At Cathedral some teachers and administrators genuinely care about the students and consistently show respect to all families. Those individuals create a supportive environment and set a positive example for students.

At times, it felt like only certain students and families were truly welcomed and valued. The high principal turnover has also been concerning and creates a lack of stability. As a faith-based school, there should be more consistency in leading with kindness, fairness, and GodÂ’s love toward all students and families.

Suggested Changes:
Communication needs significant improvement. Staff could benefit from additional leadership, communication, and professionalism training to better support students and families.

Overall:
For the cost of private school tuition, families expect stronger communication, consistency, and treatment. Unfortunately, our experience in those areas was often disappointing.

We have really enjoyed sending our daughter to school here for the first couple of years. Our son is now getting ready to join her for K. I love the small community aspect and the staff/teachers all seem to really enjoy their jobs and have positive relationships with the kids. The learning is rigorous but they also have fun with field trips, playing outside, and plenty of other family orientated activities, as well. We enjoy the volunteer opportunities for the school, local community, and global partners. You don't have to be Catholic to attend here.

We have 2 kids at Cathedral and we love it. Small community feel, loving environment, caring teachers, fair homework load. No issues with bullying. We're not Catholic and we still feel welcome. The student body is very diverse which is hard to find in a private school. The kids are respectul and kind to each other. We've been here for 6 years and we are still very happy with our choice.

My child is going into the 2nd grade and her 1st grade teacher could not be more of an exemplary model of this. Every day she taught the children that they would not use words or actions to hurt others but to lift them up and be kind. I love that this school focuses on character in addition to learning.

We have been there for 2 years = since kindergarten. My daughter has loved each class and I am so pleased with all the staff. they really do treat the children like family and she is getting such a great education. I would like to see more on learning languages at an earlier age since we live in a diverse world.

send out weekly homework sheets for younger grades- very easy to see their workload and what they need to work. Helpful for parents and teacher. I would prefer that they print it out and send home weekly liked they used to as not all of us see things digitally but very happy with the organized efforts and I think great academic standards. My only complaint is that for a private school - they should start with a language at Kindergarten. 4th of 5th grade is far too late.

We have been apart of the Cathedral family for six years. Wonderful atmosphere, great teachers and we could not be happier

The Cathedral leadership will not tolerate bullying and is dealt with immediately and without hesitation

"We love God, learning and each other". This is the motto said every morning by the faculty and students at assembly

They are passionate, caring and committed to providing our children a wonderful education and life skills

The school does a nice job balancing the amount of homework assigned by grade level

My daughter starting Cathedral school in her 3rd grade year. From the moment we began school at Cathedral I knew it was the best decision I could have made for her. The teachers were amazing in every way possible. Her education was guided with loving hands. life long friends , parents and teachers are a real team and support system. if you are looking for the best education partnered with a loving family environment Cathedral is your school . my daughter went on to Cardinal Gibbons and is graduating this year from College. She always has said that her years at Cathedral were her best years and the education she received at cathedral even though it was elementary and jr high prepared her for college. We will forever have a special place in our hearts for Cathedral school

We are so grateful for this school. My daughter started Kindergarten in August 2013 and she is so happy there. The learning environment is excellent, everyone at the school is friendly and there's so much opportunity to volunteer and be involve. We are not Catholic but we still feel like we are part of this loving community.

My daugther is a kindergartener at Cathedral School and she and I love it! Before she was accepted into Cathedral we went to visit/tour the school twice; once during the open house and another time after that. Both times we received a warm greeting by students and faculty members. In addition to the close nit community at Cathedral, my child has been challenged academically and receives continued support and encouragement from Cathedral's faculty and staff. I look forward to seeing her graduate from Cathedral in 2020! Go Knights!

When we were looking for schools around the area, we were told about Cathedral. We compared it to schools such as The Raleigh School and Ravenscroft. We chose Cathedral for its atmosphere, committment to academic excellence and high standards for the children, staff and teachers. Parents are encouraged to be involved and are! We LOVE Cathedral and more importantly, so does our daughter.

My daughter attended Cathedral School when my husband and I moved to Raleigh, NC. I was very pleased with the atmosphere and the community/family feel of the school. This was definitely one of the best choices that I made!

Excellent school. We have 2 children that attend Cathedral. Teachers are awesome! There are many after school activities offered that all children are able to participate in - band, chess club, sports, etc.

Both of my childen attended Cathedral School over a span of 11 years and are now in high school and college. In looking back I can honestly say that this school was one of the best choices my husband and I have ever made! There was never one day that my children did not want to go to school (even begged to go when they were sick!!) or one day that I regretted our decision. It is the BEST school in Wake County and the only choice as far as I am concerned. You will find newer and bigger, but you will not find the quality of education (check out test scores...ours are usually the highest due to the quality of teachers and their love for the children and education!)
