My experience at this school has been terrible this year. Last year, my child had a good teacher, but this year has been nothing but problems. Teachers have spoken rudely to my child and other students. If my child speaks up, she is ignored. The principal is unprofessional and I'm looking for a way out. I'm considering selling my home the experience has been so bad. I suggest that everyone do their research before they buy and move to a better district.

I love this school for my child. but there are way to many fights, but it is a really big school. my son makes new friends every day i just want to say thanks to this school

First graders are given 20 words to learn per week and 1 hour of homework each night. Between little league practice and dinner this too much...

Lake Rim has great potential. The leadership has changed. The school has went from being inclusive and welcoming to cold and malivious. The test scores for some have gone up while other populations have been left behind.

Overall, my experience with this school is an excellent one. I love the teachers and staff. My children are bright, good kids, and this school has been an amazing place for them to expand their horizons and discover more about themselves and the world around them... Sometimes, it's rocky, but I was blessed with children who have the good sense to realize that they were the creators of their own downfalls in those moments. I feel truly blessed to have been able to raise my kids in such a good community. And I am doubly blessed that the staff and teachers know us all by name and love us all by heart.

Teachers have been nice, but administration is the worst. over 9 months trying to get an IEP as advised by the school. approved to go to a reading camp months ahead of time, then the VP calles to tell us he can go just 2 weeks prior to the camp.

my son has dyslexia and NOBODY knows how to help. we have been trying to get an IEP, as advised by the teacher, for over 9 months and nothing has happened. the VP just left a MESSAGE on the phone telling me that he has been retained in the second grade.

It is in desperate need of strong leadership. they need more support for special needs and they have no means of helping students with dyslexia.

teachers are capable and competent, but are not held accountable by leadership so it can be a constant struggle to get things done.

My children have been attending LRES since 2008. This is an amazing school. My children are welcomed to school with open arms, literally. They come home in positive cheerful moods and are excited to share their days with me. My youngest has medical issues and her teachers go above and beyond to make sure she is included in every aspect of the school day. The communication is two way and I really appreciate that. I feel like I am a team player in my children's education. The best part is the military affiliation that LRES strives to maintain. Its honorable to see a flag detail of 10 and 11 year olds saluting a an American flag that a large number of the parents from the school are deployed protecting.

Both of my children have attended LRES at various time. I agree that the testing scores have seen a downward spiral, however I feel as though the staff should not take blame entirely for this. We as parents must GET involved and STAY involved. The budget cuts over the last several years has greaterly reduced the resources that the staff can pull from. I realize that many might think that a child can still learn, yet we must remember that just has it takes money to live, it takes money to educate our children. Stop blaming and search for resolutions. ce

I have 4 boys which during the past 5 yrs have been attending lake rim. I used to love this school and hated to move out of the district. Mrs. Jackson is wonderful but since she has been principle I have seen a lot of changes that slowly has made a down fall. As of last year I was excited about moving my children out of the district and giving another school a chance.

My son has been attending Lake Rim since 1st grade and is now in 5th grade. Every year has been an excellent experience. The teachers are dedicated and go above and beyond to help my child succeed. While I believe that all the teachers at Lake Rim are wonderful, I can only comment on my personal experience. The vertical team is a program provided for accelerated students in grades 3-5. These teachers as well as the AIG teacher are top notch. My child has been challenged and there is no doubt that he is prepared for middle school. There are schools in Cumberland county that may have better test scores. This is not always the best judge of the quality of education a school provides. I believe that a school experience is successful when parents are willing to help instill at home what the child is learning at school. Lake Rim cares for each child and wants to see them succeed. This is only possible with parent support.
