im in this school rn and it is horrible... teachers dont grade. counselors will call you stupid and unlearned and blaming whats on the school on you. Honestly id be better off without school at this point. im 18 and STILL havent graduated im in 9th grade just now going to 10th... i did 9th grade 3 times because my teachers failed to grade anything! if it wasnt for mrs.Shannon hazelwood i wouldnt be going to 10th grade. and the best teacher here is miss.amber laing. honestly they should do more for her than they do.. she was the ONLY teacher who didnt put me down and tell me i was stupid. instead she said she was proud of me and she loved me and that she believed in me. if i could give this school a 0/5 stars i would honestly.

STAY AWAY FROM IT!!!! dont go through the same thing i did.

My experience was not great, from the beginning there was a lack of accessibility to the staff and administration. No one ever reached out to me to help give info on the day to day flow of school, how things go and what to expect with how online schooling worked with this school. My kid is in 3rd grade and has 1 out of 5 teachers who always communicates and checks in consistently about my daughter's performance and answers all my questions with detail and clarity. I can't seem to reach anyone in the office to respond to my voicemail messages. We're now in March (4th quarter). There's more to my not so great experience but a lot to type. Overall I feel this school could use improvement. I cried a lot and so did my kid in the first 6 weeks of her schooling, feeling like I made a mistake enrolling her and she was frustrated as well feeling overwhelmed and as if she didn't understand what was required of her from her teachers and hadn't gained understanding of how to navigate on her computer all the different platforms and how to do all her work. She did exceptionally well at her previous school and to get to this school and feel lost and defeated made me feel terrible as a parent. She will be returning to traditional schooling next year even though it is a huge inconvenience for our family, but this school is just not it for her. I've had to figure a lot out on my own and by mistake dealing with this school.
I hope they can make some changes for the better. They just need to show more care and communication.

I went through the process of enrollment for my child. With in a hour got denied enrollment, emails to find out why and no communication. School system in NC is horrible and I see why so many kids are being pushed along. Then you have school like this that are only worried about their ratings and not helping the children whi truly need it.

After two years of homeschooling, my daughter began her 8th grade year at North Carolina Cyber Academy. She ultimately wanted to go to public high-school, so we decided on an online school to help her integrate.
What NCCA provided, far surpassed anything we could have hoped for! I am not tech savy, (100% transparency) so the first few weeks were tough. Tech Support was stellar though. They were so patient, helpful and always worked out the problem.
Soon enough, my daughter was absolutely thriving!! She learned to work hard and earned impressive grades. Her confidence grew in my opinion, because she had to be assertive, responsible and bold. Most importantly, she cared about her attendance and grades! The Middle School Principle Ms. Fleming and the Vice Principle Ms. Perry are INCREDIBLE! We spent some time with them on class trips. They went out of their way to befriend my daughter. There was a genuine interest in getting to know her. They made her feel special. Ms. Anzivino ( Counselor) taught two classes she took called Social & Emotional Learning and College Career Readiness. She was very kind and provided guidance multiple times as we acclimated to a new way of learning. My daughter loved seeing her teacher face to face at school events. Ms. Hall ( ELA) definetly left her mark on my daughter. She is very creative and brought about a more engaging way of teaching that really appealed to my child. My daughter said " Ms. Hall is very personable and easy to talk to. She taught us in a way that related to us and always kept me interested." She also said "Ms. Adams (Math) made it fun and always made sure we absorbed the information, often by being funny."
My daughter choose one of the more challenging Specialty High Schools for next year. I know that she is prepared, Thanks to NCCA!
Do not hesitate, enroll your child. You will be so grateful you did.
We will miss you NCCA, but I will always have you in my "back pocket" for all three of my children!

We are very grateful to be able to get a spot at NCCA. As a parent, the cirruculum given to my child is in line with the in person public schools. The teachers are on top of grading the school assignments. It's very rare to be able to be in contact with the principal during our public school days but at NCCA it was not hard as principal is very much involved with the students and parents. Would definitely recommend this school for those who want to learn and be challenged but yet still surrounded by their peers.

Weve had a great experience at NCCA. Like any school, some teachers are better than others, but overall weve been quite pleased with the educational experience here. It allows me to be more involved in my childs education. Another major advantage is that there are reduced distractions from all of the behavior issues at public school. There are tech issues from time to time but tech assistance has been amazing each time weve had a problem. Virtual school may not be for everyone but its been a fantastic experience for our family.

We have two children in North Carolina Cyber Academy (NCCA) and this is our 4th year. We keep returning year after year as we have been very happy with the school. I feel as if I have great accessibility and approachability to teachers and administrative staff (more than when my child was in a brick and mortar school). The staff are always responsive and friendly. My kids are growing and thriving in their education and we like the platform and schedule of NCCA. They have opportunities to get extra academic help if needed as well as social clubs. We also attend many in person events to interact with other families, staff, and students. Weve even met meaningful friendships with other NCCA families. If you are considering virtual education, I would highly recommend NCCA.

After doing K-7 at a spendy private school, we felt that the environment was becoming very negative and punitive. We dont have an iep or specific special needs, but our daughter does need a little extra support without judgement.
I feel she is finally getting that here at NCCA! No bullying, engaging courses, and friendly teachers! She seems excited to get to class every day and her grades are improving!

My son is on his second year with NCCA and we love it here. The teachers are extremely supportive and engaged with the students and learners who might need additional time and flexibility in completing their work. Im grateful for the staff and the opportunity to have my boy go to school online.

My child was in a private Christian School and was being bullied by teachers and students. Since going to this school my childs grades have improved. She is happy and loves this school. We love this school and she has also been enrolled in the College Career Program so she is able to get a jump start on college classes early. Strongly suggest this school.

This is my daughters first year. She was nervous coming into doing school from home. However, she felt welcomed within moments of joining and has continued to be excited to start her school day everyday since. Administration is great. Teachers are very responsive and helpful. The tech team is great as well. Im beyond happy that I chose NCCA for my daughters education.

I have 2 children in this school, one is 1st grade and one is 8th grade. I have seen such growth at this school for my current 8th grader. He has been in this school since 6th grade. My current 1st grader began in kindergarten and I was quite surprised how well that grade went online. The staff have always been quite helpful and while I dont always agree with the changes being made by the administration, so far they are changes we can live wwith.There are opportunities to meet in person and clubs for the kids to join. It's your option how much you and your children are involved outside their classes. This opportunity has been so much better than brick and mortar. They may push a little harder and give a bit more work and even expect a bit more out of the kids at an earlier age than brick and mortar but so far we have no major complaints. We're very happy with this school.
