I would give zero stars if I could. Please for the love of God DO NOT send your kids to this school. In the past 5 years that I have had dealings with this school, there are multiples issues that have come up. One of my children was being bullied, physically shoved into a bathroom stall and threatened, and the school admins had the nerve to try to tell me that it was my child's fault! I have had friends tell me that their children are being bullied and the administration sides with the person who is bullying! One of my friends had their child being physically choked on video and the admin told the father that his child started it by RUNNING AWAY from the child that choked him. Another friend of mine, her child was accused of being involved in a vaping incident, and when the video was reviewed by the parent after threatening the school with the media, the video shows her child wasn't even in the area of the vaping incident. I have had another friend have her child bullied while at the middle school , and the incidents were reported, but no action was taken. When are we going to stand up against the way Chocowinity Middle School picks and chooses which rules to uphold and which rules to overlook? More recently a new assistant principal looked at a video of my child waiting for his friend near the bathroom, and because his FRIEND was involved in a vaping incident, they AUTOMATICALLY judged my son as guilty by association, claiming that they could tell he was "being a lookout" for his friend. When questioned, my child told them he was just waiting for his friend to walk to class. The school admin kept my son in their office for 30 minutes with a Student Resource Officer, questioning him and telling him that on the video they "know" he was being a lookout. He finally changed his statement to appease them and they gave him 3 days ISS. I have contacted the admin that gave him the punishment, reviewed the video and all you can literally see is my son at the end of the hallway, drinking water out of a water bottle.
