I am a student that comes to this school and there are always fights and people vandalizing the school bathrooms and people calling each other slur words like the n word and the teachers are not doing anything about it. kid are also bullying others. And some of the teachers are bad at teaching to not teach at all. And some of the teachers are so mean that they are ruining the student's mental and physical health. so I don't recommend this school at all.

I've gone here, trust me it's hell. I have to deal with the stupid pressure of how the girls and boys expect me to act like because of my gender, and to date boys, ad dealing with my metal heath and my parents and my grades, if you don't want your kids to ever try to kill themselves, don't send them here

Surf City Middle is a great school for kids to attend. Teachers and staff put the kids first. The band is a great opportunity for kids to have fun while learning.

My sibling has come home every day for months crying or complaining about bullies, I wouldnt recommend this school to anyone who takes their childs mental health seriously. My sibling has spoken to multiple teachers and counselors begging them to do something about the bullying but they do nothing which continues to promote bullying against minorities, my sibling is a minority and says that children who are part of the lgbtq, POC, poorer students, and ones with mental challenges are often bullied without any help from teachers or staff. If you dont begin to fix this I will go to the city council or the superintendent. Ive filed multiple complaints with no responses. This school is horrible. Not to mention the children arent engaged in their work and teachers dont make it more exciting for them. These children could have bright futures if your staff would only encourage them. Do better.

i go to this school i advise you don't send your child here assault is common here they give the special kids leverage to hurt kids and not have any consequences kids were burned and stabbed i personally had a experience with a kid that called me slangs such a the n word then proceeded to grab me and the situation became violent with punches being thrown. if i could count there has been 6 cases of the following in the last few weeks. you can pull up article about it a wect. the bathrooms are destroyed with vulgar stuff being written on walls people stealing soap dispensers and slapboxes are also becoming a common thing. if you have a child that tends to get bullied that wont get any better.

I have been going to Surf City Middle since 6th Grade, I am now in 8th but this school is one of the most homophobic, racist, trans phobic schools you will ever step foot in whenever you have a bully the teachers won't do anything they'll say they have your back and wont even talk to the bully.

We love SCM. I have one entering 6th grade and one entering 8th grade. The school is beautiful, the teachers are top notch, and the extracurricular programs are wonderful. 5 stars.
