My child for the last two years in middle school has experienced marginalization and stereotypes. Homeroom classes are organized by less desirable kids and less opportunity for labeled kids of lesser political significance. My son requested a new homeroom and was denied. I met with his teachers with no resolutions. The principle offers no solutions. The counselor was sarcastic and answered questions with more questions. They faculty and staff have lied repeatedly to cover their own misdirected answers of why teachers don’t bother to contact parents. Infact not once in two years has two different teams of faculty attempted to contact us.

This is all a testament to preferential treatment to prioritize students by politics and athletics. The new science curriculum is “stove piped” and not enhanced by any programs outside the school. We spare no expense in programs to enhance our child and the school curriculum. They offered no programs, in-fact continue to segregate and leverage a child’s desire to improve by marginalizing individual desire to correct mistakes. That is marginalized education and personal vendettas against students. Teachers have consistently presented their personal status and community status to bully parents and students.

The understanding of why there are so many private schools is a relevant point of conversation. Public schools are deteriorated by this hybrid form of eduction of pre Covid, Covid, and now a blended digital and lack of in class educational professionals. Teachers have lost control of the physical class rooms and allowed students to present their dominance in the collective educational process. If higher society kids don’t get what they want parents call in a favor and the school bends. If marginalized kids have issues it turns into a hostel classroom. My son’s class is constantly seen kids suspended and sent to military school. Why are all those students in one homeroom class? Why are the requests for good students to transfer to another homeroom denied. Why are the homerooms continued to be kept together from 1st to second semester? Marginalization, the fencing and limitations of lesser kids to be isolated. They might assume that the collective other home rooms to be more successful and call the “bad” homeroom collateral damage???

Racism and discrimination is at a all time high at this school and is very "cliquish". The act of voicing your concerns is met with retaliation from the staff members. As a parent, you are up against the determination of escalating your concerns to the school board or remaining idle for the sake of not creating an uncomfortable environment for the child/children. Either way, it is shameful that the educators and adults that we trust our most prized possessions with daily can not be trusted in good faith!

As a student that attended this school from 2019 - 2021, I can say that this is a good school They are very welcoming and as a black person I did not have to deal with racism but yet again that was back and was more diverse so things might have changed over time but I just have one thing and that is MR. Lohr is the best reading teacher I have had in middle school.

racist kids, a ton of drama, 7th graders dating 8th graders, kids vaping in the bathrooms, unhelpful teachers, rude staff, etc. i could go on and on.

The reason most of these are low is because it was either one or the other there was not this teacher was alright it was either this teacher helped me a lot or didn't help me at all.

We moved our family to the Gray's Creek area for the purpose of making sure our children went to a great school. We had heard nothing but good things about this school but shortly after school started it was obvious none of that was true. Racism and discrimination are very present in this school and not just from the teachers it reaches to the school guidance counselor all the way to the Principal. I have witnessed this treatment first hand and so has our children. Lodging complaints is useless when there is no one there who will listen. When I did voice my concern I was ignored and subsequently treated worse so I would never recommend sending anyone's child to this school and the high marks and ratings are very deceiving!

I have had two students start at this school. And the same two students I had to withdraw from this school. The teachers are very nice helpful and challenging for the students . My two are honor roll students quiet and respectful. The bullying is terrible and the principal does nothing . Trust me I have tried to enroll my one child in twice. He wanted to go to school so bad but it was heartbreaking. The principal sticks it to the good children for little things and I powers the bullies because she is afraid of their bully parents . It's a shame good children can't have a safe place to learn .

Sadly we are moving to another school area. Thank you so much to The staff for seven year of service to our family ( we have three kids go there). Regarles, of what some of this negative reviews sare saying! The principal and staff do their best to help you in any way possible.

My child transferred to GCMS and they staff was not helpful. Communication is horrible and my child fell behind because of it. I would not recommend this school! Talk to parents of children enrolled most will tell you the same thing.

We actually transferred our daughter from a good Fayetteville private school to GCMS, because of all this school has to offer. We have had a wonderful experience at GCMS. My daughter is an above average student, and the AIG program is excellent. The classes and the curriculum are both challenging and diverse. The teachers are excellent, and the teacher teams make great efforts to stay in close contact with parents. And I cannot say enough about Principal Whitaker. She is extremely involved in everything that goes on at that school. She attends every function, and makes herself highly accessible. I have even seen her working the front desk! The school itself and all it's facilities are impressive and state-of-the-art.

My daughter has attended this school for the last 2 school years and she absolutely loves it. The staff is both friendly and professional; the facility and surrounding area is very nice and fairly state of the art. I attributed the lower test scores (resulting in the 6 out of 10 rating) to the newness of the school. All and all, we are quite happy with this school and would recommend it to other parents.
