My daughter was in the dual program from Kinder-5th grade. She loved the school, all of her teachers and the students in her classes. The staff is friendly, engaging and they work with families to ensure that the students have what they need to be successful. I highly recommend this school and the dual immersion program.

My daughter has been in the dual language program at Hodge road elementary for 3 years now. We love it! All off the teachers are so caring, and the administrators are wonderful. I feel my child is in a very safe learning environment daily. The PTA is great too!

This is my child's first year at Hodge road elementary and I am amazed at how great the school as at communicating with parents and the community. The school has so many events that support children's learning in both education and character development. Parents are even invited to things too! My kid loves it there, and feels so welcome. Best teachers, and admin is so personable.

This school does not do anything for children who are getting bullied. Not the principal, the assistant principal, the counselor, the teachers. Do not expect for anyone to do anything to help your child because they wont.

I have 2 children at Hodge (2nd & kindergarten) and we love it. Both my kids are in the Spanish Immersion Program and we are so happy with their experience. All the teachers we have had have been loving and given our kids a great experience. The school is small, but that's one thing we love about it. It gets a rap as an undesirable school, maybe because of test scores?, but as a former educator, I know that that number rarely relates to the quality of a school. If you get a chance, send your kids to Hodge! You won't regret it!

This is our 2nd year at hodge and for all the parents out there, most of these reviews and statistics are old. The school has changed DRASTICALLY in a positive way within the last 3 years

We went to 2 other local schools prior to hodge and hodge blows them all out of the water!

My son has adhd and social anxiety. He doesn't make friends easily. The staff at hodge took this seriously and helped my son twice a week for most of last year to help him strength his social skills and be less anxious about making new friends. They go above and beyond

Very organized and the PTA is doing amazing things to help the school
Posted: September 6, 2018
Again, my son is adhd and Mr. HILL at hodge does wonders with helping kids with and without disabilities
Posted: September 6, 2018
1st school we have been to where bullying is taken very seriously and not tolerate what so ever
Posted: September 6, 2018
The best. I cannot recommend them enough

This school is a great school. My children love the teachers and are always excited about the learning criteria. They also offer dual classes which is Spanish and English. Kudos to you Hodge Rd Elementary!

It was a lot favoritism in that school. My child would cry everyday not to go to school. The teacher never made her feel comfortable. The kids were mean. The teacher never paid attention to the children. Every time my child had something to say the teachers never listened to her. I do they know if it was important or not. Terrible school.

This school is not the worst school, But not the best at all. My daughter was in there for a couple of months. And everyday she came home, she was complaining about other kids hitting her. And not just a hit because some kids play rough,But some of the things she told me. I was very upset. I spoke to the teachers on several occasions and still no change. It was a lot of favoritism in the school. I would email her teachers to see how she was doing. Or to remind them of something and they never responded back as a teacher that was very unprofessional. I also spoke with the principal but things were still the same. So I knew it was time for me to remove my child from that school, which I did!!! The overall ratings of this school is terrible. I would not recommend this school to anyone close to me. It was a number of things that went on that I just didn't agree with at all. I am so happy I removed her from hodge road elementary. It was her first school she ever went to, And she had a terrible time.

This school has, bar none, some of the best teachers in the county. If you look at the students' scores longitudinally, you will see that the children in this school improve every year they are there. The teachers put 110% into their kids every day. They face great hardship financially because many many parents in the school are working more than one job to make ends meet and a LARGE number of children are ESL. But I have never seen a bunch of educators so willing to go the extra mile and do so much with so little support from the Board of Education or the town of Knightdale.

My daughter started here in first grade now going to third I haven't had any issues the teachers are great my daughter is doing great and she loves the school

Bar none the worst elementary school we've exprienced and I blame it on those in charge. We have been vocal over very valid concerns with the school and all they do is turn the situation around to attempt to make us look bad. The school is lacking in so many areas...it's poorly funded and Principal needs to be replaced...That is the only hope this school has at this point. If you are zoned here and care about your child's education, do not go here - people removed their kids for a reason!

the leadership in the school needs better training or at least better communication skills. I've been to all the after school parent activities and have never seen the principal. if she is there she has never introduced herself. Not the teachers, but the administration seems like they don't want see or interact with the parents. For me this is shocking. i don't think the teachers are bad but they are not consistent with there enforcement of class rules. Some kids get in trouble and some kids don't, for doing the same things. little kids notice this kind of treatment and that's not good. I think this will be the last year my child will attend Hodge Road elementary school.

Amazing school. The parents in the area take their kids out of this school but what they don't understand is this is the best school in the area. The teachers are great, the board is forced to bring non English speaking kids in because of all the parents in the area that took their kids out. Go here!

I absolutely agree with an earlier review that Hodge Road has some of the best teachers in Wake County. My daughter is a 5th grader there. All but one teacher has been wonderful and made our experience meaningful. It is also true that the focus and resources lean heavily to the ESL and low performing students. The principal is not consistent in her leadership and support of the teachers. If we had other choices, we would not choose to attend here.

This is a really good school with probably the most talented teachers in the state. As the earlier review said the board of education dealt them some bad cards in sending non english speaking students there but what they have done with it is great. The area around the school is great, they just need more of the actual knightdale parents to send their kids there so it can balance out the population.

I believe that this school focuses more on children that are ESL and doesnt focus on those who are not. I believe that my sons expierence here would have been better is he would have had a classroom that all children were treated the same. Instead they labled him as the trouble maker and there is a complaint about him every day. Some of the complaints were he was talking in class... he is 5. What 5 yr old doesnt talk in class? I believe the teachers need a better handle of the children they are teaching and need to focus on all of the children and not one group of them.

This is not a good school and obviously offers no support to their teachers. Two teachers have left halfway through the year and who did they bring in to take their places- (fresh new teachers that have never taught a class before) - These teachers yell constantly as they cannot control the class* your child will not learn at this school ! Also they only care about the ESL students in which they get all the funding for programs to teach these students**

This school has completely failed my son. The poverty levels are high, as are ESL students so no one has time for him. Every day he comes home asking me when will he get to finally learn something new.
