BE AWARE: DO NOT send your child here if you expect them to go to college. Our son graduated in May, and they refuse to send his transcripts to the college he is to attend. When you call, they are very dismissive. Now our child is at risk for losing his seat. The school is unorganized and don't care about their students. I honestly don't believe the school is accredited. Beware!!!!! When I called and explained the concern, the response was, "so you don't need the transcripts now". This is unbelievable!!!! Legal action will be taken.

Alpha Academy is a fantastic place, and Ms. Lubbe is truly an exceptional educator who makes learning so engaging. The staff here are incredibly dedicated, and you can see the positive impact they have on the students every day. It's a shame, though, that the children don't have a proper playground to enjoy during their breaks. A dedicated outdoor space would really enhance their play and physical activity. Investing in a playground would be such a wonderful addition for the entire school community.

Overall this school is ok at best, but they have some outstanding teachers. A great example would be Ms. Michelle & Ms. Si - PreK, they are typically in a jolly mood, and very good at guiding the students to be academic superstars. Would I recommend this school, no. Only if you have a child thats in PreK or kindergarten so can experience the delight of have those 2 as a teacher.

Very happy with my childrens academics and the progress they have made over the years at Alpha Academy. They have learned so much which should be accredited to all of their great teachers.

Ms Pringle taught my youngest child to read by the second week of kindergarten and he has since flourished. Now in first grade, Mrs Lubbe is continuing to keep my child engaged with school which I love! He has learned so much this year and even has taught me a thing or two!

My oldest child also had great experiences with all his teachers at Alpha Academy from kindergarten all the way up to third grade. Ms. Titus and Ms Bentley are excellent. My child absolutely adores them!

This year I have watched my son grow so much-especially in his writing, Math and spelling. She took the time to patiently guide him as he learned how to write sentences properly and express his thoughts clearly. Because of "MissTitus 1st grade" he has become more confident in sharing his ideas and tackling new challenges in math and spelling. Her calm and nurtuuring approach makes such a difference. She never rushes him and always makes learning feel safe and achievable. Its clear that she genuinely cares about her students' growth, both academically and personally. I am so grateful for the dedication, love, and patience Ms. Titus 1st grade pours into her classroom everyday. She has made his first grade year truly special, and I will always appreciate the foundation she helped build.

Alpha Academy is a wonderful school. Mrs Lubbe creates a very comfortable learning environment in her class, she is always willing to assist and give extra assistance and attention to students who may need it. My only recommendation is that they provide a separate play ground for the elementary school as well as provide resources for teachers in these grades in order to make learning more fun and engaging for learners.

I can really only speak about the pre-k program at alpha, but I am so happy we chose this pre-k program. The teachers Ms. Michelle & Ms. Si are fantastic. My daughter has learned so much this year and is doing much more advanced work compared to the work my friends' children are doing at other schools. They stay in constant contact with the parents and you can tell they really care about the kids. I have some issues with the school overall when it comes to events, facilities, and communication from administration, but have zero complaints about our experience with her teachers or the academics. As far as pre-k programs in the area go, this one is top tier.

Love Ms.Lubbe for first grade. She always kept me up to date on anything for my son. Also responded quick on the dojo app for any questions or concerns I had even after hours. Alpha definitely has its pros and cons, like most schools. I will say their structured education system is much better than what Ive experienced in regular public schools, which is a big plus.
But
Charging $20 for one school shirt while still not having a playground for the kids? That doesnt sit right with me.
And when it comes to students with special needs, theyre really lacking in properly trained staff. Its disheartening to feel like your child is being pushed aside simply because theyre different.

On a positive note, my older kids loved it there. Theyre doing well and havent had any major issues, so I try to keep that in perspective.

As a parent though, the last-minute notifications and miscommunication can be frustrating. These are just the things you either adjust to or decide the school isnt the right fit.

Just sharing my honest experience in case it helps someone else considering the school.

They do nothing about it! If you have special needs kids on who have an IEP do not send them here I repeat do not send them here they will not accommodate your childs work or needs they will not help them they will overload them with so much work to where it is overwhelming for them. With that being said in regular ed classes they give the kids work like they are in college. They are last minute with awards projects etc. please think twice before sending your children here

I had previously heard such great things about Alpha Academy. I don't know when that changed but I would not recommend this school to anyone. Let's start with the admins who are really unorganized and uninformed. If they end up losing your paperwork, it's on you to fill it out again. None of the kids like the school lunch and I was even suggested by a staff member to just pack my kid's lunch. If your kid needs a 504 or an IEP, forget about it, you'll get the run around because they don't want to pay for services. All they do is teach for the standardized testing they take, the schedule for that is so sporadic, and they don't grade for their resources classes like art and gym. They also now don't print progress reports or report cards nor do they provide an electronic copy of it, you can just see their end of term grades in the portal? Bullying goes unchecked and gets passed off as an accident or they try to turn it around on the victim after they pull your kid in a back room and try to gaslight them about their experience. Teachers will not advocate for the kids if that means being honest about the school not doing their job on so many different levels, which is I'm sure at the direction of their school admins. Staff will get disrespectful for parents holding them accountable almost as if they're not used to parents being actually involved with their kids. And no transparency about why all of sudden they're requiring clear backpacks & IDs to ride the bus so it puts the safety of the school in question. The clear backpacks they provided were cheap and most kids bags already have holes in them. There's no playground for the kids for recess. The amount of homework assigned seems excess. Ultimately this school looks good on paper but its glory days are long gone. They're more worried about trying to nickel and dime parents with fundraisers and filling out a million forms so they can continue to get funding, rather than focusing on the quality of education and making sure the kids have a safe and fun learning environment. The ceiling in my kid's class was leaking for weeks and we would have never known because we were not informed by the teacher or the school. Their way of trying to encourage parent participation is by sending patronizing emails saying that they can see whether or not parents have open their kid's online school portal. And there's no extracurricular/afterschool activities until the sixth grade. Just don't send your kid here. Biggest regret.

My son first started alpha academy in prek and it was his first time being in a more structured classroom coming from daycare his teacher Mrs. Michelle white was such a great teacher she went above and beyond to prepare the class for kindergarten very loving teacher and you she loves what she does. My son took better to one on one help so she offered to stay and do afternoon tutoring with kids that needed more one on one and it made a tremendous change with my son he actually understood the work and also wanted to be more involved with his class. Alpha Academy is a great school that I have ever experience with my children. The teachers are very helpful, patients and understanding. I would like to recognize Ms. Brown, Mrs. Walkers, Mrs. Reed and Mrs. Apolonio for their outstanding teaching and their patient with my son Jeffrey. His math and reading have improved tremendously this year. I also like to thank the school (IEP) Individualize Education Program for continuing helping with his education. My child was getting bullied and the teacher just yelled at her for not being quiet. This school is an unacceptable school. Dont let your child go here. Alpha Academy is an amazing institution, my niece attends this school and the level of education at this institution is top class. The teachers are very hands on and make sure the learners get the necessary attention and assistance with regard to the separate needs of each learner. The first grade team is amazing at integrating the learners into the schooling system as they begin their educational journey. In particular Mrs Lubbe is amazing at identifying the particular needs of each student and then implementing plans to assist them in reaching their full potential, even children with special needs are attended to in this way. Ive never hated a school so much and have always liked going to school until I came to Alpha. I am and always been an honor roll student, but being an honor roll student here is no worth. They wont acknowledge you if you do good but put pressure on you if you arent perfect. I have witnessed several students been yelled at and lectured because they cannot keep up with current work. You can always hear a teacher yelling in the hallways and they all except you to act like perfect little kids. They want everyone to get perfect scores almost every time and make minimum mistakes. Most teachers here also pick favorites and do not fairly treat all children. There is also teachers that are always rude and act like they have a reason to be impolite. One teacher of which, has threatened to not let us eat our lunch just because a few kids were out of line and talkative.Now, the amounts of bullying is also horrible. Theres cyber bullying and general bullying. Ive seen kids talk to other kids like they were something less. And I myself have received fight threats from people I have almost never talked to. Most kids at this school have said they feel like they are in depression because of these teachers. I myself have no depression caused by this school but I do notice that the way these teachers speak to students are not very polite.

They tell you that they care about our kids, and they are our future, that is until that child requires a little more work and patience, then they turn their back on them. If you want your child to have a bad experience at school then by all means take them to Alpha Academy. I could go on and on but I there is no point. Please do not take your kids to this school.

I as am a student here and I have been here for a while and it i horrible they act like their doing things great for the school but its all a lie they were supposed to have a lunch program a year ago and they still don't have it to this day. and they don't do much about bullying and last year we had a very rude teacher because they would be rude to us for no reason sometimes and when we confronted the teacher about the thing they did they lied about it and lied to our parents saying we did bad things which is not true as the teacher was the one had started the problems.
So to the parents who want their child's future to still be alive DO NOT send them here (and I'm not saying all staff is bad but there a lot of awful teachers) I used to love science and now its awful and I no longer have any motivation to do my work.

i would not recommend this school at all its way to strict it says we cant wear hoodies, or jackets inside of the classroom from a student here they dont care about theyre students they care more about there reputation and dress code . Black people cant wear ¨uncleaned braided or twisted hair'' which means we cant wear our culture or represent ourselves. Also, because of this we cant wear long hair with weave added into it , boys cant have ear-rings in but the girls can coming from a young lady i think thats weird . This school is not fun to be at its a horrible school and i would not recommend your child go here . If your child does go here i wish you and your childs mental health luck the time we spend on work here really has have an negative affect on my mental and not for the better .

DO NOT BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT THIS SCHOOL! My children have been attending Alpha Academy school for the past four and a half years. The school and staff have exceeded my expectations academically and professionally. Each teacher and member of the school really strive to build connects with parents and their students with the intent of building a phenomenal support system within our community academically. I wish that schools like these existed when I was growing up. Maybe I would have stayed around and graduate in lieu of opting to get my GED. Nonetheless, I am overjoyed that Alpha Academy is available to my children and encourages them to strive for the best daily. I'm sure all of their positive experiences while attending Alpha Academy will continue to encourage their future experiences.

Myself and my child did not like this school at all. They do not use Power school so there is no way to track your child's progress without talking to the teachers, which are usually not available during the times that they specify due to meetings that seem to occur all the time, and it takes them a week to answer emails that you sent to them in reference to your child. My child was hospitalized, and trying to get work from some of the teachers so that he could stay on track was one of the hardest things I have ever experienced at a school. One teacher told me that she does all her work in class so she doesn't know how he can keep up. This school was a complete disappointment, since they don't offer any services to help the students after regular school hours. My child did not have any vocabulary in his English but in Social Studies instead. It doesn't matter if you have taken the time to provide your child with the proper jacket that is within the standards of the dress code for wear in the classroom, if other students do not have a jacket or choose not to wear one they will tell your child to theirs off (so ridiculous).
Some of the teachers care about the students, and the teachers that do not care make it perfectly obvious that they do not care. I still wonder why the school lets out at 3:45pm, when the teachers that drive the bus stop teaching at 2:30, and the students that ride the bus leave at 3:00. So the rest of the students are just sitting in class for 45 mins doing nothing

. My child started in 2016 as a kindergartner, he does get a bit of homework but it is to enhance what he has learned in class. His teacher is very approachable and the administrative staff has always been pleasant and willing to assist in any way possible. No school is perfect; no child is perfect if parents are looking for perfection then home schooling would be their best option.
This is a good school that encourages a positive learning environment. A teacher is not a parent and their job is not to discipline children. If your child has issues that have not been addressed to any parents satisfaction try home school or Christian school. It does not help parents who are truly looking for a school that fosters a positive learning environment when baseless reviews are posted. PARENTS you know what your children were like before you enrolled them into ALPHA ACADEMY the school cant fix them.

I have had the pleasure of meeting leadership and was blown away by not only the top employees but by the entire staff. Their is a genuine passion behind the teachers and I got to see some great leadership from the students as well, this place is a class act!

I have 2 Boys that attend this school, 4th and 6th grade. While I will say that my 4th grader gets a ton of homework nightly, that would be my only gripe. What does Cumberland county have to offer? My kids are A and B students and they love the school. (probably because as a parent, I don't sit back and whine with my kids about the school, I encourage them) If your kids are average, then what are you doing to help? Don't just send them to school and say that the responsibility falls on the teachers, you have a role in this too PARENTS!!

My daughter is in Kindergarten and she is having the hardest time with her teacher. I have had several conferences trying to resolve issues. Her teacher hardly speaks English. I have made appointments with the principal and he has zero interest in helping resolve issues. He has literally walked out of every conference early. My daughter is very intelligent but I feel like I teach her more at home with the 2 hours of homework they send home than what she actually learns in school. The teacher is hateful and disrespectful towards me when I explain that I can't always come in to school right when she wants me to. I don't know any parent that can just call in to work or whatever to just come right up there Unless it was an emergency. I sent a note with my daughter one day that she had received shots and could possibly feel under the weather. I asked to please watch for a fever. When I picked her up after school, her teacher told me she felt warm. I took her straight home to take her temp and it was 102.8. There isn't a nurse on school grounds and there isn't a lunch room either. They don't have a playground for kids to expel energy either.

My kid loves it. Teachers and Admin,especially Mr Slocum are awesome. A lot of parents who have problems at this school had problems at their previous school. They come here and expect miracles. School is structured. Teachers are well qualified. All my daughters teachers are fair, knowledgeable and respect her and her class mates. They may use their teacher voices because they, after all, they have large number of students to teach. Some of these parents keep focusing on the negative. Instead of complaining anonymously on this and every other website, do us all a favor, put your kid at a public school and leave the comment spaces for people with positive things to say.

My daughter has thrived. She loves the teachers, S.T.E.M. program, and her grades have improved steadily since joining this year. Their enforcement of their policies is a bit frustrating at times. They are there to teach the students. The administration makes that clear from the beginning. They are not there to pat the kids on the head and tell them they are doing great today - but to teach. They don't coddle the students. If they don't earn their grades, they don't read at the required level, they are not promoted. They encourage the kids to resolve challenges and problems between themselves before they intervene - which is a great life skill to master. Are they perfect, no - but they don't portray themselves that way either. My daughter begged me to bring her back next year - so we will. This was certainly not the case for her school last year. They have had growing pains this year - their new addition was not completed on time. Other than lack of consistent enforcement of some of their policies, I have no complaints when it comes to my daughter's education there. She is safe, she feels safe, and she is encouraged to learn. She isn't made fun of for "being too smart" and continuing her development is a priority for my daughter's teacher. After her last school, I could not ask for anything more.

This school's administrators and teachers are not licensed nor do they have applicable degrees relevant to the content they happen to be teaching. I don't understand how the state of North Carolina allows this to happen to our children. The school is very very disorganized and is total chaos!

I don't even know where to start. Alpha Academy looks accomplished structurally. Internally, it is nothing but caos. The focus is so far on expansion, that they are missing what's important; our kids education. The teachers I've encountered are not relatable to the students. The correspondence and behavior they display around the students is not conducive to any learning environment. Students are spoken down to, demeaned and it's simply unprofessional. They also have a hard time keeping teachers. My child went without permanency for quite sometimes and when a teacher finally came, it took over 2 months for me to meet them. To note, it was only because I kept pushing the issue. As an involved parent, I believe a parent-teacher relationship is imperative. It shouldn't take the assistant principles to be involved, but it does. Oh and please don't ask to speak to Mr. Slocum; he's too busy....working on expanding I guess. You have to continue to follow up or go up there. You have to make an appt just to sit and visit the class. They'll send home a note if your child forgets to wear a belt, but won't send a note if they are falling short academically. There isn't a lunchroom. The kids are stuck in the classroom all day and don't always go outside to burn off the energy. For my child's grade, they should have PE in her schedule. However, she doesn't. Today,my child comes home and tells me one of the teachers said to her "if you don't pay bills, you can't talk to me....if you're not on A/B honor roll, then you can't talk to me." Oh ok. So now my child needs a complex. To say I'm done is an understatement. I do not see growth with this school. There will not be a next year.

This school is awful! My daughter is currently in Kindergarten. The first time that there was a half-day of this school year, it was not on the form that was given out that notified all of the parents of the days off. (The days off are different than the regular Cumberland County school system.) No additional notice was sent either. They let out at 1130a and I was not called until 330p. I was not the only parent either.
Now I am having an issue with the teacher not accepting her homework even though it was completed and brought to school! My child is 5 years old and in Kindergarten! Plus, they give 30 minutes of homework each night.
Not to mention that the teachers are illiterate. I have taken several pictures of the horrible grammar they write on her notes that are sent home daily.
Finally, they do offer field trips however, they completely overcharge! They are taking a trip to the zoo and charging $35! The zoo charges $9 per individual for groups over 15. That is an outrageous up charge! Also, if your child has "bad behavior" they will keep your money and not allow the child to go!

We are pulling our kids out of this school. This school is so disorganized. Since there is no cafeteria the kids eat lunch at their desks, most days they will sit at their desk all day with no breaks unless the teacher decides they have behaved well enough to go outside so they can run around in the field across from the school. They give out so much homework that sometimes it takes 2 or more hrs to complete. The teachers are incompetent & don't seem to care about the kids. Many teachers have been hired & let go this year so much that you don't even know who is teaching your kids. 30 kids in 1 class is too many, especially when they are crammed together. If your child needs extra help they can't/won't provide it. The boys have to wear belts if they forget to put 1 on they will put duct tape around your child to bully them into remembering to wear one. All they care about is keeping the test scores up. They are not allowed to bring any school books home, so if you try to help your child with homework it's a pain especially with common core stuff. I have talked to many moms who are pulling their kids out of this school. If you want your child to go to a nurturing school, 1 that cares about the kids and that has more learning opportunities for your child DO NOT PUT THEM IN THIS SCHOOL because you will not find that at this school.

This is our second year at this school. They do not try to help the children who need it. It's all about money. They are also disorganized. The few field trips I have been on have not even been beneficial. There is no playground, no parking, no cafeteria, really no place for the children to have a break from their desks. They are in the process of building another building and adding another grade, so two grades are in the gym. If your child has an IEP or special needs, they discourage your from enrolling. They are incompetent when it comes to handing them. One of my kids has had 4 different teachers so far this year (no he hasn't moved to different classes). They can't keep teachers, or even qualified ones.

This is our first year at Alpha Academy. We are a few weeks into the 2015 school year. I have one child in K and one in 1st grade. As of right now there is not a proper area for the children to play outside. They don't seem to get enough play at all through out the day. Homework takes a minimum 1hr for each child a night. One of my children's teachers doesn't seem to care to connect to the class...very cold towards the children from what I have seen. The academic standards are high which is good but there doesn't seem to be a balance. Research shows that children connect to what they learned through play after a lesson, there isn't even PE offered at this time. I am afraid that the kids will start to get stressed and overwhelmed. I hope I can get back on here and say something more positive but as of right now I am strongly considering sending my children to another school.

My children go to Alpha Academy on Raeford Rd. I am sick and tired of the bullying at this school. When I attended the orientation for this school they preached about their zero tolerance policy for insubordination and bullying etc. Yet when it happens NOTHING happens to students that bully others and act like fools in the classroom. My child has been harassed and bullied. He was involved in a fight (attacked by another student) and after I came into the school and demanded that something be done about the situation, NOTHING was done. They basically made it seem as this was just "boys being boys". They talk a good game about how they provide an atmosphere for learning and that anything that takes away from that will not be tolerated. This school is not what it portrays itself to be.

It is wanting of -I don't know exactly how to put it but I'll say- tenderness. It is way, way, way too military like. We moved here from a wealthy suburb where the school was of course superb, but there was also a spirit of love and kindness. At this school, however, I think the children are treated a bit like privates in a boot camp. Even their PE is military like. So, it is certainly not a good fit for everyone, especially if your child thrives in nurturing environments as mine does. A three star rating, however, because the children I think are truly are a cut above the rest here in Fayetteville. It is a shame, however, that far too many of the administrators in charge of children don't seem to really respect childhood.

We are closing out our 3rd year at Alpha and overall I am pleased with the school and their growth. We came here their first year in the new building and all the growing pains. It wasn't always easy, but now things are definitely on the right track. Every school has negatives and positives but I prefer to focus on the positives and how much my children (1st & 8th) have grown. They are challenged and held to higher standards than the regular public school system. I love that their main teaching focus isn't passing an EOG test. Main stream schools ONLY teach to the test. My children are learning the foundations and in turn are passing the tests. There are a lot of negative comments and low scores for Alpha on this site and to be honest I might not have applied had I read the reviews first. I am sooo glad I didn't judge a book by its cover and saw for myself what the school is capable of based off our personal experience.

I just put my kids at alpha academy for a few weeks now and I am not sure if it is going to be good for the kids or not. But my daughter has complainted about her teacher being mean. And they give the kids too much home works to the point it tired me out and tired them out too. I am not sure if they learn anything by doing too much home works or starting to hate school. A few people was telling me how wonderful their kids are doing at this school. But now I am not so sure. If it does not work for the kids, I can always take them out.

I must agree, like all schools, Alpha Academy has had it's challenges. I have three children attending Alpha and I have had my share of complaints along with my great satisfactions in the past. My children have been attending Alpha Academy for over four years and there have been ups and downs, but this year I see a dramatic change and growth at Alpha Academy. I have gathered the same response from other parents as well. My children are doing wonderful at Alpha Academy. They were performing academically well in the public school system, but were not being challenged enough or provided a bully safe environment. Bullying is addressed differently, now. Obviously, they are responding to parents request and reading these reviews. The academic curriculum has grown and become more organized. I have read all of the reviews on this site and I am a little disappointed that some gave all negative reviews without expressing the positives. I am a very happy parent now and I am glad I stuck it out with Alpha as they struggled with their challenges. They got it right this year! I hope they stick to it and continue to grow as they have promised me. My children are happy and I am too.

Do not send your child to this school.... My child has been bullied (kicked, picked on, hit, etc...). I have left work on several occasions because the Administration refuses to do anything. Things escalated to my child getting into a fight after another child slapped his head. Because all year my child has been putting up with this foolishness, he finally hit back. Well, my child is suspended for 3 days. The uneducated, unprofessional Vice Principal McCoy, was very nonchalant about my concerns. He even went out his way to start up further commotion. I can't fathom the sense in this, but my son and other little kid, were put in the same room together and left unattended until the parents arrived to picked them up. I am trying very hard to follow the chain of command, but of course, no returned call from the Principal/Owner as of yet. I have to push this forward. Our kids deserve a safe and caring learning environment. Oh yes, my is child is on his 3rd teacher this year.

This school is the best school you could send your child to in Cumberland county. I am currently enrolled and I have been for 5 months now and I love it. The teachers give you the assistance you need to succeed in life and have a proper education . But to succeed you need to put in effort. They offer tutoring if you need and the have many benefits to help the community. They also have an amazing athletic department, soccer ,Softball, Baseball, Pep-squad,and basketball all open for both genders. Overall this is an amazing school.

Alpha Academy in Fayetteville NC is, in my opinion, a sham. As a prior employee I can say from experience that the Administration does not seem to care about students/parents/teachers, condones bullying, and does not include parents in their so-called partnership. The Curriculum Superintendent is without an education in education. The communications within the Alpha Academy structure is terrible and there is an extreme deficit in the area of good leadership. This causes a huge turnover in teachers which weakens the Alpha Academy and this weakness shows in Alpha's dropping test scores. Alpha's teacher to student ratio has doubled since they moved to the Raeford Road location. Alpha puts huge and strong requirements on teachers and parents but does not give respect to either. The Alpha Academy difference is that it is their way or the highway and if parents or teachers do not like it, go back to the shoddy regular school system. The one shining star that I give this school is for the staff who puts up with a great deal of disrespect and chaos from the Administration Parents and teachers ~ Beware. You can do much better elsewhere. Hold out for the new charter schools coming in.

This school is truly not what it was made out to be. My child is in the 5th grade and on her 3rd teacher since school has begun. The communication in the Administration is very poor. they are to concerned on making Money for the school instead of teaching our children, Promises made are not kept. I thought I was doing the right thing in putting y Child at Alpha Academy instead of public school, what a huge mistake. She has come from a A/b Honor Roll student to struggling to make the grades now. The school needs to be more aggressive on hiring there teachers and teaching assistants and get involved more in learning achievements and buying books. Instead of worrying about building a playground. They need to be more concerned in building a cafeteria and a library and getting the tutoring program up to higher standards.

The curriculum is geared towards garnering the highest possible scores and doesn't institute critical thinking skills necessary for them to compete. Teachers don't teach/mentor anymore, all they do is give homework and blame students when they fail. There's no reason kids need 1.5-2 hours of homework daily. Teachers need to understand kids need to be motivated and inspired to learn. I witnessed a despicable act when I went to pickup my children and saw teachers and bus drivers yell at a point of frustration/intimidation at kids. When I looked to confront them, they immediately quieted their voice and tone and were clearly ashamed of their behavior. They behaved more like prison guards. How were they behaving when parents weren't there? It was a mistake for me to expose my children to this experience simply because I perceived it would challenge them academically. In reality there's more homework and memorization, not tools to allow them to think more effectively. Your child is only young once and they deserve the best experience and mentors (besides yourselves) you can offer them. We're out, there's several more years of kids being kids and we're going to savor it.

I feel this school is failing my children. It has not turned out to be what it presents itself as: a school of excellence. My children went from an all A report card to my one struggling to stay afloat and the other failing all subjects. Homework starts from the moment they come home and continues often until well past bedtime, sometimes more than three hours. They are unhappy and have come to resist all things school-related, even reading out of sheer "educational" burnout. All of the reasons I chose to pursue this school as an educational option for my children have turned out to be the reasons they are failing to thrive. I strongly urge parents to discuss this school with other parents who have children currently enrolled or have attended Alpha in the past. It is obviously a great fit for some, but sadly it is not a fit for mine and others. I often tell parents it is a mixed bag in benefits and drawbacks but, for my family the mix has rapidly declined into a outright negative experience and I, once again, urge parents to fully research and think hard before choosing Alpha Academy.

Just pulled my son out. If you have a very bright child this is not the school for you. Class sizes are HUGE and teachers just dont have time to help whether they are gifted or behind. There is no real plan to teach gifted children. No AIG, advancements, sitting in proper grade for certain subjects. They just say we give him extra work. My son loves school and he started begging me not to go cause he was bullied and so bored. They have no playground and run around in the grass. MANY really bad kids there and they just cannot control them. Vice Principal is lazy and couldn't even act properly like he cared about my child. I left meeting with him and went straight to enroll him somewhere else. I gave them benifit of the doubt by these reviews but I know now I have done my son an injustice. RUN....

It hasn't been a full month since school has started and I am ready to pull my kids out of this school. #1 there is no nurse at the school. My kid got hurt and I found out when she got home with a bruise on her face. #2 No cafeteria in this school, gym was way important than feeding children, #3 they have teachers who don't speak english and cannot teach a class properly. I am disappointed with this school. Tuition was free but the amount you pay on the uniform shirts plus the long list of supplies they need and every other fee for books, it is not worth it. Send your kids to public school and take your chances. This school is a huge joke ! Biggest mistake I've ever made sending them to this school.

This school is a joke. Teachers are grossly overworked and underpaid. The students are rude and obnoxious and the administration does not uphold the standards that they profess to have. My child was harassed at this school and the administration looked the other way. Send your child somewhere else. If that is not an option, consider homeschooling.

My son goes to this school. Please run the other way with your child. My son has been bullied everyday in this school year. When I call, they are never returned. So I had to go in person and saying I am pressing charges for someone to respond. My son has problems with his homework everyday. I talked to the math teacher and she told me well he needs to catch up.How can you catch up and you don't know what you are doing from the start. All they are worried about is a standardized testing. They have a gym, but the children can only use it if they are good. My son was a A,B student in three different school, We are a military family. In this school, he makes D's and F's. My son cries to not go to school. In all of his other school, he was the first to get up and be ready. Most of the children comes from the project, so be prepared for you child coming home asking you questions and you say where did you hear that, and telling him not to say that.

Loved the school when it was at the Fayetteville location...not so much in the new location. They obviously mis-managed thier money, not allowing for the essentials to create a well rounded student and overcrowding the classrooms to get more students (more students equals more funding). Studies show that children learn better when exposed to Arts, Science and Physical Education. Alpha managed these aspects at thier old location but do not even offer it at the new location (just started allowing student PE 1 day/week). In the begining I donated over $500 of outdoor equipement...less than a week later my daughters (2nd grade and KIndergarted) informed me that they no longer could play with them. My 2nd graders classromm was promised to me (at orientation) to contain no more than "18 at the most"...she had 28! I pulled her and put her into Scurlock, now she is in a class of 23 which I still believe to be to big but soooo much better then the alternative. If your child is a over-ambitious self-starter, whose only need is hardcore scholastics, then Alpha is your school. Its your child, you make the choice.
