I would typically recommend this school, but there will always be some teachers and students (Obviously classes too) that make the experience less enjoyable. I feel, as a student, that it can be hard to get your point across to teachers. Sometimes you can get lucky, but not regularly.

I think this school is very good, so far as education goes, but most of the teachers do not notice or care when students may be struggling emotionally or mentally, versus the fact that they are so quick to tell us when we aren't doing well in classes. Especially as a Christian school trying to bring us closer to God, many of the rules and regulations that they so strictly enforce at this school may tend to lead many students away from the path that administration is trying to direct us on.

The school itself and the teachers my child has had have been pleasant, the unfortunate issue lies with the administration and those in power. They have obvious biases against certain students and certain family types that don't fall under the traditional 2 parent household. When you try to voice concerns to them it genuinely feels like speaking to a brick wall because they dismiss everything you say almost immediately and refuse to see anything but "their way". They simply cannot admit to the possibility that they may have made a mistake and they back each other up among the administrative staff using statements like "ive been doing this for years" or "ive known them for years" as weak justification for why they are correct and they will even refuse to meet with parents to hear their side in regards to complaints about other administration members. Additionally, to get any action to happen on their part you have to pester them over and over until they finally do the thing they originally assured you they would do. It feels like they could honestly care less about some of the parents opinions. We have felt like they have been continually contradicting the godly values they claim as their foundation yet they're the first thing they spew at you when you try to voice your concerns as a means to refute you. My child has made wonderful friends at this school but unfortunately due to the short comings of the administration and their negative attitudes we will be parting ways with this school.

As we venture into our 7th year at FCS, after moving from Southport 7 years ago, I cannot express how much gratitude I have to the teachers and staff at FCS! My children continue to grow academically AND spiritually!

From my personal standpoint, I feel the teachers are extremely effective! Both of my students do very well in the classroom. If they ever struggle with the class work, teachers are more than willing to stay after school to help them!

I have two children that are enrolled at FCS. This is our 11th year being part of this wonderful school family! I can go to work with peace of mind that my kids are in a safe and loving environment. Getting the best quality education in a Christian environment is a bonus!!!!

Both my middle school and high school students are very reasonable amounts of homework. The beauty of FCS is, if you ever have an issue, no matter what it is, our teachers and/or office staff are always willing to listen and work with you to address whatever the issue may be.

The teachers are good but when a teacher is out on extended absence, a substitute that is not qualified teaches for that period (6-8 weeks is a long time to be with a substitute that tells the kids math is not her best subject.) One child is in elementary and I am OK. My 7th grader can't wear a coat to school because their locker is 12 in tall and no room for the coat. They are not allowed to leave coats on rack in locker room and cannot wear anything to class without school logo bought at the school. If you want to wear a toboggan because it is below 32 degrees, you have to pay $1 everyday. Middle School is in mobile units and even in blowing rain, they have to walk from class to class outside. Kids have to wait outside in the cold until bell rings at 7:50am and then are allowed to enter the building. Put up with this few years too many.

My son attended prekindergarten here 2013-2014. We loved it. It was his first full time school experience and he blossomed. Tuition, although competitively priced for the area and not unreasonable compared to prices I've seen elsewhere, was a strain, and the reason he did not return for kindergarten. Hopefully he'll return for 1st/2nd grade.

Both of my children benefited from the academic excellence, love, and guidance during their time at Fayetteville Christian School. There are several private schools to chose from in the Fayetteville and surrounding area; however, I feel that FCS is the best choice. If you are looking for a school that will help you instill a biblical worldview and sense of community in your child. My children have both graduated from FCS and went on to realize much success. They both have thanked us for the sacrifice we made of paying for their education rather than opting to send them to public school. They both love FCS and speak fondly of the school, their teachers, and time spent there. We are so thankful to the administration, the faculty, and staff for your unending dedication and love you showed our children. Keep fighting the good fight!!!

Hahahaaa i have read all the reviews and i am with the MAJORITY! You will never find a perfect school for your child(ren) nor perfect leaders and teachers. that being said, if you want to know if FCS can give you a quality education, a biblical view Vs the World view, standards that are in agreement with yours, and a good partnership to help you give your kids quality training and opportunities...take a look at their alumni- teachers, nurses, doctors and other positions in the medical fields, counselors, social workers, administrators, pastors, missionaries, West Point Grads, ROTC GRads, Soldiers both NCOs and Officers, business owners, Artists, Chefs...on and on. in addition to quality education, the Athletic Dept and the Music Dept, the Electives offered help nurture and grow the giftings and interest of their students. Teachers are approachable and are willing and interested in helping students and working with parents. we have Administration and teachers, praying daily for the school and students. a Dad and Mom's prayer group. The corrective action taken in situations are handle appropriately. Its rarely perfect in correcting students. FCS is not for every family-pray about.

I am a parent and employee of FCS. My kids love FCS and thrive academically. The teachers have high standards and motivate students to do their best. Of course there are students who misbehave, including mine from time to time. I have found the administration to be just and fair and to give discipline that is fair and reasonable. I know some parents get upset when told their kids did something wrong and then want to blame to school, but I am not one of those parents. I know my kids mess up from time to time... I am thankful for a school staff that cares enough to hold them accountable. Our kids will graduate from the school!

I have been a teacher at Fayetteville Christian for 6 years and I have loved being a part of this ministry. This is a very family-oriented school. I have been so appreciative of the support and encouragement I have received from the administration and families in the school. The administration works diligently to make improvements to curriculum, technology, and policies so we can meet the needs of all of our students. I am constantly being challenged to become a better teacher. I am so thankful God brought me to FCS!

As the parent of two high schoolers, I cannot say enough about what a great school FCS is. The standards that we hold for our children at home are the same as those set by the school. Our students are challenged academically as well as having many opportunities to explore extra curricular activities in both sports & the arts. My children's teachers are amazing. The meet & exceed all academic standards of being a great educator while also being totally accessible & so easy to talk to. I know that they love my children & want the best for them. They, as well as the administration, are educating them for today to prepare them for the future, both academically & spiritually. We could have chosen any private school in Fay't that we wanted. FCS felt like family to us. We are home & happy about it!

FCS is a great school. Our children have attended for 8 years. The teachers and administration love the Lord and provide an environment of spiritual and academic excellence. The opportunities our children have had through mission projects and real life spiritual application has been a blessing. We appreciate the partnership we have experienced with the school. The faculty and administration have always been approachable and sincere. Schools are like families; they all have their ups and downs, but FCS is the real deal. After spending 13 years at FCS as a student, graduating in 2011 and returning during my summers back from college to help out, it is fair to say that I have spent a lot of time at FCS. I have seen and experienced it as a student and alumna and am more than impressed with so many aspects. First, the focus on teaching students about God's love and Word is the most important part of the mission of the school, as it should be. The faculty and staff exemplify genuine love for the students and find it a privilege and great responsibility to prepare the students spiritually, academically and socially. As I prepare to enter my senior year of college, I find myself looking back on my FCS experience with great appreciation. From the spiritual development I received, especially through my senior mission trip to Zambia, Africa, and personal discipleship, to the academic knowledge I gained, I don't think I could have had a better experience. I also greatly appreciate the numerous extracurricular and athletic opportunities I had and the great relationships I formed with teachers and staff, which I still hold. Now, in college, I feel I can attribute a lot of my success to all I learned at FCS.

Hahahaaa i have read all the reviews so far and the majority of the reviews are spot on rating 4-5 stars. No school is perfect, nor the people leading it, nor the employees, but what this school offers is stability, quality education, biblically based in consideration of a world view and teachers that pray for their students. you want to know the quality of education they offer look at their alumni-doctors, nurses, West point grads, ROTC grads, enlisted military-serving to defend our freedoms, counselors, pastors, missionaries, teachers, administrators, managers, builders, business owners, social workers...on and on. students are encouraged and challenged at this school by the curriculum. students that struggle- there are resources in place to help them. Kids need structure and correction is given appropriately. the athletic dept and electives offered nurture and grow the students gifts and abilities. As do the reiviews on this site, the positives far outway the negatives. i believe the majority ruling on these reviews. My kids are a product of the influence of an education at FCS partnered with our parenting at home.

I had my son enrolled in FCS for pre-k and I can't express how much I love this school. The teachers are so involved with each child. They are very affectionate and caring. I love the fact that my son learned so much as well as learning about God. One day, my son bump his head and even though he was ok, his teacher called me just to inform me that he bumped his head. They go above and beyond. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking for a Christian private school!

I'm currently a junior and I been at this school for 3 years and I can't explain how great this school is. When I first arrived at this school my Freshman year, I was shy and I didn't know anyone but everyone was nice and welcoming. The classes are challenging and the teachers are helpful, you just have to go to them and ask. I believe this school is preparing me for college and doing a great job at doing so. My relationship with God has grown so much by just being around the teachers and students. Like any other school, this school is not perfect but it does strive to be.

I have three kids in this school. One in third grade, one in seventh grade, and one a Junior. As a military family we have gone to lots of schools due to military moves. Of all the schools my kids have attended, I can honestly say this is our favorite one. The quality of teachers and education is top notch. My junior is being well prepared for college next year with AP classes. My seventh grader is the one who has the most trouble with all the moving and making new friends, he has told me that he felt that the kids here were kinder and more accepting of him as a new student, and that he feels great about having so many friends at FCS. This is a huge blessing for us! I love the teachers at this school, they care about the character of their students as much as they care about their scholastic achievements. FCS has been the best part of moving to the Ft Bragg area for us, and I would highly recommend it to anyone with any age children. I'm so thankful for it!!

I have taught at this school for several years. The heart of this school is wonderful. It is a grace oriented school where kids are encouraged to grow in their faith and love of The Lord. It has very strong academics--- my own children have thrived here and have been well-prepared for college. I do not agree with the one post that the admin is driven by money. FCS keeps our tuition low so that families can afford to attend. But if people don't pay their bills then unfortunately cannot stay enrolled. The overwhelming majority of staff absolutely loves our jobs and the ministry of FCS and we wouldn't want to teach anywhere else.

I have been to a few Christian schools since we move around with the military. We absolutely love this school. We never want to leave it. Our kids thrive here and we love the teachers and admin. Everyone is warm and welcoming and genuinely love and care for my kids. My kids are getting a wonderful God centered and very rigorous academic education

I almost cried when reading some of the reviews on here! I am a single mother of 2 kids that now attend FCS. I can tell you that this school has been a great blessing to me and my children. After home schooling for 7 years, I had to find a school that would help my children grow and learn in a Christ centered atmosphere. My children walked into school and instantly became part of a family! The teachers all got together with me and had a group meeting on what they could do to help me and my kids. They prayed before and after the meeting. The principle took quick action in helping my son through a rough time in his life, where I felt even my church had let me down. The bible teacher has reached out to my son and made a huge difference in his life on and off campus. I have gone to almost all the football games and I can tell you I have seen where our coaches have taught more than just the game but how to be the better man on the field as well. I love the school and feel blessed to have the honor of calling FCS home. They aren't about money, but they need it to keep the doors open. Respect, discipline, love and Jesus are taught at this school and I recommend this FCS. GO WARRIORS!

I have a Grandchild that has attended FCS since Kindergarten (Daycare as well). Her learning skills are very astonishing! I have had no bad experiences with any teachers and Staff and was shocked when reading reviews! Several were way off base, but one that stood out was way far from the truth......My Grandchild has been through a different teacher each grade (just like any other school) I have not experienced any great amount of turnovers! (?) At the beginning of the school year, I have always been greeted with a prayful Teacher and one who prays with my child in times of trouble and for other students who maybe out sick. My Grandchilds prayer life is awesome and is way better then mines and often teaches me a new direction in prayer. I feel bad for parents who claim to have had a bad experience, so therefore I pray the Lord continues to look over you and your loved one, but I also pray you and your child never loose the Faith and trust in Gods Will! I am sure I speak for FCS, we pray for those troubled and continue to keep prayer over you and your family! GOD BLESS!

We have had two graduates from FCS and another currently in high school. This is the only school our three have ever attended - beginning in preschool. One of the things I treasure - and there are many - is the fact that great teachers continue to teach year after year and have taught all three of our children. These seasoned teachers are such a blessing - and you can "look forward to each year" knowing that those awesome teachers that you already trust and know are teaching with excellence - both academically as well as teaching about Christ in the classroom. - are in place. Our oldest two have thrived in college and were fully prepared. The spiritual climate at FCS is second to none - all of our kids were involved in ministry and are strong Christ followers. I have 2 daughters that attend FCS and this is the second year we have had them there. As a military family we love this school and have from the very beginning. While my husband was deployed I received nothing but support and understanding. The teachers are very caring and you can see that they truly love their job. As I read through some of the negative reviews I saw some comments about the staff being too strict...really?!?!?! In my opinion, our world has become too relaxed when it comes to disciplining our children and thus the lack of respect and reverence young people have towards their elders. I applaud FCS for sticking to their morals and values and maintaining a level of discipline that my kids also have at home. Public schools (especially in Fayetteville) just do not measure up to the quality of discipline AND education that my children are receiving at FCS. I actually taught 5th grade at one of the Cumberland County public schools and was mortified at what was ALLOWED to happen. I am a huge believer in FCS and I do think I am getting my monies worth there.

Our children had attended two other private schools before we came to FCS and the difference is between night and day. Our boys have blossomed and we all love the positive atmosphere there. There is a lot of camaraderie and everyone is treated equally (as opposed to one of the previous schools they attended where there was a lot of cliques both among parents and students). Here we have a sense of belonging and feel like we are a part of something greater than ourselves. Aside from the positive social atmosphere the spiritual atmosphere is also excellent. The school emphasizes both academics and character, and the school has a great athletics/sports program. The music curriculum is also top performing. The staff and administration work together as a team, and parents are involved in all aspects and levels of the school's life. Tuition is affordable. One more thing we love is the many avenues made available to students to be involved in causes greater than themselves -- missions, volunteering, etc.

After attending public schools in Cumberland County for one year, we searched all private school options in Fayetteville. FCS is warm, friendly, and inviting compared to other Christian schools in town. The kids have been challenged academically and spiritually nurtured. We have been at FCS for four years now and feel it is a perfect fit. The staff believes in building character, the athletic program is great, kids are expected to behave and learn and issues are dealt with in a professional and Godly manner. My kids love their teachers, their classes and the office staff at FCS. We were new to the area last year and attended a public school spring semester 2010. There I learned that if my children were not failing or causing trouble, the school just didn't have the time or resources to deal with them. Now my kids have had tutoring when necessary, and loads of encouragement from all of the staff. I was not sure that I wanted to pay for private school, but our experience at FCS changed my mind. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity for my kids to attend this school.

A comprehensive approach with the teacher, educational assistants, outside programs integrated into the classroom curriculum, i.e LIPS, Counseling, private musical instrument lessons, sports, dance and many more along with the principals at the different levels and the other teachers. My children receive a complete "community" approach which enables the varying gifts and expertise to be applied most effectively-unlike the "cookie cutter" state standardized approach in the public sector and other private schools, as well. As a working mother, my children would not have the privilege of accessing these many facets of educational and/or extracurricular activities that make school much more intrinsic for the student. Education is an expense regardless of public or private-you pay in some form or another; however, one must evaluate-"What is my child's education/future/college opportunities/character and community ownership worth?" We are on a very tight budget and we choose to make many sacrifices in order to accommodate and fully engage all possibilities presented for our children's future. God is good and he always seems to provide.

All of our children began attending Fayetteville Christian this school year. We have had an incredible experience! As parents of a first grader, fifth grader, and sixth grader, we have been delighted that all of our children have acclimated to the school so well and that the environment truly feels like a family. We know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Fayetteville Christian is Christ-centered and provides our children with an excellent education. We are excited about the years to come!

Fayetteville Christian School is amazing! Having spanned 10 years as a family with 4 children passing through it's hallways (2 graduated and 2 currently attending), FCS has continuously provided solid Academic excellence while nurturing and challenging students to walk out their faith in God daily. It is unfortunate to read a negative review concerning the office staff, as this has not been my experience. I have found the office to be friendly, personable and always willing to discuss any concerns I may have. We all need to remember that the Administrative offices have the responsibility of managing the ministry of FCS while maintaining the business side as well. A balancing act they perform quite well!

We came to FCS after a month in Harnett county public schools. This school is great. My sons are happy and have made friends quickly. We love that the boys are being challenged academically and spiritually. We know that they are being surrounded by children with the same values and character. The teachers are great, supportive, and we love the family feel of the school. The best decision we have made for our boys and we are thrilled to have them here.

I have children in elementary, junior high and high school at Fayetteville Christian School. Therefore, I can attest to all levels of the school. My elementary student is loved and nurtured in a positive supportive environment. My junior high student is growing her walk with Christ while learning to be responsible and accountable. My high school student is developing a Christian Worldview while received an impeccable education. As a parent, I have been welcomed and supported by the administration, staff, and teachers. GREAT SCHOOL!!! My child has been at FCS since the start of his 8th grade year. The day we went to tour the school, we knew it was the school for our son. There is not enough space or time to thank the entire staff for the values, education and most of all the love they have instilled in him. I know with out a "shawdow of doubt" that God has blessed us by allowing our child to attend FCS. If you are looking for a school that teaches values, character, sportsmanship, leadership, a well rounded curriculum, and the Word of God; then Fayetteville Christian School is the place to be. My family has been blessed to be a part of the FCS family for 16 years and we are still there. My son graduated in 2005 and my daughter is in junior high. I have never had a concern that has not been addressed, and dealt with. I have not always agreed with everyone or everything, but I know the actions that were taken we done in the best interest of the student, and the school. The faculty and staff at FCS serve from the heart and with the heart of Christ.

I recommended FCS to all of our military friends that are moving to the Fayetteville area. I recommend it because I know they will not find another school that cares about their students and their families like FCS will. I love the fact that the teachers and staff do not hesitate to share a scripture, pray with you or give you a moment of time to listen to your concerns. Our teachers and administrators genuinely care about our students. They not only want our students to excel academically, but they want them to be the Godly men and women that they are being called to be. We moved our oldest daughter to FCS in her seventh grade year. It s the best decision we have ever made. On a retreat with the girls of her class, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She came back from this retreat on fire for God and forever changed. She is now a junior in college majoring in Biology/Foreign Missions. This school offers many opportunities for your children to serve others in their community and through missions opportunities. FCS has been a huge blessing to our family.

Having had 2 boys graduate from FCS, I can say I highly recommend this school to any family. As a matter of fact, I recommended my granddaughter start in kindergarten there. I notice a theme to the negative reviews here...."My kid did something wrong and the headmaster backed up the teacher". My child has also had to receive punishment at FCS. I was called personally to keep me informed. I requested a meeting to receive more details and the headmaster was very accomodating. We discussed the situation, the headmaster explained things from the teacher's standpoint and gave me a chance to give the feedback from mine and my child's point of view. Once all the facts were out in the open it was clear to me that my child was in the wrong and I raised no further objections to his punishment. However,based on the tone of the conversation I know the headmaster would have modified or lifted the punishment if the teacher was wrong. Part of the problem in today's society is parents' blindness to their own kids mistakes and misbehaviours. A headmaster should back her teachers up, as long as she is open to listening to all sides of the issue, and I that is the case here. We have been at another Christian school in the area, and this school is far superior in terms of academics, athletics, and most importantly: seriving the Lord.

First of all I was a student at FCS. I attended from pre-k til I graduated. The school was very wonderful and very challenging for me because my mother also worked at the school. The school taughme so many things that now I can look back and say wow I am so glad I attended that school. I know that some people on here have complained about the turn over in teachers but people fail to realize that most of the staff including the headmaster at FCS were all associated with the military and therefore had to move with their husbands. The headmaster is a very kind and loving person. She always has her door open to any students and parents. Thank God for FCS. If I lived in fayetteville my daughter would attend there :)

As a former parent/teacher of FCS, I have to say thank you for 14 wonderful years. My daughter attended all the way from pre-k up until she graduated. She was not what I would call a "Favored" child of the staff, but she was loved. She would not have considered herself popular at all. She had some issues in the early HS years that were dealt with very appropriately by the staff. At FCS, parents are encouraged to be involved and I have found that the more you are involved, the more you are heard. My daughter is now a graduate of college and has credited much of her preparedness for college to FCS. She had many wonderful teachers along the way. They believed in her and saw her potential. There was a time when she thought she wanted to leave the school, but we as parents encouraged her to stick to it because we believed that the influence of her teachers would make a big difference. Now, our daughter tells us "Thank You" for the education she received. I also had the privilege of teaching at FCS for 13 years. I loved my job. I loved the children...they were always first. I love the parent/teacher interaction and involvement. Parents were always welcome. I loved teaching at FCS.

It is a great school. The teachers are nice. Excellent teaching. The teachers know you and what kind of person you are. They help you whenever you need help with the subject. They treat you with love and respect. The principal is friendly. You get to know her, she knows each of the kids that come to this school.

My children are enrolled in the elementary program, and both have excelled academically, socially, personally & spiritually. After fighting the public school administration and watching my children fall through the cracks of "meeting grade level", our family has been thrilled with the caring focus of the entire staff, from aids, teachers, office staff and administration. Teachers made themselves available for meetings, after school tutoring, even attending sporting & social events on their own time. Even as money gets tighter, the benefit to my children makes this a priority for our family. We are not employed by the school, and I have not seen evidence to support many of the claims I have read about. Parent envolvement is welcome, and the focus is the kids, and helping them reach their full potential.

I agree with some other postings that the administration is lacking. I'm sure the headmaster does not even know my children's names and would barely be bothered to come out of the office all year. Multiple levels of conflict exist, many of them about money. Very high teacher turnover. The school seems to be stuck in a rut, once having plans to build, and now barely able to pay bills leaving the facilities wanting. I'm happy my family is moving on. Like all schools, there are positives and negatives, but for the same amount of money there are many other (seemingly better, more stable) options in Fayetteville.

Very dissapointed of this school, enrolled my child with great expectations but now I am just so sad about the decision of enrolling my child there. As parent you are not expected to question the teachers, lots of unruly children, teachers don't care about all being in the same level, if your child if left behind that's it, conflict between parents, teacher, principal. Agree with other reviews that the school only concern is money.

FCS is a great choice for both academic and Christian education. It offers a warm, inviting environment for students to develop into the men and women that God is calling them to be. There is an epectation for students to live a life that exemplifies Christ on and off campus. This is fully addressed in the student handbook and enforced by the staff. I would expect nothing less from a Christian school. As both a parent and staff member of FCS since 2001, I find a few of these write ups disturbing to say the least. As in all schools problems exist, BUT if the problem is never brought to the attention of the appropriate people, then it can not be addressed.
