As a parent, choosing the right school for my child was one of the most important decisions our family has made. From the moment we joined the RISE community, we knew we had found a place where our child would be seen, supported, and challenged every day.
What stands out most is the genuine care the teachers and staff have for every scholar. My child isn't just another student in the classroomthey are known by name, encouraged to grow, and held to high expectations in a way that builds confidence instead of discouragement. The teachers communicate regularly with families, celebrate successes, and work alongside us whenever our child needs extra support.
The classroom environment is engaging, structured, and focused on learning. I've been impressed by how teachers create opportunities for scholars to ask questions, think critically, collaborate with classmates, and develop leadership skills. It's clear that academics are a priority, but so is character development. My child is learning resilience, responsibility, and respect alongside reading, math, science, and other subjects.
The sense of community at RISE is something you can feel as soon as you walk through the doors. Families are welcomed as partners, and there are many opportunities to stay involved through school events, celebrations, volunteer opportunities, and open communication. The staff truly wants families to feel connected and informed.
One thing I especially appreciate is that RISE continues to grow and improve each year. The leadership listens to feedback, communicates openly, and is always looking for ways to make the school even stronger. That commitment gives me confidence that my child is in a place that never settles for "good enough."
Most importantly, my child enjoys going to school. They come home excited to share what they've learned, talk about their teachers and friends, and take pride in their accomplishments. As a parent, there's no better feeling than knowing your child is safe, challenged academically, and surrounded by adults who genuinely believe in their potential.
If you're looking for a school where your child will be known, challenged, supported, and encouraged to become their very best, I highly recommend RISE Charter School. It has been an incredible experience for our family, and we're grateful to be part of such a caring and inspiring community.

We have been with this school for 4 years currently. We have a 3rd grader and a kindergartener. We absolutely love this school. The teachers truly care and are phenomenal. The academics put them ahead of public school. They challenge the scholars and hold them accountable while still giving them a loving, supportive environment. My oldest has an IEP and they sometimes implement things thats not in his IEP thats just something they think may be beneficial to him . He gets speech, OT, small social group. We love the culture and staff and they truly treat us like family.

This was our first year at RISE and I must say they lived up to everything they told me during our tour. RISE was our 4th school experience but 3rd charter. What stood out is their dedication to their scholars. My oldest disliked school so much, use to call me everyday or asked if I was picking him up early. There were times he cried and wouldnt get out car. Since attending RISE I have yet to receive a call or even have to fight for him to get out my car . He gets upset when I pick him up early! This has been the first time my kid has been on grade level! The way he receives support from his teachers is amazing! The EC team is amazing! I have a kinder and 3rd grader and both have made tremendous leaps and bounds. They get celebrated as a whole not only if they received As and Bs , but for their effort , their character. As far as parent involvement I always there volunteering and chaperoning the staff loves it! They encourage parent involvement! The school has the right balance of structure and fun. Kiddos receive homework on Mondays due on Fridays if an extension is needed I communicate that with the teacher and they allow it.
Communication with both the teachers and admin has been top tier! Keep in mind I said weve been to 4 different schools. From class dojo , talking points , emails, social media post its been great!
Teachers have been dedicated to making sure these kids are learning and understanding what their learning
I am sad that I didnt choose RISE sooner! But glad I found it at the RIGHT time!
I am so proud to be part of the Eagle Family, all I need is for them to come out with Parent swag :)

This is, without question, the best school environment I have ever experienced.
I spent a year as a substitute teacher across the Triangle area and previously served 8 years as a full-time teacher in Wake County Public Schools, working in three different schools. During that time, I had the privilege of working under some outstanding leadershipincluding Elena Ashburn, who I long considered the best principal I had ever encountered.
However, after spending time with this staff and observing the students here, I can confidently say that what Principal Jowers is building is truly exceptional. There is a culture, energy, and level of care that is hard to fully capture in wordsbut you feel it immediately.
Simply put, this is the best school environment I have ever seen. Keep up the incredible work!

We loved RISE for the past two years, but something changed over the summer that drastically affected how staff interact with students. The environment now feels too strict and unwelcoming, almost like a jail, and my kids no longer enjoy being there. Its a fight every morning to get them to school. Enrichment opportunities such as band, music, and language are minimal or nonexistent. Communication has always been poor and unorganized, and parents are not made to feel welcome in any way. We tolerated these issues before, but unfortunately, it has reached a point where we can no longer overlook them. Sadly, it feels like the ship is sinking.

I wouldn't recommend this school to a flea. My kids have been nothing but bullied the entire year. Staff is NEVER around when this is happening and no one knows anything. Then it just happens all over again. Their communication is horrific, their grading system is horrendous. My kids are miserable and I cannot wait to get them out of there.

I personally think RISE is a good school. My son been at RISE when it was formally known as PAVE. I didnt want to put my kids in a public school based off the experience I had with my other 2 kids. I like RISE because all kids wear uniforms. I dont have to worry about my child trying to fit in with clothes. RISE curriculum is definitely designed to help these kids succeed and go above and beyond. RISE push these kids to their maxim potential. The teachers are caring as well.

This is our first year at RISE Charter School for my 2 children, our previous Charter school did not take the time to assist my son with any services he needed and wanted to suspend him if they thought he was about to get a little rowdy, this prompt me to transfer my children to another school. I moved to Raleigh during the summer and I knew I didn't want my kids in a public school because my children are not used to a Public school setting. I applied for Rise and was added to the waiting list and a few days later I received a call saying my kids could start on Monday! My daughter is in 4th grade this year and has had an amazing experience thus far besides one incident that happened not on school grounds but involved children from the school. I went to the principal and the behavior specialist and they did help and had the girls talk the situation out. I appreciate the effort because even thou the incident DID NOT happen at school, I commend them for not letting it escalate onto school grounds. My son has the most CONCERNED, ATTENTIVE, KINDHEARTED, PATIENCE, and THOUGHTFUL woman in the world, I just want to praise her exceptional qualities. My son's teacher saw the potential in him that no other teacher took the time to acknowledge, his teacher knew that my son would benefit from other services and she advocated so hard for him to receive an IEP and tutoring. The growth and determination he has now are beyond anything I could have imagined, he is excited to go to school, he loves his teacher, and he's upset if she is absent! I can't express how much this school has helped BOTH of my children in their education and social skills because the positive impact that RISE has made on my children will continue to be my reassurance that I made the right move!

This school has a phenominal staff. I have 2 children enrolled here (4th grade & 1st grade) - I am extremely happy with the education they are currently receiving. This is my sons 5th year attending this school. He LOVES IT!! Both my son and daughter love this school, and they are motivated and excited about learning. The teachers here are very dedicated and supportive. They go the extra mile to ensure ALL the children have an excellent understanding of the curriculum being taught. In my experiences here, the teachers have even demonstrated support and concern for the emotional and mental well-being of the children. My children are receiving a Top-Notch education and I highly recommend this school!!
