Based on my experience with this school, I would not recommend it. Communication with families is very poor, and I do not feel that parents concerns are taken seriously. I have sent emails to the principal and the assistant principal and did not receive a response.
I also feel that the school does not provide enough attention or support regarding my childs IEP. There does not seem to be a full staff available to properly provide the IEP services and support that students need.
I have also personally experienced situations involving my son that I felt were unfair and concerning, including behavior that I perceived as discriminatory.
If you have another school option available, I would strongly consider choosing it. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this school to other families.

Students are pushed hard enough to have mental health decline, teachers are pushed beyond their pay grade and sanity, admin gives little to no support to teachers when they are needed for behavioral issues or take the whole day to respond even when taking proper communication techniques, teachers expected to do much more beyond their own classroom responsibilities, common place for teachers to leave halfway through the year and a lack of subs so be prepared for combining classes and being a team player on most days. Yours happen throughout the day so be prepared to be a zoo exhibit as you teach.
There are initiatives for fundraisers all year long and put an importance on the families that give this money. If you are a lower-income family or a parent that cannot be completely involved in every little event, expect to be overlooked in your value to the community.
Teachers are amazing, admin lacks heavily due to being too occupied with project coordination of building the school, making promo videos for marketing, and offering detached support that doesnt allow for collaboration when it is desperately needed.

As a parent whose child is currently enrolled, I can confidently say that Doral Academy is a gem! The teachers are not only nurturing and patient, but also incredibly intentional in how they guide each childs growth socially, emotionally, and academically. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity and build foundational skills in both literacy and math, while still honoring the importance of play and creativity. I especially appreciate how the program integrates hands-on learning, cultural celebrations, and character development into everyday routines. My child comes home excited to share what theyve learned, and Ive seen such growth in their confidence and independence. I am so grateful to the staff; they always go above and beyond to make sure every child feels safe, loved, and ready to thrive.

My daughter is on her 3rd year here and we have overall had a very positive experience. She has an IEP for ADHD and I have been satisfied with her accommodations. The curriculum is rigorous and there is some homework each week, which has taken some getting used to. The school environment is very supportive. The principal is a strong leader and very approachable. She has always been prompt to respond to my concerns. This school may not be a great fit for every student. The academic workload is high and there is a need for strong parent involvement to ensure success with the curriculum. But they work hard and play hard. There are many incentives for good behavior. They have a lot of rewards and fun events. The school staff really goes above and beyond to make Doral a fun place for the students. My daughter WANTS to go to school and gets upset if she has to miss a day. They get fun "specials" classes, including Lego building (STEAM) music, Spanish, and PE. While they don't have a playground for the older kids, they get 45 minutes of PE outdoors or in the gym each day. Bullying is addressed promptly and not tolerated. I feel safe with my child here and I feel like the teachers are very engaged with the students and care for their well-being.

This school is amazing! My daughter has been here since the start, and Im so grateful. Sure, kids need to study and do well, but isnt that what were all looking for when we choose a great school for our kids?. This is not a daycare, this is preparing them for the future ahead.

The school is a joke. They appear to be a top notch inclusive school but are not. The principal is arrogant, self-righteous, and manipulative. Leadership only want parents money but dont want you at the school unless you are volunteering. The staff bullies students. There is no transparency. A lot of families and the great teachers have left due to the toxic school environment. Teachers quit with no notice. They have a high staff turnover. They only care about the families making them look good. You will notice they disabled Google reviews because they dont want people to know how awful they are. They also treat there teachers bad. They hired teachers that are not qualified. And they are very dishonest. They also discriminate especially against African American students. Bullying is allowed. If a student is white, Hispanic or a child of someone who works there they will be treated like gold, if not good luck. Youve been warned.

As a parent, I would not recommend Doral Academy if your child has an IEP, 504 Plan, or learns differently. This school does not have the resources and is not built to support neurodiverse students or those who need individualized attention. Even when the staff is made aware of documented learning needs, there is very little effort to adjust instruction or provide accommodations.
The workload is heavy, and everything revolves around perfect test performance. If your child does not pass the EOG state testing, they WILL be retained, regardless of their learning plan or academic progress throughout the year. Its a test-driven environment that offers little flexibility or compassion for students who dont fit their mold.
Another red flag, a number of teachers have resigned recently. This constant turnover will impacted consistency in the classroom, and its clear that staff are under a lot of pressure as well.
If your child is a high-performing test taker, maybe itll be a fit. But if they need any kind of tailored support, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere.

This school is completely out of balance. The academic workload is overwhelming, especially for elementary-aged students, and there is no recess, which is unacceptable for growing kids. Its clear the school is obsessed with test scores, not actual learning or the emotional well-being of its students.
The environment feels cold and rigid. Children are treated more like data points than people. There is very little flexibility, compassion, or support, especially for students who need a more individualized approach.
Communication is inconsistent, and it often feels like parents are an afterthought. If I could go back and choose differently, I absolutely would.
This school may look good on paper, but the reality is a completely different story. BE AWARE.

I love Doral. It is exactly what we signed up for and most importantly my child loves it too. It is a high rigor school and for us that is great. The students and teachers work hard and it shows! We love the academic push that is not typically found in other schools. We love the various activities and we love the teachers.

We have had a positive experience with the Pre-K team at Doral. The teachers genuinely care about the students growth and success, and make activities fun for them. Both of my kids have enjoyed their time in pre-K and learned so much. A special shoutout goes to Mrs. Silva who is warm, nurturing, and incredibly dedicated to helping each child grow socially, emotionally, and academically

My child is always excited to go to school. Hw knows all the staff and they know him by name. It helps my child feel seen, therefore he is more engaged. They also have a very diverse student and staff which is important for us.

As a parent of two students in DANC I can certainly say kids are on the best hands. They will treat students as their own kids. Learning experience has been the best. Seeing how they actually growth not only academically but emotional and social is a major plus. Every day is such a fun experience from beginning to end. Rest assure you wont regret your decision.

We had a wonderful experience with the pre-K program our son attended! From day one, it was clear that this was a special place. His teacher was incredibly kind, caring, and truly invested in his growthnot just academically, but emotionally as well. It meant the world to us to know that he was not only learning but also loved and nurtured.
Every morning, our son woke up excited to go to school, eager to find out what he would be learning that day. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to make learning fun and engaging, and it does a fantastic job of preparing children for kindergarten. Through a mix of reading, math, computer time, and social activities, the program helps kids develop the skills they need to succeed in the next stage of their education.
Were so grateful for the positive start this program gave our child. Its a warm, supportive, and enriching environment, and we highly recommend it to any family looking for a strong foundation in early childhood education.

Weve had a wonderful experience with Doral. We started with their PreK program, and were thrilled to have our child continue into kindergarten. The school goes above and beyond to create a safe, welcoming environment where children can thrive. The teachers are incredibly dedicated, nurturing, and truly invested in each childs growth. Were grateful to be part of such a supportive and caring school community.

This school is honestly a nightmare. They leave their doors open most of the time, so basically anyone can get in. They dont care if youre stressed or burnt out, they just keep piling on the work. The teachers are unbelievably disrespectful to students, yet theyre so quick to tell your parents that youre slacking off. Plus, they dont do anything about bullying. Theres a special needs student whos been bullied since the start of the school year, and no one has stepped in to help. Before you enroll your child here, just remember all of this.

We started with this school when it first opened and my kids love it. They have grown so much, are excited to go to school, and miss it during summer break. The teachers are kind, thoughtful and truly invested in the kids. It is new so there are still some growing pains (carpool and space issues for events mostly), but nothing that we can't manage. We love our school!

Toxic school community. Most staff are friends and family, so you can imagine how that goes if you ever have an issue. Unqualified teachers. Please look deeper into this school. Online everything looks like rainbows and sunshine but that's because all the negative stuff is hidden. They told a second grader that the next time she's late she's getting detention. Who came up with that bright idea? Like a second grader has any control over being late. This school is a joke.
