Substituted at this school. About 4-5 kids in each period who do the work, and appear to belong in the grade level. The rest just ignore it and do nothing but play on their phones the entire time. At least half the kids have obviously been pushed through each year rather than being held back. Lots of debilitating behavioral issues. 60% of the kids legitimately seem functionally illiterate. Deeply depressing and upsetting. Its in a new-ish neighborhood that seems nice, so not sure whats up, either way whatever funding this school gets is money being set on fire.

Here for 2 school years, and fights were happening all the time last school year, the staff is lazy, judgmental, and the way the teachers teach is just flat out confusing. During the past two school years, there were frequent fights last year. The staff is unmotivated and judgmental, and the teaching methods used by the teachers are flat-out confusing.

The orientation made me feel very confident and the school caring about childrens safety and learning. While I do believe they care about the childrens learning and excelling. Im not too confident in them making sure kids are being safe. I had an experience where I had a report a message about a student taking a knife to school and the first principal that went up to the office didnt realize I was standing there and out loud said what does it have to do with me, secondly, the child that made this threat only got suspended for five days. How was that supposed to make a Parent feel comfortable?

I went to this school for 2022-2025, and to be brutally honest, it was a total mess. Fights almost occurring every time, barely any real learning, and most of the teachers seemed like theyd rather be anywhere else. They talk a lot about some lies saying they have enough support and safety, but all we really got was chaos in the halls, and half-baked food that looked like it was microwaved in 1997.

Mental health? Yeah, good luck on getting that. You could be having the worst day ever and no one would notice. Special ed was the only part that felt like someone cared.

If you want loud hallways, constant drama, and lunch that tastes like drywall, River Bend is for you. Hope they change one day, but right now? It aint it.

My grandchild is going to this school this year. He has been subjected to bullying ,cussing like sailors and being beat up. The teachers and the principal seem to be oblivious to all the cussing and fighting and bullying. One boy even told my grandchild that he was going to rape somebody in the behind!There seems to be alot of sexual talk as well, which I think is too much for 6th graders to even comprehend!My grandchild is not raised in this kind of environment. He comes from a two-parent home of educated parents and he lives in that neighborhood and my grandchild is having a hard time in the classroom because of all the negative noise these other kids are making. The neighborhood is a newer one and 95% of the homes are homeowners. What I'm hearing is 90% of the students at Riverbend Middle School don't even live in this area. All I can say is shame on the principal and teachers for allowing an A student to be a D student in math because the adults cannot control their school.

I attended River Bend between 2018-2020 so the school has probably changed. Most teachers are friendly and helpful, as long as you arent a problem student which would obviously prompt them to change their attitude towards you. But every now and then there are a handful of teachers that are downright awful and wont even try. The school was a bit dirty but it is more aesthetically pleasing than most schools, inside and out. The food is decent but that shouldnt affect ones rating. The only problem with this school is the students attending. Many do not care about their education and it reflects in their intelligence and thought process. This causes many scuffles, drug use, and disrespect towards peers and teachers. Overall a good school as long as you or your student is willing and prepared to learn.

From my child being there for 1 year she has always had a problem with this school the students are out of control and the school needs a new principal she is bad at the mouth she talk bad on the kids and parents in front of staff

Worst school ever, would not recommend. School is behind in academic learning, does not deal with bullying. Most teachers will accuse you of cheating for no reason, I was accused of cheating because my writing was "too formal for someone my age" and without any further explanation. Never send your kids to this school don't let them suffer in trying to learn through this horrible curriculum, teachers and unfairness. This school is a joke.

My daughter did not receive the academic support she needed from teachers here. There was literally no attention paid to her besides yelling commands at her. Highly strict and it comes off abusive. They dont offer enough academically to have such a gorgeous surrounding neighborhood.

The teachers and staff pay very little attention to the needs of the students academics. No additional help is offered and teachers dont care enough about students but rather encode authority and strict behavior for no reason other than prejudice views of low income families

Some are and others are not. Some teachers are progressive in their teaching methods and others really dont engage as well as they could. They rely heavily on using workbooks. It would be nice to see more project based learning and fun learning activities.

Wonderful experience with entire staff and faculty. The teachers are incredibly committed to the kids and the Principal...cant say enough good words about her. Truly wonderful experience start to finish.
