is all new to my family and I , but I am enjoying the energy, the excitement and hearing all the fun things that happened during school. My children always have a story to share when they get home. My Daughter loves Ms. C. It s sometimes hard to enter your children into a place that s new but this is an AWESOME experience.

Eagle College Prep is an amazing school. The new principal Ms. Barry really values every student that is in the building. Ms. Barry is a very supportive and is providing each student in the school with a top notch education. We are so thrilled to have Ms. Barry at Eagle! The students and families are really benefitting from her passion for a high quality education for all students. I know my child is definitely on the path to college. I can't wait until my son is of age to attend Eagle College Prep, because I know he will receive a top notch education!

For those of you worried about the negative reviews left on this page, I can assure you that EAGLE college prep does NOT have 50 students in any class. The maximum class size is 30 students with two certified teachers in the classroom at all times (1 to 15 ratio). They have enough materials for all of the students and even provided all of the school supplies for all of the students this year. Parents did not have to provide anything except a backpack and uniform. The principal is not anti-parent, but she is anti-disruption of the learning environment. Because of this, parents are asked to schedule a time to observe OR volunteer in the classroom with the classroom teacher and are more than welcome in the classroom at their scheduled time. They also definitely have an answering machine/voicemail service, just call the front office to find out. I have found the staff to be extremely friendly and accommodating to our family's needs. I highly recommend this school.

This school has high standards, regarding both behavior and academics, and my daughter loves it. She came home one day and set up a "homework studio" in the dining room. Now when she gets home she immediately goes there and gets to work. We are expected to read as a family every night, something we would likely do anyway, but it is nice to see we have shared priorities. My wife and I are pleased.

I did some volunteer work at this school this year and I was so impressed by the level of dedication from both the staff and the students and families. As a volunteer, I was able to walk into the classroom and interact with students, and I loved that I was personally greeted by one of the "scholars" in each room, who would tell me what the class was working on and welcome me into their group. It was great to see some students working on computers while others were working in groups with teachers. One student told me that he was going to college in 2026; it's so great to see our young children planning for their futures!

As a parent of two children at EAGLE, I appreciate the dedication of the teachers and principal to the children's learning. The facilities, including classrooms, technology, gym, and playground, are excellent. My kids love going to school everyday and come home happy. They are proud of their school. They've grown academically and in their character because of EAGLE.

I wish I could give this school 0 stars because that's what it deserves. I toured the school last year and LOVED the principal. Well she left and so did the assistant. I've also heard two teachers left. That should have been my clue. The school is so unorganized. They don't have enough books for all the kids and parents are not allowed to come to the school. I have my son on a wait list for another charter school. I can't wait to get out!!! BE WARNED! STAY AWAY.
